Missing my cat
The night is dark
I crave your presence
I miss your warmth
My arms are empty
My shelves are stocked, everything in place
But I miss the chaos your paws would make
I miss you running all over the place
Pouncing at a banana as if it was a snake
Demanding attention when I'm busy, too
And laying in my lap purring when I was blue
But life is cruel and you couldn't stay
You had to go, even though our home was your place
You had to leave, and I survived without you
I survived, but I don't think I'll feel alive again
