opinion on people who just eat cereal dry with their hands like its popcorn. not asking for any reason
i think tumblr should have an @everyone feature. this would solve nothing and make everything worse
these people truly think they are a beacon of knowledge and rationality
WAIT WAIT HOLD ON
yknow how tumblr makes queer tags color coordinated by pride flag? look at this
IT ACTUALLY SAID ACE ATTORNEY
TUMBLR COLOR CODES THESE BY WHAT YOU SEE
iโm still baffled by this how is tumblr fucking coded that this is how it works
This website's been held together by clown coding since it was launched, how is this a surprise to you
Older Black gay men in long term relationships are rarely covered or seen by main stream media.
Here's the article, very well worth the read
everybody on this site is missing a) compassion b) critical thinking skills and c) reading comprehension
d) all of the above
it says and

Why donโt astronauts just visit the sun at night?
um obviously because it will be too dark to see anything, thereโs no point, also because the sun is trying to sleep we wouldnโt want to disturb it
this is simply the greatest video i have ever seen
Iโm going to reblog this a million times so be it
#i love how they give up on the dumb gimmick and just make her do increasingly inane trick shots
Reminded of that time the xkcd guy was trying to research what sports equipment would be most effective for destroying enemy drones in flight and he looked up a bunch of stats about pro tennis player accuracy against stationary targets like 40 feet away, and figured that a reallyย high level tennis pro mightย be able to hit the drone in 5-7 shots if they had the time and even then probably wouldnโt do enough damage to disrupt it more than momentarily.
And then Serena volunteered to test this theory and just, killed it instantly.
i see people saying shit like โsheโs the best woman playerโ nah fam sheโs the best one out there
Technically it took her three tries, but thatโs still far less than what xkcd expected.
oh boy iโm sleepy. surely i will go to bed at a reasonable time tonight

I love how the search function on this site is absolute garbage. I can look up a post word for word and I will NEVER find it
Pro tip:
Wanna find a post?
Write out what you remember into a Google search.
After you write that out, end with site:tumblr.com
Google will search for your text on just tumblr
In my experience, itโs way more effective than searching through Tumblr
(you can use site:SITENAME.com to search any site btws)
This usually works but for some reason a lot of posts get indexed on google from a personโs URL based on the posts that were recently reblogged on page 1, meaning that this is only a tiny bit more reliable.
I HAVE a solution to this, you have to write down site:tumblr.com/post โ โ
and then write a direct quote (could be a fraction of a sentence) into the quotations, Iโve been doing this for years, and itโs so useful, it works like 99% of the timeย
(the more popular a post is the more likely youโll find it)
youโre a genius holy shit
Just used this to find a post Iโve been desperately searching for, thank you so much
55 Cancri e: Where Skies Sparkle Above a Never-ending Ocean of Lava
Weโve discovered thousands of exoplanets โ planets beyond our solar system โ so far. These worlds are mysterious, but observations from telescopes on the ground and in space help us understand what they might look like.
Take the planet 55 Cancri e, for instance. Itโs relatively close, galactically speaking, at 41 light-years away. Itโs a rocky planet, nearly two times bigger than Earth, that whips around its star every 18 hours (as opposed to the 365 days it takes our planet to orbit the Sun. Slacker).
The planetโs star, 55 Cancri, is slightly smaller than our Sun, but itโs 65 times closer than the Sun is to Earth. Imagine a massive sun on the horizon! Because 55 Cancri e is so close to its star, itโs tidally locked just like our Moon is to the Earth. One side is always bathed in daylight, the other is in perpetual darkness. Itโs also hot. Really hot. So hot that silicate rocks would melt into a molten ocean of melted rock. ITโS COVERED IN AN OCEAN OF LAVA. So, itโs that hot (between 3,140 degrees and 2,420 degrees F).
Scientists think 55 Cancri e also may harbor a thick atmosphere that circulates heat from the dayside to the nightside. Silicate vapor in the atmosphere could condense into sparkling clouds on the cooler, darker nightside that would reflect the lava below. Itโs also possible that it would rain sand on the nightside, but โฆ sparkling skies!

I love desire paths. There's something so wonderous about seeing an echo of humanity. Depending on it's location, a desire path can mean so many different things.
In a city, like the pic above, they represent rebellion, and efficiency. The messiness of humanity. We like to imagine we're oh so logical and neat so we design our cities to be logical and neat an then real humans literally trample on that idea. The ego required to think you can design something perfect that checks every box. Life is all about compromise and patching stuff when some new problem arises. Though people have certainly tried! Ohio state univeristy let students carve their desire paths, and then paved them over. It looks pretty artsy.
Some people will try to discourage desire paths, but this is almost always going to fail.
Eventually, people just have to accept them. Humans are too dang stubborn.
Certain desire paths are just adorable. A 0.5 second time saver. You just can't design for maximum efficiency, humans will always find shortcuts!
Though on occasion a desire path can actually be the least efficient way...especially if you're superstitious.
In a wilder area, such as below, they show us the curiosity of humans. A desire path somewhere natural often tells you there's something interesting just ahead. (Though remember some ecosystems are fragile and will suffer if trampled! Stick to paths in these sorts of areas)
And how about desire stairs? I always think these look so cool. We get see humans determination to climb, to traverse every kind of terrain.
And for something really crazy...a desire path used for centuries will create a 'holloway'
All of these pics are off the Desirepath subreddit, check them out for more examples! And many thanks to the users who submitted these photos.
