a small handbuilt bowl designed with skulls carved in using the sgraffito technique 💀🔥
this was super satisfying to make. I think I want to make more with this cascading skull design!
Close ups of some of the doodle-y delights you can find in my new mini zine - Pocket Doodles (Volume 1)
A collection of drawings spanning yeeeeeears that I’ve really quite liked but never done anything with… well, until now!

a big ol’ photo dump of bits and bobs I’ve been working on lately!
made the icon spooky for the season!
although I now don’t want to ever change it back.
Ingrid’s Mug
After making my first mug, rather selfishly for me, I wanted to make one for my best human, @jesuschristingrid!
I knew I wanted to use the grid idea to create contrast between the sgraffito designs and the designs painted on in slip - some images made from adding clay, and some from taking it away. Plus it was so fun to work out the images that I felt best represented Ingrid.
I really love this mug. I love the wibbly pinched walls and the wobbly painted grid.
I have some other finished bits to post soon and I have more work in the pipeline, plus my first ceramics commission! My good friend has set me the task of making some very cool things for her. They’re currently a work in progress.
Ceramics is exciting and the possibilities feel endless right now. It’s almost a bit overwhelming!
The First!
Beginning my journey into ceramics I made this little mug. I incorporated illustrations using sgraffito technique to draw into the slip painted onto the form.
This mug taught me about kiln shrinkage … resulting in the final thing being a tad small. Whoops.
I love it nevertheless. My very first mug!
