Gathering Intel from Older Models

I like to think Grounder and Scratch were taken off Sonic duty, but were reassigned to guard a warehouse of unfinished inventions or something.

Robotnik doesn’t consider them his kids, so they’re more like cousins to Sage and Metal. On one hand, you might think they’d be jealous of them for being Robotnik’s favorites, but on the other they’d probably just be excited to have new cousins.

I just finished binging the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Show for the first time and I may be losing my marbles.

It’s too bad Alcyone spent all her time in the castle wallowing in season 2.

Imagine coming back and finding the (formerly??) money-obsessed dancer dating the soldier that your crush had mind-controlled to work for him.

Also the kid you betrayed and whose friend you killed has grown like 3 feet and is taller than you now.

Jokes aside Lafarga would melt of embarrassment if he was caught being cute with Caldina.

I’ve got the rough idea for Alcyone reacting to Ascot somewhere.

I know Alcyone didn’t have much of a personality beyond “I love Zagato”, but between the anime, book, and the sega game, I think we can put together that she’s always had a snarky, self-important attitude. Alcyone will obviously fight for things that she is passionate about, but the dark side of passion is that it can turn into obsession, and once she loses her obsession she loses her purpose.

Congratulations to Zagato's crown for being my new least favorite thing to draw.

Back with another Draw the Squad, since I've been busy of late. I think the base for this one is from Nemhain From Void? At least that's where I found it, if I'm wrong on that please let me know.

As usual sketch and bonus rambles below the cut.

There's a couple differences from the sketch, the most notable being Inova's ears. They looked weird when I tried to outline them, so I switched the direction.

Zagato's crown is a mashup of the one from the book and the show, I ended up fussing with it until it came out with something I liked. I might end up just drawing my own reference sheets for these guys at some point. Inova's and Lafarga's shoes are a particular pain to locate the references for, and it would help me feel more consistent. Also Caldina's jewelry keep changing pinks.

I didn't like the borders originally, but I don't think they look too bad now. Background probably should have been a dark purple though.

Also I don’t think I’ve ever drawn Zagato and Alcyone at the same time before. If I was told they were secretly siblings I’d believe it, I’m pretty sure they could be put on siblings or dating.
