Welcome back Esra I missed you

Soooo To Fend for Oneself is back with a sequel (because you know I had to) so it was time to redraw my baby Chrys after all this time AND @travers-de-comic 's Persimmon because they will smooch in this one.
My baby Chrys, now armed with a sentient weapon and ready to smack some Titan (and smooch another).

Let me just say you're probably the only ever thesezag lover I've found around here. You get the Theseus hype my friend I am not alone anymore let us shake hands.
AYO I JUST GOT IN THIS FANDOM AND AM STARTLED BY HOW LITTLE PEOPLE ARE SHIPPING THEM. Theres SO MUCH potential for them, like they can go so many ways. I adore it sm
Listen even Tumblr and ao3 have SO LITTLE CONTENT I'm here checking the tags regularly dying for content. I'm left here doing the yarn of Ariadne bonus dialogues all over again for crumbs of my dumbass boys.
i have already read most things on ao3, sobbing crying
just. The potential. How good or bad Zagreus is when fighting him, how aware Theseus is or isn't about who Zagreus Actually Is. I even got an idea where theseus doesn't know ab the pact of punishment ( or doesnt listen) based on how he thinks extreme measures is a reward for his efforts. Imagine the fit he would throw knowing that Zagreus is literally debilitated while fighting him (winning or not, maybe he wouldnt think its an "honorable" fight yknow. Gets a stick up his ass about it, causes a scene.) Like theres SO MUCH
And like, okay listen everyone raves about the drama and angst in the Meg/Zag/Than polycule but why does no one think about what Theseus/Zagreus/Asterius could be- like the drama. The fighting. The angst. The raw emotion. Eating my desk and throwing things rn.

I needed to get this out of my head, but on a scale of one to Zagreus pranking Orpheus about his relationship with Dionysus, the absolute most hilarious thing in Hades is by FAR extreme measures Theseus.
I mean, listen. I was not prepared. For any of this bossfight. First you have Asterius in armour and I went 'oh shit I'm gonna get destroyed' but then Theseus shows up with not one, but two gatlings and an armored chariot, all while looking absolutely ridiculous with his stupid golden mask -save me I love him- I panic and just "WHO THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO GIVE THESEUS A GUN" you get me.
So at this point I'm stifling a laugh, because the bossfight starts and I know it's gonna be hard as shit, and guess what, it is. And I'm so focused on Asterius because that mf has so much range now and he just never stops and it's a pain to dodge.
And then, THEN, as I'm so focused, tense, life or death situation, I see fucking Theseus rolling at the edge of my vision field, laughing like a maniac and firing his machine guns like pew pew pew pew pew and THAT is when I lost it. I burst out laughing and got subsequently hit by an axe in the face.
Moral of the story: extreme measures Theseus cracks me up to levels I did not think were reachable (truth is, I'm snorting just thinking about it) and it baffles me that I saw no one talk about it. Like can we just sit down and appreciate the fact that on top of his stupidity, Theseus is even more unhinged than what the fandom portrays him to be-

Sometimes I'll think life is bland and devoid of love and then I'll remember the people who hum they favourite songs when they do chores. Who make playlists based on fictional characters. Who read their books several times, annotating their favorite moments. Who will leave the last biscuit in the box for their roomate. Who smile at strangers on the subway. Who give names to their inanimate objects. Who look up their friends' hyperfixations to know more about them. Who will listen to a song and send it to a specific person because "it made me think of you".
And then I smile.
Commenters are the real MVPs
I am not an Achilles apologist, that dude is a terrible person (but I still love him. In the 'I see your hubris and broken morals are going to destroy you and I fuckin' love it' kinda way.)
I am, however, a Menelaus apologist. The dude loves his wife so much. If he ever did anything wrong in his life, you are wrong it never happened. I said so.
@ fic readers who write play by play comments that highlight your favorite passages and why you like them, please know you are the best humans to exist and please don’t stop what you’re doing
150 hours playing Hades and I still cannot BELIEVE we were robbed of so many romances with excellent potential. Don't get me wrong, I really like Thanatos and Meg, but like... That one shade in Elysium? Sisyphus? Hypnos?? How is there not a route where Zag helps him have faith in him by being head over heels for the twink nobody even glances at? And don't get me started on Theseus. Those two could have had the most satisfying enemies to friends to lovers dynamic. Howling at the moon and craving fics don't mind me.
doodl
Still reading the Odyssey. How have I never seen anyone bring up a headcanon that Odysseus becomes scared shitless of the ocean after finally coming home to Ithaca? I'm talking mental-breakdown inducing phobia.
The man has spent TEN YEARS lost at sea. Each time he reached land, Poseidon was here to try to drown him. His twelve ships with six hundred men sunk. And later on, when Alcinoos' men sailed him back to Ithaca, Poseidon sunk that ship too. It just never ends. Odysseus has seen hundreds of men, friends, die at sea, he's been whipped by waves, choked by salt, he faced Charybdis on his own, nearly drowned more times than he can count, all of this to finally reach home knowing his journey has drowned hundreds of innocent people.
I'm telling you he'd never heal from that shit. After he finally reclaims the throne of Ithaca, maybe Telemachus mentions that some of his father's old friends are still waiting for news of him, that Nestor has no idea he managed to go home and that Menelaus weeps whenever he thinks of him.
So Odysseus agrees to follow his son to Pylos and Sparta, having to sail across the sea once again, and although the trip goes smoothly it's a living nightmare for Odysseus. The moment the ship departs, he prays Poseidon with all his might, begging him to spare his son. He can't stop puking and crying, choking on his own erratic breath, hallucinating and going paranoid. For a few days Telemachus really thinks he's fallen ill. The trip back is just as terrible and Telemachus has no idea how to comfort his father or to make him understand that the seas are safe for him now, as well as for all the people who travel with him.
Yet another reason why Odysseus needs to spend the rest of his life in a Penelope/Diomedes sandwich hug, I rest my case.
Recently started reading the Odyssey and boy I was aware that Odysseus is just downright miserable in this one but I hadn't grasped how much.
I read through books one to six and the man spends his time wishing for a few minutes of sleep and begging every stranger he meets for help. Please just let the man go home he's seen enough shit-
A challenge for all my Hades nerds out there: try to find out what this tier list is about. I will not give a single hint or answer you are warned. Keep guessing.
I wish the fury and the pain in me could drive me to carve and eat you raw for what you did
do you feel any better? do you?
