Amber Waves Motif, a free crochet stitch pattern designed by Pendleton Artistry on Ravelry.
"This motif makes a lovely wheat stalk just begging to adorn your next fall project. It lends itself so well to blankets, accent pillows, shawl designs, hats, sweaters, socks, and the single stalk can even be used to create an autumn wristlet design."
listen I am all for fidget toys. But we need to go harder. Humans were actually not meant to sit through lectures without using their hands. Fight against the robotification of humanity. Do fibercrafts in your office/classroom/church. You do not need to sit there like the impassable ideal man. Do fibercrafts. Start embroidering at work. Listen to the call of the strings.
Garter stitch IS underrated and can be beautiful given the correct conditions.
If you (generic) want to explore some really cool and fun uses of garter stitch, I can highly recommend any of Woolly Wormhead's garter stitch hats. The link goes to Ravelry, a bundle of free designs but there are over 300 patterns many of which utilise garter stitch.
But if you find yourself asking "why bother with garter stitch" then maybe try a free hat pattern, which is quick and easy and fun and then you are addicted and you find yourself making dozens of hats and wondering what to do with them all.

Finished this knit a few weeks ago. It’s made with a wool cotton blend and intended for warmer weather. I have problems with the heat so for extra function I made it partially backless. There’s also some drop stitches for a faux worn look.
This was somehow inspired by oklou’s album choke enough that I’ve been really loving!
embroidery from peacockandpinecones my friends and I have been losing our minds over all morning.
when i look up a knitting term, the last thing I want is an ai overview. I want a 60+ year old woman with no understanding of lighting or helpful camera angles who still manages to give the most concise and clear explanation of how to execute purl 2tog through the backloop. ai summary fuck off, where is phyllis?
Hello and welcome back to another Show and Tell Saturday! Show off a finished craft, a work in progress, or a completed trade - what's new in your world this week?
Hello! I was inspired by the recent report of an anglerfish swimming up to the surface

Holy shit, that 2nd picture is terrifying. Well done! The teeth look very sharp.
I finished it

This is the Corvus Scarf by Alasdair Post-Quinn / fallingblox designs and my first ever double knit project i ever did. I. Hecking. Love it. So much.
This HAS to be in my top three things i ever made. Its just such a gorgeous design and was extremely fun to work on.
I started this project over a year ago, when i was still pretty new to knitting, then put it aside and forgot about it until a few weeks ago. It was pretty fun to see how much easier it was for me to pick this back up again than back when i first started it.
Anyway. Someone stop me from jumping right into the next huge project head first. Please - this is a call for help /j
Here’s what the back of a reversible full-sized moth shaped jumper looks like.
forgot to share this aaaa, my top scar vest (V1 ? maybe). this was one of those project ideas that inspired me to learn to knit. i wanted a way to have my tits out without having my tits out ig. i’m so proud of my scars and they are such a good visual metaphor for my journey and identity.
this was done in duplicate stitch on some cheap dk acrylic, but i’d really like to make one in a fingering yarn (and maybe intarsia) instead, and add stuff to the back panel.
the start of many trans art projects❤️🏳️⚧️
awheyy posting here too; its trans day of visible here's the new version of the knitted flag on my jacket
