the capital of passion always looked magnificent at night. here you were with your fellow hunters and your boss - in his cat form - standing above the capital at its highest peak. flashing lights of neon blues, pinks, and yellows obscured the night sky you preferred to look at when the moon was present. you were sitting on one of the ventilations of the building you were all standing on, silver wolf leaning on the railing playing video games, blade in some corner with his sword close to his chest and eyes strained away from the bright lights, and sunday stood awkwardly standing next to you with elio perched in your lap.
“you already know what to do right, mister?” silver wolf suddenly looks up from her game and drops a silver disc right in front of her. a hologram of the city below you showed up and two glowing yellow dots were running away from the blue dots who you assumed were the public security regulation. “we split up and corner the messengers, interrogate said messengers for more information about the supposed discontinued project, and leave before security catches us. ”
silver wolf looked at sunday with a different glint in her eyes. “you can do a simple task like this right?”
the man beside you crossed his arms together over his chest and gripped them tightly. brows knitting together in contemplation as his mouth opened just to close again. continuous beeping noises that sounded like alarms from the disc made you suddenly stand up. “they’re changing their course. i thought they mostly traveled in the skies? why are they suddenly using the alleyways?”
“we don’t have time.” blade interrupted with a pointed look to sunday. “can you or can you not do it? the clock is ticking.”
you look at sunday worriedly who has still yet to say another word. “i–”
“mister make up your mind, we’re going to lose them!” silver wolf shouted in worry. taking out her phone and quickly punching a few buttons. red rectangles appeared on a holographic map of the city, closing any passages the messenger could take to escape. “we need to go, like right now!”
you looked towards blade who was already getting ready to jump off the rooftop to chase the messengers. his intense gaze never once left sunday’s figure who continued to shrink more into the shadow.
“i can’t… i’m sorry.” sunday murmured, hand tightening their hold on his arms. you try not to show how your eyes widened in disbelief but with the way he avoided looking into your eyes, you couldn’t help the bubbling of frustration that started to fester in your chest.
silver wolf was always calm under pressure so it was strange to see her so shaken. “are you kidding me?!” she stomped towards sunday and pointed an accusing finger to sunday. tapping at his chest multiple times to emphasize her frustration. “you said you were ready! we did not just waste weeks worth of our time to train you for this mission only for you to say that you can’t do it?!”
“silvy come on, give him a break.” you tried to but in, keeping your own frustration hidden behind an understanding smile. “this is his first mission; a complete one-eighty of what he’s used to.”
“you’re being too soft on him, [name]!” a timer of 15 minutes suddenly appeared on the map. “we’re here on a mission. we could get caught!”
“silver wolf is right, [name].” you look at the black cat that sat by sunday’s legs. their head turned to look at sunday but the man only looked away in shame, wings covering his face. “you’ve agreed to become a hunter, mr. sunday. and you’ve also agreed to participate in this mission. need i remind you of the consequences when you don’t follow the script?”
elio never truly intimidated you, not when you first joined, on your first mission, or just in general. but with the way he was sizing up sunday with such judgement made the hairs on your arms and neck raise in realization. elio might have been kind to you, but they weren’t so much with others.
you look back to the map and blade, and then the timer that continues to tick. “i’ll go.”
“what?!” silver wolf’s attention was now on you. and so was everyone else's. “no one knows you’re a stellaron hunter! if anyone were to catch a glimpse of you all your hard work will be for nothing!”
“do you really want to risk that, [name]? ” blade asked, pushing you back to where sunday and elio stood. you felt their gaze on you as you stepped forward and pushed past blade. with a single tap on your earpiece a visor appeared in front of your eyes and showed you the map of the city. the same glowing yellow dots.
“[name].” elio warns.
“i’ll take the one in the west, the rest of you take the north.” you heard a collective shout of your name but you already jumped off.
the city was more jam-packed than you had imagined. though you were in the alleyways of the capital, bags of trash, old mechanical parts, and even trashed prosthetics laid on the ground making it hard to navigate through the already dimmed path.
you kept a close eye on the yellow dot just a few feet in front of you. furrowing your brows in confusion when it suddenly turned around and started charging in your directions. too focused on the map showing on your visor, you fail to notice the glinting piece of metal that was thrown straight at your head.
something warm encapsulated your body. you suddenly felt an arm wrap around your waist and your head as the figure in a cloak jumped over your body. a grunt left your savior’s lips making you turn around.
“sunday?!” he only gave you a flustered smile as you sat on his lap.
“hello…” he replied as you quickly stood up and helped him up. checking over your visor just to see that the yellow dot had taken a different route that you predicted. a curse left your lips as you kicked the trash bags in front of you.
“bladie they're coming your way. be careful, they're armed.” you heard a soft roger from the other end as your visor shut off. you look back to sunday who was dusting off his clothes. your brows knit together in confusion. “what are you doing here?”
he looked shocked by your question but quickly masked it. “i’m here to finish my mission.”
“i thought you said you couldn’t do it?” you wonder what kind of expression you were making to suddenly make the ever so composed sunday squirm.
“blade is right.” he takes a step forward and pushes your hair out of your eyes. wincing when his gloved finger suddenly grazed over the scratch you didn’t even know you had. “you’re too soft on me, [name].”
you raise a brow at him. “would you prefer i be a bit sterner then?”
sunday must have taken your words lightly because he only shook his head in amusement with a small smile on his lips. normally you would smile with him but this time a deep frown tugged at your lips. “i’m being serious, sunday.”
he ceased his silent laughter and looked at your eyes. “because i will be more strict with you if you’re going to continue acting like this in future missions.”
his shoulders tensed when you turned around, back facing him as you started to walk away back to your meeting point. no doubt silver wolf and blade must have caught one of the messengers and brought them back to the rooftop.
“let’s go back to our meeting point.” you didn’t wait for his reply when you started scaling up the walls of the alleys. clicking your tongue in disgust when you felt the grime stick to your fingers.
“are you mad?”
“excuse me?”
the both of you stopped. just a few feet away from you, you catch a glimpse of elio playing with the holograms. signaling you both to return to continue the interrogation. the night is going to be over soon and you’ve spent enough time running around trying to catch a wild goose.
“of course i’m mad!” you looked at him in disbelief as your voice raised in volume. “sunday, we're in a capital that's being run by a government body who doesn't care about privacy. the fact that we haven't been caught yet is a miracle!” you take a deep inhale and pinch the bridge of your nose. “you said you were ready. that you can finally start taking missions. elio prepared you a script and we helped you train for weeks. so i’m sorry if i’m mad that most of our efforts are going down the drain.”
sunday looked away. he almost looked bashful with one arm brushing up the other. “i apologize. i truly thought i was ready. but with the way you’re treating these people, i couldn’t help but think you’ll–”
“kill them?” he winced at your blunt reply. you continued making your way back to the rooftop, not bothering to slow down your pace as sunday followed you from a good distance. “we’re going to interrogate them. this is your first mission, we aren’t going to make you dirty your hands this early.”
sunday stood incredibly still. as if he's only realizing now what he's really gotten himself into. “so you do plan on making me a murderer.”
you scoffed as you pushed back your hair. taking a deep breath, you steadied your voice. “sunday, we’re wanted criminals.” your eyes narrowing down to glare as sunday tried to challenge you. “why do you think everyone has a bounty in the millions? of course we’ve murdered people. that’s our job.”
“this isn’t right.” he argued.
“well tough shit.” his eyes went wide, mouth opening slightly but closed just as fast. you weren’t one to curse or even raise your voice but tonight you were losing your cool. “sunday, you agreed to join us. of course you’ll have to get your hands dirty later on. you should be grateful elio gave you such an easy mission that doesn’t require that much force.”
“then what about you?” sunday knew he was pushing his limits, but he still continued. “if you’re all criminals then why have i not seen even a single wanted poster of you?”
sunday quickly regretted asking that when a wave of sadness washed over you. lips pressed together into a thin line as your hands curl into fists, knuckles turning white and slightly shaking. the two of you would’ve stood in silence forever if it weren’t for elio playing with the hologram. you quickly teared your gaze away from him and started to walk away in silence.
“we’re trying to do what’s best for you, sunday.” you say softly. “the consequences of the script getting derailed are catastrophic. trust me,” there was a certain edge to your voice when you turned to look at him. the bright lights of the capital casting a faint glow over your figure making the air sunday tried to inhale get lodged in his throat. “i know what kind of cataclysm might fall if you go off script.”
you reached the meeting point roughly 5 minutes later. elio was licking at his paw and meowed when they saw your figure approaching. squatting down to pet their head, you allow them to rub at your legs before clawing at sunday’s pants and climbing to his shoulders. the halovian let out a sound between a squeak and a groan, normally this would rip out a giggle out of you but your eyes remained focused on the man sitting by the ventilation with his arms tied behind his back. the man cracked one eye open and when his gaze fell over you he started scooting backwards.
“I-its… you…” your brows furrow together as sunday came to stand beside you, the same expression on his face.
“do you know him?”
you shake your head. “no, i don’t.”
taking a step forward, the man cowered and shook like a leaf, leaving you and sunday confused. “how are you alive?!” you were about to question him when he quickly followed it up with something you believed you wouldn’t ever hear again. “you’re that doctor from the train! you were supposed to be dead, i saw the explosion and you were caught in it!”
a lodge appeared in your throat. no sound left your lips when you squatted down to the man’s height to question. suddenly, sunday’s gold eyes felt too heavy and questioning even though you couldn’t see them. you curl your hand into a fist and let out a shaky sigh. closing your eyes to calm the drumming in your ears and heart. this was not the time to look back on the accident that happened amber eras ago.
“oh triple-faced soul,” you hear sunday approach from behind. “please sear his tongue and palms with a hot iron,” the air suddenly turned warm as a gloved hand wrapped around your arm pulling you up and tugging you to his side.“so that he will not be able to fabricate lies and make false vows.”
elio jumped into your arms, tapping a paw at your chin making you look up at sunday with worried eyes. “this will be faster.” he said, waiting for you to ask the question you had prepared beforehand.
taking a deep breath, you take out your phone and give it to sunday. he nodded at you, a hand came to the small of your back to steady you. your mind swam with questions on how this man knew about the explosion, you were very sure that no one was there to see it. “come to my office after the mission.” elio spoke softly, breaking you out of your nightmares.
“question: what do you know of the windborne project?” sunday questions, his golden stare narrowed dangerously at the man’s figure.
“it’s a discontinued project,” the man gulped before continuing. “there were too many errors and too few researchers. the blueprints were leaked by an old messenger and not long after, the others were captured by the public security regulation.”
“do you know who leaked the blueprint? what about the original creator?”
“we don’t know! everyone assumed that a rat had gotten in through some means and leaked it.”
“do you possess the blueprint of the windborne project?”
the man hesitated. he started taking sharp inhales and let out shaky exhales. hands started shaking in his restraints as sunday took a step forward and kneeled to the man’s level. golden eyes not once faltering.
“i will ask you again, do you possess the blueprint of the windborne project?”
“y-yes!” the man cried out. “it’s in my bag, you can have it, so please, spare me..”
you let go of elio gently and made your way to the stray bag in one of the corners. zipping it open you pull out a gray cylinder and wouldn’t you know, the words “windborne” were written in white marker. taking off the lid and sliding out the paper, you open it and let out a hum.
“continue with the interrogation,” you tell sunday, taking out a pen from your pocket and started writing on the blueprint. circling and crossing out words like the materials needed, the measurements and instructions on how its supposed to be used.
“where can we find the holo-wings?” you felt sunday’s eyes flicker over to you but you pay it no mind.
“the tech labs in arcadia research department. they’ve been manufacturing them in secret and selling them in the underground markets.”
you hum and write more stuff down. “ask him about the nano-actuators.”
“and what about the nano-actuators? where can we get them?”
“cybernetic shops. their found all across the capital.”
“cybernetic shops…” you mutter after circling another portion of the words on the blueprint. after a few more notes, you roll up the blueprint and put it back in its cylinder. “you can let him go now, we’re done here.”
sunday stood up and dusted his pants, letting go of the man from his trance. a shiver went up your spine when he looked at you, the remnants of the order’s power swimming in them before they all vanished when he blinked. you follow his gaze towards the cylinder in your hand but made no move to question it.
“i told you everything i know, so please let me go…!” the man cried out with tears in his eyes.
“not yet,” you reply with a monotone voice. “my other friends still want something from you.”
his eyes widened and continued to thrash in his restraints. you only shake your head and pull out your phone to text silver wolf and blade for any updates. “are you really a nameless?” the man beside asked with so much gentleness. your initial frustration washed away completely you began to wonder if he was using his powers on you. but when you looked at his eyes, you saw nothing but sincere concern.
“was, sunday.” you look away from him and look over to the horizon, the sun is rising.
“is it connected to the explosion the man said?” he asks, voice laced with concern and curiosity.
you press your lips together, looking down at the cylinder container in your hands. “it’s all in the past now. irrelevant pieces of information.” elio meows at you both and starts walking to where the stairs are. “this is a story better left unfinished, sunday. so please don’t try to see how it ends.”
the trip back home was quiet and awkward. you sat in the passenger seat this time while silver wolf and sunday sat in the back. every so often, sunday’s eyes would flick over to you. silently looking out the window, the cylinder in your lap as you drummed a beat on it to try and distract yourself from the fatigue of last night’s mission.
an elbow to his side made him wince slightly. he turned to glare at the girl beside him who showed her phone. sunday squinted his eyes in confusion when he read the message silver wolf sent to him.

when everyone entered the building, you put the cylinder on one of the couches and greet firefly and kafka in the kitchen. briefly excusing yourself from the two and following elio down a corridor he’s never gone through before.
sunday’s eyes never once left your figure even after you disappeared into a room with destiny’s slave. mind swimming with more questions about your past and yourself in general. he pondered on what silver wolf meant when you were elio’s favorite. not to mention the sudden info dump on you being an old nameless from the astral express.

Summary ➳❥ Blade meets you, a follower of the abundance, during one of his Mara crises. You heal him and leave leaving only your name. Who are you, he ponders. Once he finds himself desperate, he whispers your name.
Blade sat on the floor, hidden inside an abandoned merchant stall on the Loafu—his body tenses, the mara ever so threateningly consuming his mind. He hisses at the pain, holding back a groan from the intoxicating pain. Unable to move, run, or call Kafka for help. In these moments, even he couldn't help but to feel desperation. Maybe it’ll finally eat him alive this time, letting him meet his long-awaited end. His eyes closed. Corrupted memories and faded voices calling to him, a stabbing pain piercing the remains of his bruised lonely heart. Only the hope of death lay dryly on his tongue. Blade felt joy as his conscience faded into the dark, his body limping on the floor.
Blade could only hear the ringing in his ears until the thumping of footsteps appeared close to him. A light hand places itself on his shoulder. The unsupportable pain starts to vanish from his body, spreading from the singular light touch. The memories fade, freeing him from their strain. Blade lifts his head in a daze, vision foggy from his symptoms. He sees someone crouched next to him, their hand still placed on his shoulder. The person smiles at him softly. Throughout his body, gladioli buds start to sprout. The sprouts grow on his scars, lessening their pain. His mara calms, freeing his mind to think clearly again. The fog in his eyes dissipates, now able to see you fully. He suddenly winces out of your touch, backing away from you with sharp threatening eyes. You quickly bring your hand back to yourself.

Blade only stares at you with intensity, his face back to a neutral state. A deep groan escapes his lips. He considered knocking you out, unwilling to uselessly harm someone for an escape, but he quickly realized how dissipated his mara felt. His eyes widen, witnessing the bourgeons and flowers spread around his torn muscles. How did you-- Abundance? Even so- how was it so effective? His gaze wanders back to you as you innocently stare back.
-’’ You should be feeling better for a few.’’ You chirped softly, standing back up on your feet. ‘’ I need to move, Good day.’’

As you turn your back, Blade mindlessly takes hold of your wrist. You turn back, surprised by the man’s sudden outburst. Blade didn’t know what he was doing, maybe he was losing his mind even more. His grip loosens, but you don’t pull your hand back.

You free yourself from his grip gently before walking away from the premises, disappearing within the simulated horizon of the Loafu. Blade watches your figure disappear, his normal expression back on his face. He didn’t know you, nor did he care about you. He was simply lucky, and you were foolish. Why would he ever remember your name?

Weeks later, Blade lays in his bed at the stellaron hunter’s base. His mara is acting up, making him twist and turn on his futon. His covers are thrown off the futon as his body feels too hot to sustain it. He finally lays on his back, exhausted and restless. He breathes heavily, sweat sliding off his muscles, wetting his bandaged chest. It stings, leaving him breathless for only a moment every few seconds. His trousers are drenched, sticking uncomfortably on his legs. His eyes blur as he stares at the ceiling. Memories flood his weakened mind, making him clench his fists until his fingernails pierce through his skin. The pain is unbearable, consuming him once more like it always was. Groans escapes his lips every few minutes, unable to control the debilitating feeling throughout his ill body. As Blade feels his consciousness fade, something flashes in his mind. A recent memory, a word, a name. He fought the need to say it. His pride unwilling to do something so pathetic. A sudden sting causes him to groan loudly as he barred his teeth in thin air. Dammit, dammit it all.

Blade felt pitiful, gasping your name out of his burning throat. Nothing answered to him apart from the echo of his pleas. Of course, you won’t come. You were in the Loafu after all, and he was lightyears away from you. He so stupidly kept calling your name, desperate from the mara. Against his pride and his better judgment, he couldn’t help but call out your name silently. He frowns in frustration.

He barely screamed that last one, but nothing. Not you or the relief will ever arrive. He closes his eyes, exhausted and in pain. Maybe- just maybe, something could deliver him from this never-ending curse.
The air suddenly feels fresher. Blade noticed that his futon seemed to have changed…texture? He quickly realizes that his pain is suddenly numbed. Although still present, it’s barrable. His eyes shot open, greeted by a light blue sky. His eyes widen, feeling a cool breeze all over his body. What in the? He sits up, touching his bandages and chest confused. Was this a dream? The afterlife? His body feels fuzzy as if ants were crawling beneath his skin. He looks around the plains surrounding him.
A vast field of gladiolus bloomed before him, showing their diverse and saturated colours. The field seems to be endless, crossing the horizon. It sways in unison as a breeze traverses the blooming flowers.
Blade finds the force to stand up, holding his arm with his hand. Although he’s able to walk, the fuzzy feeling forces him to limp softly on the pillowy grass. Was this death? He looks down at the imprint of his body on the flattened flowers. Would a dream be this detailed? Without a thought and without a destination, Blade starts walking weakly in any direction. He leaves behind him a trail of red spider lilies, new flowers blooming at his every step. It feels like hours as he aimlessly wanders inside the never-ending plains. Finally, he sees what looks like a small cabin. He furrows his eyebrows, both happy and cautious of such a finding. As he approaches he smells something in the distance, sweets. The field opens up to a clearing. Between him and the house a few meters away, lays a picnic blanket with pastries arranged elegantly on its surface. On the edge of the blanket, there you are, sitting peacefully with a cup of tea in your hands. Blade’s eyes widen in disbelief. It’s you. He approaches you with more hurry than before.
You enjoy your favourite blend of tea, humming delightfully to yourself. You feel the presence you’ve been waiting for you. You turn your head towards the figure. You watch silently as Blade slowly approaches you. He stops in his tracks, leaving some distance between the two of you.

The warrior studies you, desperately trying to find anything suspicious about any of this, but all he felt was confusion. You give him a soft smile, aware of the questions he might have. Unknown to him, you weren’t going to answer any of his questions.

-’’ Come, Join me. Have a seat.’’ You invite him. Your voice is soft and calming, which bothers Blade.
Nonetheless, he closes his distance and sits next to you. He feels awkward, and not used to interacting with strangers. His walls are still up towards you. After all, you barely knew each other. You tap your lap softly, inviting him to rest his head on top of it. His eyes widen as he gives you a glare. You stare back, unbothered.

Blade scoffs at the absurdity of this entire situation. First, he wakes up in an unknown field, then he rests on your lap? He might as well go with it. Blade shifts the weight of his body, his back facing you before he reluctantly places his head on your thighs. You chuckle, gently putting a hand through his hair. The man closes his eyes at the touch, furrowing. The gazing of your fingers on his scalp suddenly felt like heaven. The feeling spread all over his face, causing a sharp exhale to escape his nostrils. As your right-hand plays softly with his hair, your left-hand descends carefully down his bandaged chest. The buzzing in his body ceases once your finger traces his skin. He feels calm and at peace. A feeling he never thought he could ever experience. His expression relaxes for the first time in years. For once, like the last time he saw you, his body feels empty, light, and devoid of ill. The tingle of your fingers tracing his scars through the bandages gives him goosebumps. Quick gaps escaped his lips. If he knew what it meant, he’d say it’d feel like euphoria. By now, his entire body felt weightless. He pressed his head on your stomach, enjoying this feeling with water in his eyes. You giggle softly, proud of your healing work.
-’’ We can stop now if you wish to.’’ You calmly propose, removing your hand from his hair. It’s interrupted by his hand grabbing yours.
-’’ No…Please.’’ He whispers, pleading for your touch.
-’’ Very well.’’
You continue your miracle, tracing the tips of your fingers all over his chest and face. Blade relaxes completely within your grasp. His skin shudders from time to time from the gentleness of your touches. You both spend your time like this for a while. Suddenly, a distant bell chimes across the sky. You look up, disappointment on your face. You look back at the now dozed-off warrior on your lap. You caress his cheek with the back of your hand, walking him up softly.
-’’ I’m afraid our time together is over.’’ You sigh sadly. You were enjoying your time with this stellaron hunter. His calm expression, the peace in his eyes as he flutters them open. The pain you meticulously make vanish.
-’’ Will I–Ever see you again?’’ Blade asks weakly. He attempts to reach out for your cheek. You stop him, intertwining your hand with his instead.
-’’ Oh, Blade…’’ You purr. Blade’s eyes widen at the mention of his name. He never told you his name. ‘’ You only have to call my name, remember?’’
As you finish your sentence, you lower your head closer. Your soft lips barely graze his before Blade wakes up in a cold sweat.
Blade frantically sits up. He’s back in his room. Was it really a dream? He pats around his body, realizing the pain is gone. What just happened. He feels a lingering pressure on his lips. A light blush flushes his cheeks. He hovers his fingers over his lips. When he looks down at his chest he notices gladioli flowers sprouting on his skin. His eyes widen at the sight. He looks around his room. Gladioli blossoms and sprouts are scattered around his floor…

Yasuhiro Nightow- Born on April 8, 1967. He made his debut in 1994 with "CALL XXXX" published in the Super Jump Alpha April issue. From April 1995, he began serializing "Trigun" in the "Shonen Captain" magazine. It quickly gained popularity, but in January 1997, the serialization was halted due to the magazine's discontinuation. In October of the same year, "Trigun Maximum" was revived in the "Young King OURS" magazine. The TV anime that aired from April 1998 brought a massive surge in its popularity.

Long Interview
A super long interview that took place at the end of last year. The recording time exceeded an astounding 4 and a half hours, discussing intricate settings, detailed character profiles, personal interests, recent curiosities, and his passion for creation. This is the real voice of the manga artist, Yasuhiro Nightow!
Vash embodies my admiration. Because he's a hero.
● It's been three months since the anime finished airing. What are your thoughts at this moment?
Nightow: I believe it was an exceptionally high-quality TV series. I feel truly blessed that so many people watched it, and I attribute that to the fantastic work done by the staff. It's a show I can confidently recommend. Just watching it is enough to captivate the audience. I believe it's a product that carries genuine strength.
● When did you start to truly feel the popularity of "Trigun"?
Nightow: Maybe the online feedback... No, probably the manga volumes. When the reprint numbers far exceeded the initial targets we discussed with the anime staff, it took me by surprise. I realized it had turned into something huge.
● Was it more of a sense of bewilderment than joy?
Nightow: Absolute bewilderment. My manga has many unfriendly aspects, and in terms of storytelling, there's still room for improvement. But the anime did an excellent job gradually showcasing the expansive world and settings while drawing viewers in with episodes and characters. I think having that introduction in the anime made it easier for readers to get into my manga. The anime brought more to the table than just being on TV. It felt like being suddenly launched to an unimaginable height with a powerful rocket engine. That sense of astonishment hasn't left me. The act of drawing manga hasn't changed, though.
● What's the main thing you focus on when drawing "Trigun"?
Nightow: Making it cool. I strive to create the coolest thing I can imagine.
● Did you always want to create a work like this?
Nightow: Initially, it was meant to be a one-shot, and it wasn't a story that I had been nurturing for a long time. But now, since I've been drawing it for almost five years, the content spans ideas from all those years. I had the feeling that it would be interesting when I came up with the idea of a Western combined with the essence of Futaroh Yamada.
- In a Western-themed story, did you suddenly come up with the name "Yamada Futarou" when creating a one-shot?
Nightow: It came to me on the spot. I like those kinds of names like Yamada Futarou. It's like a tournament where strong characters face off. It's a format you might call "Jump-style". Demons and monsters parade with their peculiar abilities. As for the Western theme, when I looked around, I felt there wasn't much of it in the genres or categories I usually explore, so I went for it.
- You often describe your work as a "repeatedly expanded inn".
Nightow: Yes, truly. I sometimes forget where I've placed certain episodes (laughs). When we all discussed the anime series composition, it really helped to see how the entire story could be built and condensed.
- Even if there's a risk of the story falling apart, do you prioritize the coolness or fun of the moment?
Nightow: Yes, I do. I'd rather capture the drive of the moment than hold back. I used to draw compact, neat stories, so I thought I'd challenge myself with something wild and uncontrollable.
- Are there things that can be done in anime but not in manga?
Nightow: There are times when doing the same thing in both feels repetitive. Some ideas might not work as well in anime or might not be suitable. I want the manga to incorporate those ideas.
- Does it take a long time for you to draw?
Nightow: Drawing doesn't take me that long. The storyboard, or "name," is what takes up nearly 80% of my work time. If the story doesn't feel right, I lose motivation to draw. I genuinely believe manga is all about the storyboard.
- Do you draw the often-seen calligraphy-style speech in one go?
Nightow: I have to do it in one go since there's no time. Writing without hesitation looks cleaner.
- Any particular care when designing costumes?
Nightow: I consider how it would look as an action figure (laughs). Though detailed 3D designs can be a nightmare during the drawing process.
- Speaking of figures, it seems they'll be released soon.
Nightow: There are many uncertainties until the final product is made, but I want to do the best I can. Many factors, like budget and technology, come into play, narrowing down the dream vision. Still, with some creativity, I hope to create something compelling enough that even those unfamiliar with the manga would want to buy.
- Is there a gender difference in reader feedback?
Nightow: Many girls say things like, "I absolutely love the priest. 80% of my thoughts are filled with Wolfwood." It's intriguing to think my manga has such an impact. Boys tend to give simple feedback like "It's cool" or "It's interesting." Receiving a postcard from a middle school boy with messy handwriting saying he discusses "Trigun" with friends was heartwarming. Hearing that students share the manga during class makes me feel it's worth creating. That's the best way for manga to be enjoyed.
- Any memorable gifts from fans?
Nightow: At a recent autograph session, I received a watermelon. The same person had given me one before, so I was surprised to get another. I was also taken aback when someone gifted me an entire pack of cup noodles.
●So, moving on to questions sent in by Pafu readers. In the anime, Wolfwood died, but what happens in the manga?
Nightow: It's still unclear. There's always an element of improvisation in the manga. If I come up with an interesting development where he doesn't die, I might go in that direction. I really don't know. I think I'll just have to go with whatever feels best at the time.
●Is there any significance to the number of cities or the number 12, like the number of GUNG-HO-GUNS members?
Nightow: Not really. I just thought having about 12 people would seem luxurious.
●Does that planet have many moons?
Nightow: There are 5, but only about 3 can be seen at once. They're not always visible.
●What's with Knives' obsession with Vash?
Nightow: It might be because they're of the same kind. There's probably an aspect of Knives thinking that humans are inferior beings and Vash shouldn't get involved with them. But I'm still exploring that.
●Why did Vash lose an arm?
Nightow: I wanted him to have a concealed gun, so that led to the setting. I hope to introduce some big developments related to it in the future. Though I might finish without touching on it. We'll see (laughs).
●How much do people remember or know about Earth?
Nightow: They know a bit from Lost Technology and databases from crashed spaceships. Those who have actually been to Earth are starting to die out. Only a few who woke up late from cold sleep have some memories. For most people on that planet, it's just stories of a distant star where their ancestors lived. Wolfwood's remorse is based on fragmented information. He was born there.
●Is Vash long-lived or almost immortal?
Nightow: An episode about that will come out in about 3 months, so off the record for now...
●Is what Neon has in his mouth a firework?
Nightow: I intended it to be a cigarette, but a firework could be interesting too. Either works, sorry.
●What is the monetary value of $$?
Nightow: If 1$ is 100 yen, then 60 billion would be 6 trillion yen. The government probably didn't intend to pay. I'd like to keep it ambiguous. Let's say 60 billion is just a bluff.
●Is the world in the story a unified nation?
Nightow: I don't think it's as grand as what you'd expect from the term "nation." It's more like the wild west covering the planet.
●Didn't everyone wake up from cold sleep all at once?
Nightow: I thought it would be interesting if there were time differences. There's a setting where some people are still asleep. There might be ships that haven't been found yet. I'd like to keep that setting in mind for future use.
●Milly and Meryl are pretty cliche, and Rem has a saintly aura. Don't you focus much on female characters?
Nightow: I'd like to feature them more. I tend to send women away from the action because it's dangerous. The saintly image of Rem might be stronger from the anime. In the manga, she might be portrayed as more of a worldly woman.
●There's no hint of romance, right?
Nightow: I might not be good at depicting that. Or it just hasn't fit into the story flow.
●Vash doesn't meet girls on his travels, does he?
Nightow: Even if a girl appears in Vash's life, he remains unchanged while she ages. Maybe he doesn't want to confront that reality.
●Will old short stories be compiled into volumes?
Nightow: Including old doujinshi works, my editor has suggested compiling them. But as time goes by, I'm becoming less fond of my old works (laughs). We're discussing it, though.
●At the end of volume 1, there's a mention of Kyoko Tsuchiya. Why?
Nightow: She helped me with the volume when I was pressed for time. I crashed at her place.
● When determining the characters' signature poses, do you reference something in particular?
Nightow: Not really. I tend to decide as I redraw on paper. However, I often say "delinquent stance", or should I say "Yasuhiko waist" (laughs), I like the stance where the hips are pushed forward and I often use it. Perhaps, something might have been cultivated from playing with action figures and searching for their signature poses.
●Any plans for an illustration collection?
Nightow: No concrete plans yet. I don't have enough illustrations.
●After the Fifth Moon incident, it seems Vash got a prosthetic arm in Rina's town. Could a town doctor provide that?
Nightow: It was a crude version compared to Vash's previous one. So it might have been possible.
● Are you a fan of "Star Trek"? The doctor who appeared in volume 3 looks similar to Captain Picard.
Nightow: I enjoy watching it when it airs late at night by chance. I don’t think I can confidently say I’m a fan to that extent. I know people who, with a thick original language Star Trek encyclopedia in hand, will say things like, "When you look at this, you can see that the Enterprise is of the Galaxy class. Isn't that amazing?" or those who regularly record the 2-hour long special broadcasts on satellite TV. So, there are passionate fans close to me (laughs).
●What materials do you use for color illustrations?
Nightow: I use a Macintosh for all color work, starting from the first cover of "Shonen Captain." I switch between Photoshop and Illustrator.
● What BGM do you listen to while writing?
Nightow: I often leave the TV on. Sometimes I just let infomercials run in the background (laughs). Lately, I've been playing some blues albums that I casually bought because I liked their covers at used stores. Musically, I like the Shibuya-kei genre, or more specifically, the Trattoria label and its surrounding music. When I'm feeling really down, I listen to Motoharu Sano (laughs).
●Is it true that you're prepared for possibly risqué fan-made content to emerge once it's turned into an anime?
Nightow: Did I say that? But when I draw a manga, the images that readers interpret from it are their own. If they want to express it, I can't tell them to stop. While it might be simplified as "I'm prepared," the nuance is more like I don't have the right to stop them from expressing. But when I read them, I'm still shocked by scenes where two male characters naturally end up in bed together (laughs).
●I have a lingering memory of an illustration of a maid girl in a circle paper from the past. Do you like maids?
Nightow: If you ask if I like or dislike them, I like them. The contrast of white lines on black is striking in illustrations. Recently, due to age, some overly frilly aspects aren't to my taste. But the maid scenario feels somewhat erotic, and that's fun (laughs).
●I've noticed a lot of dining scenes; what's your favorite food?
Nightow: Seaweed. I like all kinds of seaweed, good or bad. I love it so much that even if all the world's food became just seaweed, I'd be fine. Seaweed is delicious. As for dislikes? I don't think avocados are food. If avocados disappeared from the world right now, I wouldn't bat an eyelid.
●You solicited cosplay photos; how did that turn out?
Nightow: With Mr. Onosaka and the producers, we cherished and viewed them. Thank you very much. We enjoyed it.
●How do you plan to enjoy the end of this century?
Nightow: Enjoy? I think it might just pass by leisurely. Being from the "Fist of the North Star" generation, there's a sense of sentimentality about surpassing the year 199X from that series (laughs). I don't have any specific plans. That's just how I live.
●Will there be a love story in the upcoming developments?
Nightow: I would rather depict the broader connections between people. Love is just one element within that context.
●By the way, what's your type?
Nightow: I suddenly realized one day, and it was quite a shock, but the type of people I tend to like all have a certain kind of nose - a prominent one, like this (demonstrating). Examples include Sakurai Junko, Matsushita Yuki, Kadota Hako, and Hirosue Ryoko. As for personality, Iwazaki Hiromi seems to have grown up very naturally, which I like. I appreciate those who are independent and have at least one aspect that I can respect or admire.
I don't want to create visual media; I want to draw manga.
●From this interview, I got the impression that not only through your works but you also value connections between people.
Nightow: That's not necessarily the case. I have moments when I'm unexpectedly cold-hearted, so what you see in my works is just my admiration.
●Can you give an example of such a moment?
Nightow: Please don’t make me say it. There have been times when I haven’t contacted someone for a long time, or haven't reciprocated someone's good intentions, or felt shy around strangers. There are moments I dislike myself. In that sense, I really admire characters like Tora-san. I think Vash reflects this to some extent. The ability to easily get close to people wherever he goes and the warm-heartedness to naturally cherish them is truly admirable.
●Who is "Rebunanto Vasquez"?
Nightow: Should I really reveal that? It's something that will come up later in the story, so for now, it's a secret. Look forward to it.
●Between "Trigun" and "Maximum", why did Vash's hair color change?
Nightow: That's also a foreshadowing. It's a secret.
●Considering the end of the story, how far along are we?
Nightow: Probably about halfway. I want to finish it within 10 volumes. I feel that having more than 10 volumes is too much for me.
●Thank you very much for this interview. Sorry for asking so many detailed questions.
Nightow: I apologize too, for not having the official data prepared (laughs).
●Vash reflects your admiration...
Nightow: Yes, he's a hero. I think he significantly reflects what I can't become.
●What were you like as a child?
Nightow: I was an only child, so I would read books by myself, becoming a bit of a bookworm and a gloomy kid. I was introverted.
●What was your dream at that time?
Nightow: To become a manga artist. It was a dream I even wrote about in my elementary school graduation yearbook.
●Did you continue to draw manga throughout middle school and high school?
Nightow: Yes, I did, in secret. I had to hide it from my parents. During exam periods, I'd think, "Why am I doing this?" Whenever I received letters saying something similar, I would think, "Everyone feels the same way, huh?" (laughs). It seems we tend to draw manga when we should be studying for exams.
●Do you have any fond memories of doujinshi (fan-made publications)?
Nightow: Selling about 100 copies of my personal publication in one day was really interesting. Selling it while talking to customers and seeing someone thoroughly look through it and then decide to purchase it was the most enjoyable moment. As the scale grows, it becomes more hectic and feels like a big job. But every phase was fun overall.
●Is that the charm of doujinshi?
Nightow: Yes. The fact that someone would buy what I personally expressed made me feel they saw its value. I've always focused on original creations, so I don't quite understand the appeal of parodies.
●If you draw manga, it's original content.
Nightow: Rather than expressing through parody, I was interested in how I could digest and express my own feelings and experiences.
●Do you have any favorite manga or manga artists?
Nightow: My foundational experience lies with Mr. Leiji Matsumoto. I recently received his autograph. Being a unique creator, unparalleled by predecessors or successors like him, would be wonderful. I've been realizing his influence on me lately. After a period of stagnation during high school, I began reading works by creators like Mr. Katsuhiro Otomo and Ms. Fumiko Takano, who were then termed as "New Wave" artists, and started to find the medium of manga itself fascinating. I also love works by Ms. Minako Uchida, Ms. Akimi Yoshida, and Ms. Hisashi Miyoshi. I treasure their manga volumes and consider them precious enough to carry with me every time I move. Reading them now still brings joy. They had a significant influence on my current stance on manga, emphasizing my desire to draw manga rather than creating visual media. Additionally, I like Mr. Satoshi Yoshida. I deeply appreciate the emotional depth in his works.
●What's your favorite animation?
Nightow: First, it's the theatrical version of "Galaxy Express 999". It feels like the source material I go back to when I'm lost in creation. During high school, I watched "Beautiful Dreamer" multiple times. Also, I'm a big fan of Hayao Miyazaki. His animations are truly great. I recently watched "Castle in the Sky" on TV, and while watching, I was completely engrossed. Looking back, I realized that the entire power dynamic and worldview were explained in the first 5 minutes, and I thought that there couldn't be a more precise plot than this.
●Which Miyazaki work do you like?
Nightow: I love "My Neighbor Totoro". I cried a lot (laughs), especially during the scene where the tree grows. Just the other day, I found out that one of my assistants cried during that scene as well, and we both bonded over thinking we were the only ones who cried at that part (laughs).
●Before the interview, when you saw my (Tetsu) face, you suddenly mentioned I look like Yoshiyuki Tomino (laughs). What did you think of "Mobile Suit Gundam"?
Nightow: The first one hits the spot for me. I'm strictly a fan of the original Gundam. Even now, the original Gundam series is very entertaining. I think our generation can't escape its influence. I've watched the first episode so many times that I've memorized almost all the lines, like "Do you know the engineering officer Tem Ray?" or "Even Major Char advanced through battlefield achievements", or "Even a rookie couldn't stop Denim" (laughs). Beyond the lines, good animations come with great sound effects. When I hear the alarm sound of the White Base, I immediately recognize it as Gundam's sound (laughs).
●Have you ever made an animation?
Nightow: I made one during high school, using 8mm film. It was an original piece.
●Why didn't you pursue a career in animation?
Nightow: I think I had a strong will. Maybe I believed I'd eventually feel stressed in a field where I couldn't create everything on my own? Around that time, I was reading works by New Wave creators, so maybe I found manga more interesting.
●Have you seen any interesting anime works recently?
Nightow: "Neon Genesis Evangelion" was incredibly interesting. Maintaining such high tension in a once-a-week, 30-minute, self-contained episode format is impressive. In some ways, I think it was unfortunate that Anno's (the director) received direct feedback from the audience through computer communications. I wonder how "Evangelion" would've turned out if it followed exactly what Anno initially envisioned from start to finish. I would've liked to see that.
●How about in manga?
Nightow: I quite like the manga featured in "OURS". I'm honored to be included alongside titles like "Geobreeders", "Excel Saga", "Hellsing", and "Comic Master J". They're really fun. I'm motivated by the thought of not losing to them. Then there's Tetsuro Kamiyama-sensei, and Masahiko Nakahira-sensei. I kind of think of them as comrades, battling alongside them in the manga field (laughs). Also, there's Nobuhiro Watsuki-sensei. Sometimes I see critics bashing him and wonder why – his work is so entertaining. And Mieko Osaka-sensei as well.
●Do you analyze manga when you read them?
Nightow: I unconsciously read when I'm enjoying it, but the better the manga, the more analytical I become. When I think something's good, I tend to dissect it.
●Some authors say they don't read manga that's similar to theirs.
Nightow: I don't have that much confidence in my abilities, so I read works from the same genre to learn different approaches. I then ponder what I can bring to the table – whether I can twist it, accelerate it, or imitate to extract deviations. Honestly, there are only a handful of people who can truly draw great gun action.
● What about Akihiro Ito?
Nightow: I can't compete with his swordplay. He's the best in Japan. I think he's world-class as an action director. When it comes to choreographing action sequences, he's on par with some of the martial arts choreographers from Hong Kong. I truly believe that from the bottom of my heart.
● Must be a lot of pressure to be featured in the same magazine, right?
Nightow: But our directions are different. Ito-san tends to divide the flow of action into detailed panels, while I seem to focus on showcasing striking scenes.
● Do you analyze your own manga?
Nightow: I rely on my friends' analysis.
● Any works you consider amazing?
Nightow: "Giant Ape King" by Kakuya Terada is so powerful that it's almost overwhelming. Reading it makes me feel dejected. My own work feels insignificant in comparison, so much so that I sometimes don’t want to look at it (laughs). Few things possess such genuine power. When the Terada residence was being demolished, I asked for the paintings on the sliding doors and received them. They're at my home. When my assistant saw them, they took pictures (laughs). But it’s just gathering dust since it's a sliding door.
● Can you recommend any American comics?
Nightow: Recommending American comics is tricky. The famous ones usually have long series, and if you don’t follow them continuously, you'll miss important details. Imagine if "Dragon Ball" lasted 30 years, had spin-offs about Vegeta, crossovers with Astro Boy, and generational changes. How would you even start explaining that to someone and tell them where to start reading? (laughs). In terms of artwork, I like Mike Mignola’s "HELLBOY", Simon Bisley’s works, and "Hard Boiled" by Frank Miller and Jeff Darrow. They're cool. But many have excellent stories, and I feel I should read more of them. I'll get to it.
● Are your panel compositions influenced by American comics?
Nightow: Yes, sometimes I think about setting up scenes in an American comic style.
● Speaking of presentation, you often use slow motion.
Nightow: That’s influenced by John Woo (laughs). John Woo has a tendency to use slow motion in his films, but I love the tension it creates.
● Do you watch a lot of Hong Kong films?
Nightow: I started watching John Woo's action-packed films a lot after working on "Trigun".
● Any recommendations?
Nightow: From John Woo, I'd recommend "Hard Boiled", "The Killer", and both parts of "A Better Tomorrow". "Hard Boiled" is fantastic! Among collaborations with Chow Yun-fat, it’s my favorite.
● Other than John Woo?
Nightow: I like the "Back to the Future" trilogy, "Star Wars", and when speaking of foreign films, I'm fond of Robert Rodriguez. "Desperado" is delightfully ridiculous. There's a scene where the protagonist is surrounded by average thugs and takes out his gun. He slams his guitar case on the ground, then it pops open. In the next cut, guns spring up from the guitar case, parallel to the ground (laughs). He grabs them in mid-air and fires. You wonder who's lifting them from below (laughs). But it's cool, so it's totally okay. That scene inspired the trunk with guns popping out in "Maximum" Volume 1. It's a really good film.
● So, it's more about being cool than making logical sense?
Nightow: Lately, that's genuinely the case.
● What influenced the comedic aspects of "Trigun"?
Nightow: In terms of manga, I'm heavily influenced by Satoshi Yoshida's style. Broadly speaking, I'm influenced by the Snake Man Show and Monty Python. I like deliberately using clichéd jokes, like opening a door with too much force, only for it to bounce back and hit one's front teeth. I enjoy mixing niche jokes that people might miss with clichéd ones. I love "The Naked Gun" series.
● Do you particularly like Leslie Nielsen?
Nightow: I want to be like him in my old age.
● Wouldn't that be a nuisance to those around you? (laughs)
Nightow: Wouldn't it be great? (laughs). My current role models are Makoto Otake for my 50s and Leslie Nielsen for my 60s. I think they're cool.
● You seem to really love movies.
Nightow: I don't watch that many, but if I think a movie is well-made, I'll watch it multiple times. Instead of watching a lot of films, I prefer rewatching the ones I love.
● Do you have a preference in terms of art design?
Nightow: It leans towards the manga genre, but I really like Moebius. There's something that resonates with me in the early works of Mr. Otomo, in the way he draws lines. I seem to prefer European styles over American comics, like Hergé's Tintin. Also, Mr. Terada does beautiful artwork. Terada's lines have a European feel to them, detailed and uniformly consistent. I love artwork that can be taken as a single frame and printed on a T-shirt, but sometimes I feel a bit disappointed that my own drawings aren't quite up to that mark.
● You mentioned in a comic that you're interested in the way American comics are made.
Nightow: I think there are many issues with it. American comics aren't usually drawn by a single person; tasks are divided. There's a robust world-building process right from the scenario stage. They create side stories for popular characters, and multiple titles run simultaneously. A pattern called a "crossover," where stories interconnect across different titles, is quite common, and I find that interesting. For example, in America, they might do something with the vibe of "Rurouni Kenshin vs. Samurai Spirits" (though it doesn't actually exist). Including such possibilities, if we can entrust the story to reliable people and produce in bulk, that might be an approach worth considering. However, the best thing would be for me to further improve my storytelling skills.
● Prepare a different line for "Trigun" and run them concurrently.
Nightow: That would be interesting.
● It seems you really enjoy creating stories.
Nightow: It's challenging, but I find it fascinating. There's joy in reading something genuinely well-made, and I aspire to get closer to creating such work.
● What's your daily schedule when you're working on a manuscript?
Nightow: I just draw non-stop, sleep for 6 hours, and draw again. I used to keep this up, but it was harmful, so now I make sure to get my sleep. I break up the days leading to the deadline into 6-hour blocks and calculate how many pages I need to finish on average in each 6-hour period (laughs). That's the kind of routine I follow.
● How do you spend your days off?
Nightow: They seem to fly by. But on my days off, I usually relieve stress by buying toys that I've been wanting for the past month.
● When you visit a toy store, do you stay for a long time?
Nightow: Yes, I do. Recently, though, I don't have the energy to hop from one store to another, but I'll still visit nearby places.
● What toys do you like?
Nightow: I love toys that you can fiddle with, ranging from action figures to recent Japanese ones, like Beast Wars. The newly released Microman is an excellent toy.
● What about video games?
Nightow: I haven't been playing lately. I bought "The Legend of Zelda" but haven't started it. I love action RPGs with puzzles, like "Tomb Raider." I'm also a fan of "Dragon Quest." I'm looking forward to its new release. In fighting games, I need to have a favorite character and think about the strategies suited for them.
● I heard you like Lego too.
Nightow: I do love it! But the product lineup changes every two years, so I often hunt for vintage Lego sets. I've heard that Star Wars Lego is coming out next year. I found this info online, so I'm not entirely sure yet.
● How do you store them?
Nightow: My assistants sleep in the room intended for that (laughs). I need to move to a larger place soon. When I hold back on buying because of space concerns, I feel a bit down and think I've lost some of my passion (laughs).
● During meetings with the anime staff, did you discover something new about your own work?
Nightow: There have been countless instances. I always analyze how the same story can be made so understandable in another medium. Watching the "Trigun" anime was the most educational experience for me recently, even though it's based on the same material.
● Can you provide a specific example?
Nightow: It's about composition. In the past, I thought I understood it, but when the same content is translated, broken down, organized, and presented effectively in anime, it makes me realize the unnecessary parts in my manga. I learned a lot from seeing how an anime episode wraps up a complete story in one episode.
● What's your impression of people in the anime industry?
Nightow: Even though it's not an easy industry, many are dedicated and hold onto their dreams, showing genuine passion and sincerity in their craft. There were numerous moments when I felt, "I can't compare" or "I still have a lot to learn." It's a world where the best idea wins in group collaboration, so many are articulate in expressing their thoughts.
● Have you ever felt envious of the differences in their creation process?
Nightow: Yes, I have. Working with talented individuals makes any task enjoyable. However, I also felt that manga shouldn't entirely be a group effort. Isn't one of its characteristics that it's primarily a solo endeavor? This contrasts with American comics, but the strength of manga and novels lies in the fact that they can be accomplished solo. This realization made the personal touch in manga stand out even more to me. I think it's important to cherish this aspect.
● Lastly, can you share a message for Pafu readers?
Nightow: Thank you always. I'll continue to give my best in drawing, and I hope you'll enjoy it. I truly have nothing but words of gratitude.

The [skin tone] hand was currently lifting his chin gently as if afraid he would break if you decided to pressure your grip. "You shouldn't be thinking about anything else except me, my knight." Argenti closed his eyes to savor the sweet feeling of your touch that was lowering even further to rest on his throat.
"I would never dare to think about anything but you, my lady." Uttered the red haired knight, to think he had been so consumed by your entire existence. The hand trails back up, your thumb pressed against his lips as you eased yourself lower to meet him half way. The half lidded eyes stare at his perfectly shaped lips, "Is that so?" The knight's breath hitched in his throat, unable to tear his eyes away from you.
Beautiful.
It was hard to not stare when you were the glimmering light in his heart. "I am your loyal knight." He could feel your breath on his lips, so close, and yet so far. Your other hand lifted to caress his cheek, a small smile upon your face. "My knight." His heart thumped, the shaky breath as he took all of his will to not press his lips against yours. That would be selfish of him, to force himself upon a beauty who has given the time to a lowly knight of himself. "I am yours, my lady." Argenti whispered, trembling as he was afraid that he would lose his self control.
Oh how close you were, a salvation that treated him with the most kindness you granted him. A beauty that he would lay his life down, an utmost follower of Idrila no doubt. "Argenti," The whispers of his name upon your lips felt like a sin, Argenti would admit it with shame. The alluring call of his name on the tip of your tongue, oh how he yearns to hear it repeat it over and over. "My beloved knight Argenti." You murmured, pressing against his lips to feel the heat between them escalate further and further. Lips moving against each other, if he wasn't good at controlling his feelings, he would be rushing against yours almost desperately— pleadingly even.
He wavered briefly, not wanting to ruin this moment as he continued to lean into your touch. The addicting temptation to give up his entire being for a chance. Argenti was obsessed with the mere thought of belonging to you solely on this fact alone, the sweet allure of your gentleness was enough to make him devote his pious affections. You examined the man dressed in armor, the man on his knees as he didn't want to pull away from your touch. How cruel of you to tear him away from his devoted self of Idrila's brilliance. Perhaps they would condemn you for stealing such a beloved knight who is now solely your possession. "Who do you belong to, my knight?" Argenti's pale green eyes peered up into your [e/c] ones.
"I am yours, everything and anything you want." He whispered, being granted to lay his head upon your lap as you gently caressed his hair with a smile on your face. Who was he to deny his existence solely made for you? Your thumb pressed into his mouth as he takes it willingly, his tongue sliding over the appendage as he sucks on it gently to show that he wanted it. "My knight is quite obedient... You seem to know what you want." You lightly teased, leaning down to press chaste kisses on his forehead. Argenti felt ashamed he wanted to be touched, wanting to be caressed shamelessly by his own savior, but how could he deny these feelings when they're so strong?
The curve of your lips edging into a devious smile, one of mischief with a hint of playfulness. "Tell me, how does my beloved knight show his affection?" Argenti understood that you wanted him to prove to you that he was able to please you... in more ways than one. Turning to face you, he felt his lips dry at the sight of you. Quite as stunning since the day you had saved him from the darkness and he vowed to serve you to repay this debt of gratitude which rather turned into an obsession he couldn't get rid of no matter how much he denied these feelings for weeks. Cupping your cheeks with his hands, gently peppering you in kisses that led up to your lips. The sweet sickly honey he could not rid of even if he dreamt these moments to happen again and again on replay.
He eased your body onto the soft material of your bedding, treating you as if you were to break had he not been too gentle. Devouring and consuming you was all he could think about, the taste of your lips and the sharp inhale whenever he would worship each part of your body with his bites. A claim. Argenti was claiming you righteously, he wanted to showcase you as his own. A knight with loyalties could only go so far, but when given a chance to devout his skills— a chance not many come to receive. "A-Argenti..." You stuttered his name, your toes curling as he drinks you with desire upon those green hues of his.
Argenti swooned, hearing you call his name repeatedly. He could tell that you enjoyed it, the way your fingers clutched the bedsheets while closing your eyes to enjoy the touch of his tongue penetrating the folds of your entrance. His tongue circled your clit, a mixture between sucking and kissing. The nectar of your release causes him to ascend in ecstasy, how grateful was he to attend this scenery? Sipping from the cavern of honor, he wondered how you could make such pretty little noises for him just from the touch of his tongue? "It's alright my lady, you're doing so good already..." Argenti laughed quietly, the color of his green hues put you in a trance of how translucent and clear they were. "I'll make it fit, don't worry my lady. You're doing a good job already..." He kissed your tears away, the salty taste washed away as he could only focus on the feeling of being inside you. The wet walls glued to him so tightly, it hurt to even think about even moving, but it felt so damn good. "It's alright." He whispered, slowly moving along to help you ease into his touch.
"What a good girl..." Argenti praised, the blissful look on your face must have made him feel the need to push himself all the way in. The tip of shaft pressing into your cervix made you kiss your teeth. "Oh fuck!" He cursed, how could you be so good to him? Was it the way your legs were wrapped around him so prettily or the way you tugged his hair in a messy manner while crying out for him? Argenti never wanted this to end, not when he finally got to taste you. Low guttural groans indicated how he loved every inch of you sticking to him, so gooey.
You let out cries, loud or soft, he liked it regardless. All he has to do is just serve you, the lady, all your needs. He'll treat you the way you want to be treated. Like a princess? No problem. Like a lady who acts as if she deserves everything? Not an issue. You want to be desired? He'll make you feel wanted, just make sure not to provoke him too much! Argenti knows that you're doing these little things to make him feel angry. You want to hurt him? Do you think you're in any position to do that? Maybe you should be aware that no matter how manipulative you try to be, it can't compare to the super psycho love he has for you, hehe.
OOOH!that ghost kid thing with the digital circus performers was amazing!!! I cant resist but ask.but can you make a headcanons of the performers would react if spirit kid Y/n is more absent today and suddenly after a while appear with more blood than usual..static noise around them..and points at the group and is like “I know who killed me now…” and poofs again away?? they found out who but as like a scare they prank the characters by making them think maybe one of them did..

He blinks, and then immediately turns directly to Gangle.
"Oh Gangle, I knew it was you all along. Tsk, tsk." He shakes his head, putting on the cheekiest grin as the ribbon gal cries out that she didn't do anything.
He knows you were just pranking all of them, although he does wonder who really murdered you and how you figured it out.
Given how much you've been disappearing lately, he's sure that it's only a matter of time before your spirit moves on.
Or maybe...you were cursed to forever live inside this game since you had no body to return to.
Then again, he's not sure if any of them do...
All he knows is that during the times he does see you with the group, you seem happier (although the blood and static noises are still prevalent and aren't any less unsettling to see/hear).
Maybe you've already made peace with your existence after solving this huge mystery, content with making dark jokes to cope.
Pomni
At first she's happy..
Then she's utterly terrified once it sinks in that you didn't specify who exactly murdered you.
All you did was point to the group like you were accusing one of them before disappearing for the remainder of the day.
This poor jester can't remember anything for the life of her....so she can't help wondering if she might've been your killer.
You did arrive not long after she did.
After Jax points this out, she's 100% convinced it was her.
Maybe she unknowingly killed you while wearing the headset and this was some sort of eternal punishment.
It's a thought that keeps her up all night (not that she needed sleep to survive, but she was quite exhausted in the morning).
You do end up visiting her to say it was just a little prank. It wasn't anybody in the group and you didn't mean to freak her out this badly.
That brings her a lot of relief.
Although she's not a fan of your morbid humor (not that she'll say anything about it, though).
Gangle
The second you vanish after revealing you knew your killer, everyone looks at each other in confusion
"Th-They didn't say who, though, did they...?" She mutters.
"Right, because they know it was you, Gangs." Jax remarks, causing her to freeze.
She's outright horrified he would even remotely suggest that.
Poor girl's scrambling to justify how she couldn't have possibly killed you when she's been stuck in the game longer than you.
Imagine her awkwardness as Jax openly states that he was in fact kidding around..
He also expresses his doubts she'd even be capable of murder...as he recounts her crying over accidentally stepping on a digital ladybug.
She's not sure whether to take that as a compliment or not.
Gangle only fully calms down once you go to her personally and reassure her you were just pranking the group.
Although you'll haunt Jax as payback for trying to throw her under the bus.
Zooble
They just turn to the group and sigh.
"Okay, who did it? Because they've officially given me the f***ing creeps popping in and out like that."
She's strangled Jax on a number of occasions, so they are very much capable of committing violence...
But she has her doubts since you still hang around the group.
Alongside Jax, she quickly sees through your little joke and rolls their eyes when you admit that it was indeed a prank.
She can tolerate your dark humor, knowing you can't help it given your "spooky" theme.
They suspect Caine murdered you since he seemed most alarmed by your arrival. Plus you never spoke to him much.
But no, he actually helped you track down your killer--who abstracted the second they set foot inside the game and got thrown into the cellar.
Zooble never thought she'd see the day where they were actually impressed at Caine's actions.
Kinger
Like Pomni and Gangle...he's probably gonna overthink it and grow distrustful of the others, wondering who did it.
You seemed quite confident and serious in your confession---and scary as hell, too.
He proposes they all discussed it at the dinner table and hold a vote on who to cast out (sorta like a certain video game with a name that sadly slips by him).
Ironically, he refuses to say anything and just....stares uncomfortably at Gangle the entire time.
But before any of the talks could end in fighting or her getting sacrificed to the Gloink Queen...you show up again, looking calmer and less bloody than before.
When you reveal it was just a little prank, Kinger sighs in relief.
"Good heavens, you nearly gave me a second heartattack, [y/n]! Why didn't you just say so?"

Judging from the way you acted, you were accusing one of them...yet you didn't signal out anybody in particular.
She knows that she couldn't have possibly done it.

It begins to stress her out a little, so she searches for you, and you prank her with something silly.

Her name is Eclipsa and has white hair and pointy ears(ofc since she is an elf). And I dont mean like Santa's elfs, I mean the ones from greek and romanian mytology.
About the bakstory: Lets just say that she is the daughter of The Heavenly Principels(lets just call her THP bc I am lazy) (ik it sounds cringe but hear me out😭) and since THP was not all the lovey dovey tipe and probably VERY bad with children (maybe even hate them idk, I really cant see her motherly) she just decided to throe her to Tyvat into the care of the archons untill she was old enough (16 years old) to come to Celestia (bacically be mature since she doesnt want a cryng baby around). Eclipsa is growing, just like Klee slower (there is a theorh that says that Klee is 80 but is also 8 bc she is growing 10 times slower than normal) and everu 100 it adds 1 year rlto her age. Now, lets say that when she was 10(1000) she overheared somebody say that the archons dont actually like her (like parental figures ofc) and that they probably just cang get rid of her. She actually belivd them like a dumb child that she is and ran away (opened a portal to another world and dissapeared without anybody's knoladge). Now, lets just say for the sake of this au to make it more interesting (maybe more cringe but I am having fun ok?😭) that the disaster from Khaenri'ah happened bc the person occ heared it was a khaenriah'n and THP since finding this out was like "OH HELL NAHH" and this iz the reason they destroyd Khaenria'h. THP gave the archons untill Eclipsa was to turn 16 to find her. Well, now, at 15, she randomply (and awkwardly) came back. (Maybe she finally got into her head the ideea of checking Irmansole to see if the archons truly hated her and surprise surprise, ints not true). Now, imagine the characters meeting Occ in their nation. For Venti- at windrise, for Ei in the city (near the statue), for Nahida just at the spirit tree (maybe one of her little friends passed that message for her) and for Furina(back when she was still an archon) she was told from Neuvillette that he sensed Occ's presence(lets just say that higher ups are aware of Eclipsa's existance, including Furina. Perhaps she has read about Oc in one of the books she read to find a solution to Fontaine's profecy).

About personalit I see her as somebody who is quite the drama queen and loves attention 24/7. She loves pulling pranks all the time and also like annoyng people, but in a joking way. Hoever I see her as somebody who has her moments of understanding and is quite the menance to societity(pretty mhch like how Klee is). About her powers, she is developing since young THP's powers but since she is not even 18, its definetly not as affective.

Furina's first meeting with Eclipsa is when Neuvillette is showing her around, it was instant love... not the romantic kind, the platonic kind, Eclipsa looked like a doll, so perfect to dress up, so perfect to have around, Furina feels lonely and Eclipsa makes her feel whole again, so she takes what she wants.
Furina dislikes The Heavenly Principles, she would be happy if she was hated by them, her performance is over either way, the profecy is fullfilled, is it really so wrong of her to be selfish... you will see Furina run around Fontaine with Eclipse causing havoc, as long as she is with her she doesn't feel lonely, and now she never will

Raiden Ei: The day Eclipsa dissapeared was the day her sister died... not only did she lose her very own sister, she also lost someone she practically viewed as a daughter, she had never felt such horrible pain before, so she shut herself away as to not feel it again.
So many years spent in isolation, all Ei could think about was her sister and Eclipsa, she swore if she could just get them back, she would protect them both with her life, she just wants things to go back to normal, like it used to be.
So many years had passed that Ei nearly didn't recognize Eclipsa, she had so many questions for her, but she didn't say a single one... screw The heavenly Principles, she was going to protect her as best she could, Eclipsa don't even get a chance to talk before she was shut inside the plane of Euthymia.

Nahida: She doesn't have much knowledge of Eclipsa, she isn't recorded in the Irminsul, all the knowledge Nahida has of her is what her predecessor left for her she didn't forget, she is confused why Eclipsa isn't around... did she dissapear or worse, did she die?
Nahida is confussed when she feels Eclipsa's precence by the Irminsul, it feels familiar but she can't figure out why, of course like the curious 500 year old child she is, she went to figure out what caused such familiarity... Nahida knew who it was the second she laid eyes on her, this is who she is supposed to protect like the Greater Lord she once did.
Nahida asks a lot of questions, why is she here? Why was she gone? Eclipsa is now her favorite subject to learn about, Nahida takes up some kind of little sister role to stay close with her, she needs to know everything, feed her ever-growing curiosity, maybe one day she will introduce Eclipsa to the Wanderer... but that can be later, Nahida wants to be selfish for a bit longer.
"Curious, you being here fills me with a feeling like... like a hole, you fall down it everyday and it just feels so annoying, then suddenly someone has covered it up and I don't feel annoyance anymore... You need to stay with me for a bit longer, I need to figure out why"
Venti: He isn't all that interested in following The Heavenly Principles orders, but he still did as to not occur her wrath... he did not expect to take care of a child, he wasn't the best, he got constantly drunk, never took anything serious, except for protecting Eclipsa from any danger.
It was no surprise that Venti felt such fear and despair when Eclipsa dissapeared, he had lost yet another loved one... why does he still care, it always happens anyways, no relation lasts forever, no matter how much he tries to drown the memory of her in even more alcohol, it doesn't work

You weren’t happy with your current predicament and Furina knew that. She basically had you on house arrest with her to keep you from running away, what’re you gonna do? Run from your Archon? You’d be insane to try something so foolish.
When she first saw you she knew she had to have you. You had been falsely accused of a minor crime and she knew that you weren’t truly guilty but she was going to do everything in her power to make it look like you are.
She planted evidence, manipulated “witnesses” to give false testimony. It’s not like it took much convincing she is their God after all. They’re powerless against her requests, just like you.
She didn’t fully trust you but she did trust that you were too smart to try and run away, which is why she’d let you go out on dates with her but never by yourself.
She was absolutely appalled when she had taken you out one night and some diplomat from another nation decided to flirt with you.
It was to spite her, that she was sure of.
The person was chatting you up, hand rested on your thigh while you sat and talked. She caught you smiling at whatever conversation was happening between you and this stranger and she was furious.
How dare you?? You never smile at her like that!
Her blood is boiling and she storms over to you, grabbing you tightly by the wrist and pulling you along.
“We’re going home.”
It was the next day and Furina had requested you join her in the court proceedings for that day, a common enough request that you didn’t think much of it.
However your heart drops when you see the man you had been chatting with last night standing before the court. You weren’t friends by any means with the man but you feared for what she was going to do to him…

You had quickly grown cold again after a few days and she mourned the loss. She needed to see that side of you again.
She brought another man in this time who she had seen you idly chatting with that morning on your way to meet with her. Unlike the other man he hadn’t done anything wrong but she didn’t care, if suing him got your attention that’s exactly what she was going to do.
You watch during the trial and just sigh to yourself, once again you must set your pride aside to keep her from hurting some poor innocent citizen…

You brush your hand against her shoulders, massaging the tense muscles. You can tell she’s off put by your words, not fully trusting them.

"What are you blabbering about this time woman", he rolled his eyes.
"Like do you have a thing for volcanoes or something? I mean love don't judge but I sure as hell do. That's weird Sukuna", you came up to his side, crinkling up your nose to show your disgust.
He narrowed his eyes and before you could even process what was going on, he had your cheeks squished together in his hand, his nails grazing your skin which was sure to leave crescent like indents.
"Who are you calling weird?".
You laughed and shrugged your shoulders. "Forget I said anything", your words came out muffled.
"And on that note, why d—", his hand was now over your mouth and annoyance graced his face.

it was but another ordinary day for you — picking up your violin and rearranging a favorite song of yours, treating yourself to dessert, having the regular two cups of tea, having a good read or two at the local library in town, writing down ideas and lastly ending the day by catching up with your lover who's living abroad.
honestly, your usual day-to-day activities have been stale without his presence, that you admitted to him at one point which he, rather characteristically, found amusement in. but the amusement that laced his tone was only a cover-up for the immense joy he felt.
“just about the usual as always?” kunikuzushi inquired at the other end of the line, watching you tune your guitar with an attentive gaze. “i'd say so, yes.” you hum in agreement, still occupied with tuning your acoustic guitar that you haven't touched in a long while.
a smile tugged at your lips as you finished tuning your guitar. with a small sigh, your gaze met his that's behind the screen and you are greeted with him tuning his own guitar. out of habit, you chuckle quietly at the sight. “you didn't tune your guitar beforehand?” “the blame is on you for suddenly deciding to have another music night.”
fair enough, but it was interesting to see him tune his guitar — it's always tuned, and that prompted you to ask: “say, did ajax mess around with your guitar again?” even on the other end of the line, the familiar playfulness present in your voice never fails to make him smile. he hummed quietly, “i don't believe it should be that surprising anymore.”
you presumed correctly. you set your guitar beside your chair, resting its board on the armrest of said chair as you took your cup of tea, taking a sip from it whilst watching him tune his electric guitar and setting up the amplifier in silence. once done, he leaned his back against his chair whilst stretching his arms out, sighing in relief to himself while you smiled.
this was quite a common activity, especially so since it'll almost be a year since he traveled abroad. and the more you dwelled on the reality of it, the more you felt the need to ask. and so, sitting your cup down on the table and with the best smile you could muster,

similar to how late night calls and music nights were a common occurrence, that was a common question. you miss him, you really do, so much to a point it hurts having to wake another day without being able to see him or squeeze him gently in your embrace as you slept. it'll be a year since you haven't been able to bask in his warmth, to spend another mundane day with him by your side, to not have been able to see that face of his whenever you decide to assault his face with soft kisses.
his silence made your smile falter slightly. seems that he doesn't have an answer either.
you internally ponder about whether you should've asked that question or not, this silence you earn as a response has become so familiar that it's not as surprising anymore. to relieve it, you hum quietly in acknowledgement, and just as you were about to murmur a quiet apology...

he couldn't help but chuckle softly at your reaction, it's just about what he expected and truthfully? he was delighted to see it. “really.” he parroted in affirmation, resting the side of his head on his hand, small smile widening at the sight of yours brightening in pure unbridled joy.
“now that i gave you a definitive answer, how about we get the night over with?” he playfully inquired, his unoccupied hand bringing his electric guitar to rest on his lap. you eagerly nodded and took your acoustic guitar, setting yourself up more comfortably as you got ready to sing the night away once more this week.

you could've sworn you saw an irk mark appear at the top of his forehead at your reply, in spite of his room's dim lighting. but you digress. with a deep breath and acknowledging that you are going first, he began playing the instrumental of the song you chose to sing. a smile tugged at your lips as at the sight of his reaction, the instrumental of your song was quiet... calm, to say the least. but that didn't come as too much of a surprise, the song you chose was a cheesy love song.
your voice remained clear as day to him as you sang, taking him back to the early stages of your relationship in which he would always hear you sing or hum a tune. or even better in his eyes — the tranquil nights in which he's held close; head resting on your chest as he listened to the soothing melody of your heart. your fingers brushing through his midnight locks adding more to that tranquility.
his gaze would on occasion shift from his guitar to you on his monitor screen, smiling to himself as you, which he's sure as hell you chose this song on purpose, are singing this song for him. how he longs to hear that voice of yours once he returns to inazuma... the mere thought of being able to see you for the first time in a year makes him get a tad bit too antsy.
you on the other hand, while missing him dearly and now are getting antsy for his return, were more focused on a specific time in which he had you comfortable on his lap, your newly bought acoustic guitar held in your hands as he, rather gently, guided you on how to play the instrument. you still remember the time you mastered his signature riff, your heart over the moon as he leaned in to plant a soft kiss to your cheek that playfully trailed down to your shoulder, whispering a quiet and love-filled “well done, doll.” right next to your ear.
as your gaze never left his as you two sang the night away, relishing in the familiarity of the moment that took both your minds back to before his journey commenced.

it's been a month since then. late night calls have unfortunately become less frequent since he's gotten busy as of late, opting to catch up via messages instead.
it's been incredibly endearing receiving updates of his whereabouts, from how the band's commission is coming along to daily mundanities; they never failed to bring a smile to your face. however one day, he stopped messaging you entirely. safe to say it left you worried, and you sent as little messages as you can to ensure that you aren't bothering him too much.
last message on the first of december, a minute before you headed to spend some quality time like usual at the library.
you were walking in town now, waving and smiling softly in greeting to a few familiar faces as you made your way to the library. but the walk doesn't feel tranquil at all, not when your mind is taken over by a storm of worried thoughts. even now, you're still checking your phone constantly for at least one message in response. but much to your dismay, there was none.
you attended your violin class with kokomi, a close friend of yours, and she picked up on your uncharacteristics that lingered throughout your entire hangout with her today. not seeing why you should hide it, you spill.
“it was a little too abrupt,” you mumble while taking a sip of your coffee, “i sent multiple messages but he has yet to reply.” kokomi can pinpoint the worry laced in your words, and she only smiles. it's always been endearing to her seeing more of you shine, and only your lover is the only one able to make your serenity falter.

you eventually pull away with a soft breath out, your gaze meeting his as he quietly murmured, “i'm back.” you couldn't help but chuckle at his words, unable to contain your happiness — you leaned in to leave a soft peck to his lips as your hands trailed to his cheeks. smiling in pure, unbridled joy. “welcome back.”
his hand that resided in your hair now cupped your cheek, gently brushing his thumb across your cheekbone with a soft smile playing on his lips. his heart leaped as you did the familiar action of leaning into his touch with a quiet hum. how he missed you.
no words were exchanged as he led you back inside the comfort of your shared home, closing the door behind him while you stretched your body out with a yawn.
“excited to a point you left the house in your pjs. so much for wanting to catch a cold.” he remarked with a chuckle, making his way further in the familiar space and sitting down on the couch, not bothering to take his coat off.
“well, i can't be blamed now, can i? especially with how you suddenly ghosted me for two whole days, shithead.”

you only sighed deeply in relief afterwards, not only is he okay but he's back. all of your happiness emerged from the latter as you fixed up your hair a bit and made yourself comfortable next to him, not wasting time in snuggling up to him. although you couldn't see it, he smiled. his hand tangled in your hair once more, his fingers gently combing through your locks.
there was nothing but a comfortable silence as he held you close, but that didn't remain for long.

Arche sighed as he walked across the Universe, planets and different Universe’s surrounding his body.
Arche wasn't a God but neither was he Mortal. He lost the ability to die to Death a long, long time ago. So now he walks the Multiverse’s to spite the Gods who kill his lover every time.
The Gods do this as a punishment for cheating Death, perhaps. But they dare not actually try and get close to Arche. If they do, they will live a Fate worse then Death herself.
When he's not pretending to be human, his skin is covered in blues, purples, and pinks like the galaxy itself, his eyes, one black one white. Black always forced to watch your Death, the white watching every new Life.
Arche walks to the next Universe, wincing at how horrible it seems. Another war Universe? Alright. He always hates these ones. You almost always die in his arms.
Arche steels himself, all six arms wrapping around the Universe as he leaves his body, his subconscious melding with the world.
Arche’s eyes flutter open, taking the form of a child, barely 7 years of age. His “parents” tell him to go to his hiding spot, and he does.
Arche hides as he hears gun shots, screams, begging. He fiddles with the ends of his sleeves, curling into himself in the small hide of his.
People run into the house, searching for resources and other survivors.
A hologram laptop pops up in front of Arche, telling him everything he'd need to know about the Universe he's currently in.
This Universe was created by Death, to get more souls...Everyone will die in twenty-six years due to a bomb...Alright, so he's got twenty-six years to find YOU, to get into a relationship with you, and hopefully confess to you what he is.
And then help you become one too.
Arche waits, freezing as someone opens the door. “Hey! I found....a kid?” The person pauses, and another adult walks over, frowning as they realize what they just did.
“Fuck. We just orphaned a child.” The adult with brown hair curses, while the blonde smacks them away with a roll of their eyes.
“Hey, little one. I'm Georgia, she/her, what's your name?” The woman asks, kneeling down as she smiles gently. Arche crawls further back, whimpering.
“...Ar-Arche. He/him. Wh-Why’d you kill them...?” Georgia pauses, and sighs. She glances away, biting her lip.
She's pretty, he's got to admit. Blonde hair that reaches her navel, a mole under her eye, green eyes that seem far too kind for a war. She's going to die young.
The other adult interrupts. “That's just how life is right now, kid. You kill or be killed—” Georgia slaps him, and the two bicker for a few moments before Georgia sighs.
“That’s Wyatt, my husband. He's...a bit blunt, isn't he?” Georgia snorts. Arche slowly crawls out after a ton of coaxing, and can finally fully look at Wyatt.
He's got brown, curly hair that's rather long, in a ponytail. He's got brown eyes and tan skin, and a permanent glare on his face. He's got a huge scar over his nose.
But, he notices something. No, someone. YOU. You're just a kid, maybe a year older or two, hiding behind Wyatt, glancing at him quietly.
Wyatt glances between Arche and you, before Georgia pulls him away, as they go and talk in a corner, whisper yelling at each other
You're curious but cautious, glancing at him, or well, glaring. You look so pretty, even as a kid.
The two sit in silence while the adults yell at each other, as it gets more intense. Arche frowns, and goes to cover his ears.
But then, you pull him to your chest, covering his ears. He freezes, and you look away from the scene and him.
“I’m sorry about them. They're stressed.” You murmur, and hours pass before the yelling stops.
The two walk over, and Georgia smiles at the sight of the two of them huddled together, asleep. Wyatt snorts, picking up Arche, and Georgia picks up you.
The two walk out, going to their hide out. Arche’s not asleep. He rarely is.
Years pass and memories are made. Days where the good and bad happen.
Georgia dies first. Arche can remember your screams, and Wyatt and him having to pull you away.
Wyatt died a few months later, leaving fourteen, almost fifteen, year old Arche and sixteen year old you alone. You quickly became a good caretaker for him, making sure he never got harmed.
The day of your eighteenth birthday he confessed, and although at first nervous, you agreed. The years passed and days got better, brighter because he was around.
Arche was stupid. He thought he had more time. Maybe this was the one. He ignored every warning, despite it having been twenty-six years.
Foolish. A fool in Love is what Arche is. He defies Gods for you every day, and yet you can't even stay alive for him.
It's the day of his 33rd birthday. He doesn't think anything of it. Nothings wrong, you're smiling and happy. Thats all he cares about.
Then the fires start, he tries to get you out, go somewhere else. By the time the bomb drops, he realizes he's messed up once more.
You're dying. In his arms once more. Arche curses every God he can think of, sobbing into your chest as your burned fingers glide through his hair.
“'m sorry, 'm sorry- It's all my fault. I should've realized.” Arche sobs into your chest, the soft smile he so desperately wishes wasn't on your dying face directed at him.
He feels the flames burn his human vessel as he protects your body with his own, and he screams from the pain.
You're tears are like acid against his skin, he loves seeing you smile. But not like this. Then you mutter something against his skin that makes him freeze.
“Do...Do you think we're together in every life, my moth?” The words are quiet, barely a whisper amongst the flames. And he can't help but nod.
You ask this every time you die. Every time he can't help but remember every death before this. And think of every one after it, too.
“Of course we are, firefly. Till Death do us part like she always shall, and we find each other in the next life. I'll always be drawn to your light, like a moth to a flame.” Arche can feel you smile against his skin, as the flames finally take both of your lives.
When he comes to, arms unwrapped around the Universe, he makes a promise.
“I'll find a life we both shall live peacefully, Firefly. No matter what it takes. No matter who's blood I shall spill.” Arche promises, floating away to the next Universe as another death is stored in his memory.

“And that's the story of Arche and his Firefly.” The historian, named after the “story”of Arche finishes, smiling while holding his lovers hand at the children surrounding the two.
One of them raised their hand, and he nods as a response. “Are you named after the story, Mr. Arche?” The child asks with wonder in their eyes.
Arche chuckles, nodding along. “I am. Me and my very own Firefly will always be together. No matter what the Gods have to say, or Universe.” Arche brings a finger to their lip, winking at the child.
The children laugh, and move on to the next exhibit. You raise a brow, glancing over at Arche. “Really? You shouldn't be saying that, what if someone finds out, my moth?” You cross your arms over your chest, smiling gently at the exhibit of your history together.
“Firefly, they're children. I could show my true form and they'd think it was a Dream when they grow up.” Arche waves a hand in dismissal, smirking at you. You roll your eyes, and the two of you turn to your true forms as you leave.
“Alright, ready for the next one, Firefly? Where should we go, hmm?” Arche pulls you into the painting, and you find yourselves in the galaxy.
“Oh, I do love the one where you're the prince and I'm the jester, moth.” You smile, and he nods.
Now that you're his, no world or realm, God or man can take the two of you apart. ♥︎
