Controversial posting time let's go. Trans men DO have it better than trans women but it's not because they have male privilege it's because they don't experience transmisogyny

I saw a post from someone I like on here a while ago saying that trans men have male privilege because they have power over trans women; in particular trans men are able to accuse trans women of things and be more likely to be believed. But this isn't because they're men! It's because transmisogyny is so fucking rampant. Cis WOMEN have power over trans women but they don't have male privilege.

Another example would be like.... Prison. You know, trans women are often sent to male prisons, and it's hard to overstate the violence and abuse they receive there. Trans men who get sent to female prisons are also treated like shit! But I'm not going to pretend that it's the same thing as for trans women, because it isn't. It just fucking isn't.

So this is one area where trans men have privilege over trans women but hopefully it's clear to everyone that it's not male privilege. Fellas is it male privilege to get sent to a woman's prison

Plenty of trans men experience male privelege. I've said that before. This can be easily seen in the numerous examples of trans men saying that they've been treated with more respect since their transition. But... they don't all experience it, and they don't all experience it all the time. Trans men and trans women both face brutal misogyny. But trans women have to face transmisogyny, which is worse.

I honestly am totally fine with the term transandrophobia and people talking about trans issues that trans men face. They're not MRAs in the way people sometimes think. And that's not because they aren't men, it's like... Ok if black men are talking about the oppression they face for being specifically black men, that's not being an MRA. It's true that there are so many ways of oppression and political violence that affect black men in particular. But if they tried to call it misandrynoir or some shit that would be insane. Which is why I'm not a fan of "transmisandry" as a term. It's not fucking misandry because it's not part of a global system of oppression against men. It's some other shit
