Using a list of every single Pokémon (helpfully provided by this site here) and plugging them into a Markov Name Generator (such as the one found at donjon.bin.sh) should generate new Pokémon names, right? Or at least give us some insight into what the “average” Pokémon name looks like.

Oh my. You know you’re in for a wild ride when the first result is being drunkenly told to chilll. Honestly most of these sound pretty Pokémon-ish, so I guess that’s a sign of potential success. That said, “Lararero” just sounds like one of those Yu-gi-oh cards with a braindead-literal translation. I think Pakilachas would be this generation’s Pikachu knockoff.
Hey, this thing does items, too! A suincake must be the region’s signature food item. Mamamo is obviously the cute pink blob of this generation. Vesssspo I have to admire, because it’s the first snake Pokémon to be really bold with its naming convention. I don’t know what type Smptraoma would be, but its weakness is probably good vowel distribution.
Fig my data? No sir, fig your data. I think this region is bringing back alternate evolutions for old Pokémon, with Tangela evolving into Bushla and Gligar into Gliorurn. Babur.-Od really pushes the envelope with naming conventions, running both a period and a hyphen... right next to each other!
I’m sorry, Shitrung?! Shitrung. The filthiest ladder Pokémon there ever was. Clearly the generator is growing bored with us and thus vulgar, but there are some real gems in this batch. Ladoomole sounds like a ground-type regional variation of Lanturn, and Feskita a fiesta-themed mosquito. Schabylego probably evolves into Lego. And then... hm. I think Arortad is a fusion of Aron and Lotad, and Arurona a fusion of Aurorus and Volcarona.
C’mon, your knew Gamefreak would run out of ideas and be forced to do it eventually. Gotta combine ‘em all!
