hey I'm really new to this. this being kemetic paganism or even religion as a whole. idk if anyone out there really cares who I am, but I previously pretty recently identified as agnostic. but through experiences shared with friends, loved ones, and strangers and openmindedness, I think I'm comfortable labeling myself as a kemetic pagan. I previously didn't hold much faith in spiritualism or any sort of religion, because I don't think I'd felt anything or experienced things out of the ordinary. but personally I think that there are energies, powers unexplained out there. I'm into the theory that human belief is powerful, and if enough belief and energy is brought into the world, something either manifests or is shaped into that belief. It's just my personal opinion. I'm trying to navigate this world I've never known before respectfully and cautiously, doing as much research as I can. If I make a mistake please please PLEASE tell me. I don't want to offend anyone at all, be they human or spirit or deity.

🪦Subtle Akhu Worship⚰️

Greatly inspired by @khaire-traveler's wonderful subtle worship series, which can be found here.

Visit cemeteries; leave flowers at graves (with permission); or help clean up gravesites (if allowed)

Offer food and water to them, especially food that you made yourself

Wear a piece of jewelry or other clothing item that reminds you of them

Carry a picture of them in your wallet, pocket, phone case, etc. or as a phone or computer wallpaper

Hold onto any family heirlooms; keep items from people who have passed in your life

Make a family recipe

Learn a language they spoke

Learn about your family history/genealogy

Allow yourself to mourn over difficult changes or the end of relationships; allow yourself to miss people

Write your own offering formulas for the dead and say them for them

Learn about death; acquaint yourself with the idea of death; figure out what you believe happens after death

Make charms/other items for deceased loved ones and leave them on their gravesites (if possible) or on an ancestor altar

Tell stories about them; make sure they are remembered

Write letters to them (historically these letters would include petitions for help)

Visit a museum or similar institution that has mummies or other Egyptian funerary artifacts and say a quick verbal offering for them/the owners of the objects

Say a quick verbal offering for them whenever you think of them or as part of a preexisting ritual/routine

I dreamt briefly of Hathor last night. She was the Egyptian goddess of love, joy, music, and motherhood. She was also a protector of the dead, guiding them safely into the afterlife. This is one of my all time favorite and best pieces IMHO, and very appropriate to my life personally right now. Her kindness, love, and reassurance is a balm. Prints Here Wood Pendants Here

The term "book of the dead" doesnt really give you perspective to how big a lot of Egyptian funerary texts are.

Imhoteps book of the Dead is 64 feet long.

the average printed page is 6 inches wide. so if a book is 128 pages, its 64 ft long. I dont think I own a book with fewer than 128 pages.
