Nah, it’s alright. I’ve taken martial arts since I was a kid and enjoy that just as much. There was more fun for me in the military so I took that opportunity. Still interested in the science end though, don’t get me wrong.

Takes all kinds of people to make a ship run. Do you think I could watch you practise some day? It's very fascinating to me, how the human body works with that much training.

I was working on some research before the alarms went off. System probably shut all my data off, but I can reboot and show you some stuff?

Believe it or not, I love all the sciencey stuff. Not sure if it’s under my definition of fun but it’s under interesting at the very least.

Why did you choose the military then? I mean, if you don't mind me asking. I just don't understand how anyone could make that choice.

I’d rather it stay quiet all the way back to Earth II, to be quite honest. All that ruckus is all annoyance and not exactly what I would call “fun”.

It's been relatively quiet around here. Day five without incident -  I'm never sure to feel nervous or relaxed when nobody gets into trouble for this long.

It really depends on how many people are stuck how many places. And how long this bunch wants to sit quiet and wait it out. Any other news floating around?

Not quite sure, we haven't really gotten much news from "the outside" but let's hope it's soon. Really don't want to be caught in the same room as some of the soldiers when they get restless.

Felix frowned slightly, the thought of the ship coming apart around them more than a little disconcerting. “Thankfully, Ruth isn’t known to be a paragon of accuracy in serious matters. We’re probably safe from that.”

Shelley cocked his head, jerking the corner of his lips cheekily. "I don't know, spiralling endlessly through space seems like a rather good way to go for me."

Felix looked around at his fellow crewmates as they assembled in the mess hall as instructed by the intercom. He leaned against the table and surveyed the room for a moment before turning to the person next to him.

"I can’t remember the last time we had one of these. What are the odds it’s a drill, you think?"

Shelley shrugged, staring straight ahead at another group of crew members. His head was buzzing with too much coffee. "More than the odds that the ship's actually falling apart. That's what Ruth was going on about anyway."

Back in the damn mess hall. This is probably gonna take a bit of clean up…

Captain's got all hands on deck so we should get this done soon, maybe.

That sounds quite nice, actually. Potentially claustrophobia-inducing but, nice. Do you have to share it with your co-pilot, is that where the “sex then sleep” comes in?
