So yesterday I went to see the #LetsConnectPhilly exhibition that I am a part of at The @BarnesFoundation. Not only was I in awe of all the amazing pieces that were created to make this show happen but I felt so honored to have my art hung next to these vastly talented artists. As I looked around I was very aware, moved, and a bit overwhelmed that my art is hanging in the same building on the same walls and just mere feet away from some of the most recognizable artists of our time such as Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet, and Degas. As well as tons of tribal art from around the world. I teared up when I thought of it. It means a lot to me on the 10th anniversary of being an artist. If you have time and you would like to support the show as well as vote for me you can get free entry into #TheBarnes to see the entire collection and vote for your favorite #LetsConnect pieces thru JUNE 4TH 8PM. My artwork number #1206 (which by the way is the reverse of my birthday which is 06/12. Lol) I voted for 10 pieces including myself and several artist that I know personally and support(@seanmartorana, @just_e_b, @layniex). But I also voted for artists that I thought would be great having a residency at the Barnes based on their sites and pieces. I'm looking forward to seeing who will be chosen along with me 😉. Trying to get back into #MyArt this past year & a half so many things kept me from doing art; relationship issues, bad living situation, depression, family crisis, work, and simply losing motivation from dealing with all these things. Not sure about you but this made me a bit emotional. #SmallBlueDot it made me re-realize the enormity and minutia that is us, our planet, and our lives. To realize that you are infinitely important while being simultaneously insignificant is scary yet freeing.
