It's a new year with new projects and id like to be better at posting. So here is my "new" workspace. The extra room is very satisfying.
Flounces and Ruffles

At times, words are used interchangeably to describe certain fabric details. In a fashion journalism context this is generally ok because if someone talks about the âruffledâ or âfrillyâ dress in the collection then itâs usually pretty clear which one they mean. When a designer is talking to a pattern maker, however, communication is key and using certain terminology may mean that you think youâre asking for one thing, when what you actually want is something else entirely.

I made this shirt To test out some new skills -fading double pocket with a layer of vinyl It's very difficult to sew with the vinyl but for a first try I think it went well.
I hated doing spec sheets in school but I started doing them because it's a nice way to show people the layout of what goes into making clothes. And actually I'm kind of loving it now. Everything is more fun when you aren't forced to do it:)
Some photos from the process. I made this shirt for my boyfriends birthday and wanted it to be a surprise so I took measurements and shape from one of his favorite shirts and drafted a pattern from there. I made a mockup for fit (he did see this one before the birthday)
