Different anon but Eclipse is very important for Subzās characterization, as is S4 Three Heart Trio for Bacon! S4 is the era of Lifesteal that both Bacon and Subz are mourning throughout the two warden arcs, S4 is the season where Subz completely repaired the decimated Spawn post-Dupe War which Bacon is emulating with his spawn repair project in season six (and why he thinks so highly of Subz, basically entirely defining his perspective on who Subz is despite all evidence that Subz is a very different person in the modern day and honestly perhaps was never really who Bacon believed him to be), S4 was the most emotionally invested Subz ever was in Lifesteal and itās story and it lead to a real falling out with Zam that was only properly mended during the S6 wardens, Vitalasy (the other original member of Eclipse with Subz, later joined by Zam) is literally The Reason Subz returned to Lifesteal after leaving in S5 both in his proper rejoining and in him becoming active again during the winter that year because Vi wanted him back on the server then wanted him to participate in his christmas event with him and Zam and the distance between him and Subz (and Subzās desire to be close again despite not knowing how to do so) hangs over Subzās choices (Eclipse Axe) and plays a major part in his feelings of loneliness when you watch his VODs and hear how he talks about him, and Planet (Baconās S4 teammate alongside YeahJaron then later his S6 teammate) being inactive is a big part of Baconās feelings of loneliness and aimlessness that he talks about in his early vcs with Subz and their absence is a big part of why Bacon latches on to Subz the way he does (there are quite a few times after Subz leaves the server where Bacon says something about Subz that is pretty transparently about Planet if you know how their stories progressed). S4 haunts the two warden eras of S6, but quite honestly even past that a lot of the things that happen in S6 areā¦ an echo, i suppose? Or an elaboration? Of things from S4. Spokeās ending in particular is very thematically tied to the Wormhole event and rewriting its conclusion. S4 is also, imo, the best season of lifesteal in terms of VODs, I donāt think anything else is quite as satisfying. I think having the context of S4 enriches S6 a lot, especially Bacon and Subzās specific stories, and it puts a lot of things into perspective. Thereās a lot of very good writing on the events of Season Four, but if you havenāt read it, Barrier Blocks by Myrmica is a foundational lifesteal text and sells what makes Eclipse Fed so special better than I ever could

But lowkey,,,this has thoroughly convinced me to watch s4 stuff- you're a very convincing writer im very interested in how you phrased s4 being what they are "mourning" and "echoing", this warden arc has so much more grief subtext than just what i was bullshitting and im dying to know more ououhg
I guess i kinda figured some type of real falling out happened before s6ish because of Subz's own warden arc video, but i did not realizeee it happened during/because of a season is the nicest way to put it i guess. Very nice context to know how attached subz was to s4 and why he returned (and his relations) as i actually did not know why hee really left at all. Just imagine me as the nodding emoji as i say all of this im very grateful
ALSO, knew of three heart trio (avid fic reader), did nott know that was during s4,,or that was another source of echoing for s6. i know nothing,,,but i am happy to be learning! While fic writing i kinda assumed s5 wouldve been more of a place off regret(?) i guess? But it makes sm sense that like during the inactivity grief filled arc that s4 would be the thing that fills the arc because of 1. inactive team and 2. like all the subz characterization,,,,it makes so much sense i may be dumb
Im soo grateful for you askers for bringing up the eclipse federation bc like. i probably wouldnt have gone out of my way to see if anything mattered there for warden arc cause of my assumptions and newgen-ness so like, thank you so much. Warden arc probably isn't leaving my mind anytime soon and i do want to make attempts at writing more about it so knowing that s4 could help that is really great!!!!
