The name JENNIE, traditionally a nickname of Jennifer, originates from the Welsh name Gwenhwyfar, often associated with meanings such as “fair,” “white,” or “light.” in many cultures, whiteness and light represent renewal and new beginnings. at the same time, as a shortened and self-chosen form of a longer name, JENNIE suggests transformation and self-definition; a diminutive implies evolution, a conscious reshaping of identity. in a group composed of members from different cultural backgrounds, the name is a reflection of the fluidity of identity in a multicultural world, where growth comes from experience, exchange, and continual reinvention.

After 4 long years, ADOR debuts a global girl group named JENNIE, composed of five members:

Charlotte, Lize, Hyein and Minji and their leader Salome

note: following newjeans' legal battles and unfortunate disbandment, the last two members decided to stay with the company and were therefore placed in the group with the three trainees.

born into the chanel family, charlotte chanel has harboured a passion for performing when she discovered ballet at the age of 3. after entering the paris opera ballet academy, she persued he love for dance while taking singing lessons alongside her schooling, and continuing to sharpen her talents for guitar and piano playing. through her sister christine, she discovered kpop, ultimately falling in love with the genre. during the covid era, she discovered her talent for producing music, allowing her to create songs, combining beautiful melodies and heartfelt lyrics. at the start of summer'24, she auditioned for ADOR, which she passed, and she trained for about a year and a half alongside her members charlize (today known as her stage name lize), and salome and ultimately debuting under the global girl group JENNIE.

during their trainee era, the girls got close with bighit's boy group CORTIS, and the two groups are often seen hanging out in seoul.

even after his debut, CORTIS' seonghyeon and JENNIE's charlotte have remained close friends, and nothing more (is that so??), and the two are often jokingly teased by their respective members for how they act around each other, which is of course ridiculous as the two are just friends. right?

however, during group hangouts at one of the dorms, the two teens find themselves drifting to each other, away from the group, sharing both meaningful and playful conversations under seoul's quiet atmosphere, and sharing soft glances in the gentle breeze. sitting on the balcony with the young idol, charlotte feels her face reddening under his gaze due to the winter air nipping at her cheeks. she also sees herself shying away from him at times, despite their close friendship.
