i think fresh would have a hard time thinking of Greaser as a real person.

To be painfully truthful, greaser is pretty much a joke character. His original purpose was just to be Fresh’s counterpart as the funny greaser sans guy who also had a nostalgic theme like fresh, Its been years and he hasn’t been fleshed out beyond that unless you count his lucidia counterpart with chilli and his backstory with ginger that was never revealed. No real au and no real lore, hes just meant to be a stereotypical greaser.

Fresh would not be able to take that seriously. greaser does not know he is a character and that his backstory is so hilariously cliche, to him his feelings and memories are very real and have affected his whole life. But fresh knows they are all characters and themes and tropes, and he thinks greaser is hilarious. Such a chatacter, driven by the irrationalty of emotion, something that Fresh does not understand, what a joke. Even though they have a lot of similarities with the fear of love that Fresh may or may not pick up on at first.

For a long time i think hed just treat Greaser like a joke, and kinda be amused by all his broody behavior in the beginning of their relationship. Until he does grow attached and then greaser feeling bad would start to make HIM feel bad, and greaser being happy would make HIM happy??? And fresh would freak out and blah blah blah also I imagine fresh would get really weird when he feels happy because it’s so overwhelming. So his affection towards Greaser often escalates to cuteness aggression really hard and fast, and also limerence. Which is really bad.

Cuteness Aggression

Greaser is such a pretty boy who’s meant to have his tough walls torn down by the plot, Fresh would get cuteness aggression all day everyday it’d be sooo bad. He’d bully greaser so much. And greaser isn’t powerful like error or ink or nightmare, nor is he truly nonchalant like classic sans, so he has no power whatsoever, it’s SO over for him.

I am REALLY proud of this artwork, I usually hate colouring and shading but i genuinely believe I did alright with it!

Liquor Lips

Greaser getting drunk shenanigans

Rant below cut

Realistically, I think Greaser would be a pretty composed drunk, high tolerance and all that. Certainly he’d be more flirty with that liquid confidence in him. But if he was really trying to mess himself up, he’d be the saddest, wettest drunk in the multiverse. Not crying so to speak, but definitely moping around and saying things he’d never have the guts to say sober.

In this particular instance, Fresh is the catalyst that makes him a more active drunk. Greaser’s hidden affection towards fresh makes him flirt with him and he’s more eager to let his guard down and be silly and playful. He says all the things he secretly things but never says, now that he has the gift of not remembering it in the morning.

Then his resentment and fear (from fresh “forcing “ him to be vulnerable and have attachments again) spikes in the moment fresh is taking care of him. He feels coddled. so he lashes out.

Of course he regrets it, he regrets it instantly. With his liquor loosened pride out of the way, he can’t hide it. And it’s like a dam is broken, all of his regrets: pushing fresh away, taking him for granted, being a selfish jerk who’s never learned from all his past relationships. He really likes fresh, he doesn’t want to leave, he feels like he has to though. To protect himself.

In the end when Fresh brings him home, he won’t say anything. Partly because he doesn’t even have the tools to tackle whatever Greaser is going through. It’s confusing, Greaser’s happy, then angry with him, then crying the next. It’s not like he could even understand those drunk ramblings.

Last project makes me want to change how I draw greaser. Need to give him a sharper chin, he’s too cute and roundish when I draw him.

Greaser’s latest design! I didn’t change much with his actual character design, just the shape language.

Not only did I feel like the softer way I was previously drawing him wasn’t really doing him justice or wasn’t exuding the right energy for his character, it was also really hard to replicate the head shape and it was really obvious how I drew him differently everytime.

Also a bonus sketch of Greaser using his magic.

He’s definitely an all bark no bite guy, and doesn’t fight whatsoever. Big flashy moves like the ones usual Sanses can do are quite hard for him to pull off, so he improvises and imbues his magic into whatever object he has. Usually a cigarette.

So whenever he finds himself in a fight, he sprays a large cloud of smoke and books it. It’s usually harmless unless he has intent to stun his enemies, in which the smoke causes irritation as well.
