The Spaghetti Kiss
Dear Diary,
Today at lunch my friends and I had a really weird conversation about most romantic slop and things that ever happened to us. Eventually, somebody brought a topic of so called ‘spaghetti kiss’ and its animated representation in the old Walt Disney cartoon ‘Lady and the Tramp’.
My friend said that it seems romantic in the cartoon, but is actually disgusting in real life, recalling the story with her ex-boyfriend, where they decided to recreate the scene.
‘It’s funny how I would run away from home for him ....’ she was about to turn to a sad topic, but my other friend wouldn’t allow it.
‘to do the romantic runaway for the sake of the spaghetti kiss. That is officially the most romantic story for today’
Everybody laughed. She laughed. I laughed. Thinking of all stupid things I’ve done because I thought I loved. Loved unconditionally, fully. Loved obsessively. And as noted that evening, obsession is just another form of stupidity. Unfortunately, time is needed to realize it. Realize that life is moving forward and you have to move forward as well and not let anything or anyone keep you at the same old point.

Why does death takes lives so unexpectedly? Why some people can live till they are 100 and others can’t? Why does someone have to face the most terrible death, while others have the peaceful farewell with the loved ones? Aren’t we all equal up there?

The most amazing fact about this picture is that the identity of the “Falling Man” is still an open question. But, certainly, he gave Richard Drew, the photographer who depicted the moment, the most notable work of his life. The full scale of 9/11 tragedy in one powerful shot.

Dear Diary,
Today was a real roller-coaster. It started with the shut-down of heat and hot water in the entire campus where I live. My frustration level was way up to be reached. At least I thought so before realizing that wifi had left the campus as well. It got even worse when the entire university’s wifi got lost somewhere by the shore of Atlantic ocean (don’t know why there, it just came to my mind). No emails, no friends, no mom calling every 5 minutes - there were some benefits to be honest. My appointment with the lector got cancelled as magically as every single printer stopped working in all the university buildings.
Strangely, everything was fine then.
I failed my final exam of the previous semester. Now that was unexpected and thunderstorm-like event for my fragile soul. I never fail any subjects. Ever. Obviously, I could go see my work and talk to the lector about the incident, IF ONLY I WERE BACK AT MY HOME UNI. But I am not there. So, thinking about all the battles in front of my educational road makes me cringe. But I’ll manage. I always do.
Strangely, that wasn’t the highlight of my day.
K called me today, suspiciously proclaiming us to be the Lord and the Lady with some property in Scotland. What?! Well, apparently, this joker thought it would be wonderful to get a 1-foot territory in Scotland, which included the titles for the landowners. AND ALL OF THIS - LEGALLY BINDING.
It made me laugh so much. Really. I forgot my troubles of the day. Together with the news that he will visit me for 10 days, it destroyed every last bit of anger in my head. He always knows how to make me feel better. An extremely suspicious man.
That was all for the day.
