Connecting to witchcraft again ~✨🌹
This for the people who maybe don’t feel as interested in witchcraft as they used to and what to get back into it. Maybe you’ve tried doing a deep dive into all things witchcraft and came out disappointed.
Firstly ✨🌹
Maybe you need to actually dedicate some time to your craft. ✨
In order to actually get good at something or get back into something, you need to actually practice it and if its important enough to you. It could be time to stop reblogging and scrolling through witchy posts and actually put some things to the test.
Maybe you’re in a lull 🌹
Literally, a lull is a temporary interval of quiet or lack of activity.
Magically, though, it’s a time where you can’t do something because energetically you’re tired. This is completely normal! Everyone has these energetic collapses, and anything really can energetically stunt you. Stress, anxiety, your emotions in general, burning yourself out, etc. Maybe you’re out of practice and that caused you to have a lull.
For me, lulls are something I just completely pull myself out of. Instead, I typically implement small witchy things into my daily life.
Take care of your health ✨
Whether it be physical, mental, you need to take care of your health! This can have a massive effect on the flow of energy, how motivated you feel, how spells work for you, etc. It controls a lot.
Look into yourself rather than others 🌹
When looking for magical healing, we often look to others and what they are doing. we may forget that we are different people and we have different needs. I think that it’s a good start to find help, but you shouldn't rely on someone else to tell you what to do.
Start at the beginning - go back to the basics ✨🌹
Meditation ✨
I think that most people would say that mediation is a good foundation for a practice. I would say that it really helps you be more present and calmer. It seriously will give your brain a break and its great. It’s the only thing that I've found that does that for me. (and I’m literally the easily distracted person ever) You don’t even have to do it every day starting out, because it will be super hard getting into it. I listen to guided ones otherwise I get super distracted. I use Headspace and its great! They have a mediation for like everything! They have 10 meditations that are free, but if you want access to more then you would have to pay for a subscription. If you are a student though, you can get it for $9.99 for a whole year of Headspace okay so this sounded sponsored as heck but it wasn’t lollll
Maybe look over the types of witches/basics of witchcraft again🌹
Starting over is never a bad thing, not to mention it can be a good way to find a new practice. Having a “beginners mindset” is always good. Keep in mind, that you will never be at a place where there is absolutely nothing new for you to learn! You could look back into sigils, everyday witchcraft, the elements, crystals, spell types, the energy points, casting a circle.
that being said Don’t rely on outside sources like Tumblr to build your practice completely ✨
Yea sure Tumblr is a great resource for information and for me it is super useful, but it is your responsibility to take information and then somehow adapt it to you and your needs (but this is just my opinion, take this with a grain of salt)
Lastly ✨🌹
Once you finally have gotten more connected to your practice again, don’t spread yourself thin! ✨
What I mean by this is, if you do readings don’t do too many because you’re excited, or don’t take on to many spells….don’t overextend yourself.
Start small implement a morning or night ritual! 🌹
It can be either or both! if you need help coming up with one specifically for yourself, feel free to message me and we can think of something together.
Some Extra Things ✨🌹
These are things to spice up your practice, maybe if you just need something more to do.
Finding a new path of witchcraft to focus on!✨
It could be that you just aren’t connected to the path you are on
Buy a witchy book 🌹
Books like The Green Witch by Arin Murphy, Basic Witches by Jaya Saxena and Jess Zimmerman, The Witch’s Book of Self-Care by Arin Murphy, Wicca By Harmony Nice.
Find a group of witches ✨
Online or otherwise! Tumblr is crawling with witches looking for a community maybe contact one of them to create one! even me tbh!
Possibly get a mentor(s) 🌹
Sometimes having someone who holds you accountable and checks into your progress can make you want to do good! It could be very good for productivity!
Incorporate what you love in your mundane life into your magical life! ✨
ex) tea, technology, books, music, journaling, video games ( one that I incorporate is animal crossing etc.
Sometimes its fun to have a witchy idol! 🌹
What I mean by this is a character from maybe a cartoon that was a witch or someone that has powers! I’ve heard of people using Hermione, Elaine from the Love Witch, Akko, Sucy, Lotte, and Diana from Little Witch Academia. Recently, I’ve been finding inspiration in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the witches in it just seem too cool!
Oaks, 1887, Ivan Shishkin
Medium: oil, canvas
Purpose: To help time heal certain painful wounds.
You Will Need: Mint (seeds or a plant ready for potting). A pin or needle. A pot and soil (or, if the season is right, an section of your garden).
Notes: This spell involves drawing blood. If you are unable, you can substitute tears for blood.
Step One - Fill your pot with soil and spread your seeds as you normally would when planting.
Step Two - Prick your finger and squeeze a few drops of blood over the seeds (or, if you’re using a starter plant, the roots). Recite:
Mint plant, creature of healing, I ask you for help and relief. To make me strong, To right the wrongs, To end the heartache, To end the grief. As you grow and move toward the light, so let me grow, and move out of the darkness.
Step Three - Cover the seeds and water them.
Step Four - Keep tending, using, and growing your plant; keeping in mind that you will heal as it grows well.
Witchcraft is all about intent.
Your spells can be single lines or words. Your sigils can be simple shapes. You dont have to have extravagant spells or rituals to be a witch. Simply thinking things can put things into action. You are powerful no matter how you practice. You. Are. Amazing.
on adapting prayers and poems (without being a jackass)
Dear pagan community: stop replacing “God” with “Goddess” in Jewish, Christian, or Muslim prayers and acting like you’ve invented something. (Don’t do this to other religions either, but it happens most to the Abrahamic faiths.)These “pagan” prayers are disrespectful to the religions you’ve stolen them from as well as disrespectful to your own religion (because it’s lazy and it’s rude), and on top of that, they’re aesthetically displeasing. The main reason they sound bad is because you’ve ruined the meter. You’ve added an extra syllable and changed the stress patterns. You have taken something beautiful, something so lovely you desired to have it as your own, and you’ve damaged the music of it.
Instead of doing that kind of hideous word replacement, try taking the prayer, looking at the ideas and the imagery, and translating those to be relevant to your own faith. Here, let’s try this with Psalm 23:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Possibly you like this Psalm solely because of the Renaissance English. Good news there is that’s just grammar and you can apply it to literally anything ever written. Feel free to message me some doggerel and I will King James it right up for you.
More likely, you either want a prayer of reassurance and protection or you like the images of a shepherd and a feast.
If the first, think about what images suggest safety, comfort, and protection to you. Then build on those:
The Lady is my comfort and mentor; I am guided by Her wisdom.
When I am lost in a fog of uncertainty, She guides my feet; She lights the lamps by which I set my course.
Even when I am threatened or afraid — fears of my own making or of others’ — She comforts me; She reminds me of my strength. The Lady is a Warrior, and She is my shield.
In Her presence, I have an eternal refuge; perfect love casts out all evil. Always, She will help me stand like a resolute flame against fear and harm.
Look at that. That’s a perfectly serviceable prayer that I just wrote in about three minutes of effort. It doesn’t plagiarize or disrespect anyone else’s religion, and it doesn’t rely on anyone else’s religion to give it context. Which should be your goal, right? You want your own religious trappings? Well, this is how you get them. You create them.
If you preferred the second option — images of a lamb with a shepherd and a feast and blessing — the process is the same. Take what you actually like and make it personal to you and your beliefs.
When I am conflicted and caught between options, the God of the Wilds makes His voice known to me, a song of forest leaves in the wind.
When I am anxious over leaving my comfort zone, He leads me as gently as a shepherd with a new lamb.
When I am caught up in daily life, tired, worn, and impatient, He soothes me; He reminds me that I am His precious child and deserve better care.
Surely my God blesses me; surely within His arms I am made whole.
Again, about three minutes of effort. The point here is to stop lifting poems and prayers whole-cloth from other religions, because that’s rude, probably ethically icky, and lazy, and instead to draw inspiration from them. If you find a prayer beautiful or moving, look at why instead of just taking it. That way, you can create something of true meaning that is specifically for your faith and your gods. Isn’t that a better offering? (And won’t it cut down on the number of poetically-butchered BS prayer thefts I have to read in the tags?)
**A final note: I’m quite sure someone will read this and go “But I can’t write prayers! I’m terrible at words!” First of all, you’re probably wrong, and words that come from your heart are always going to be a better offering or prayer than a prayer written for a different god entirely. Second of all, that’s okay because I can. Send me a message and we’ll work something out.
I went back to see who wrote this and wasn’t the least bit surprised, lol. Love it!
Modern Witches Daily - “Anyone can be a Witch”.
Here is the new page of the comic! There are some of my characters here, random ones too and others, inspired by your requests ♥
“Anyone can be a witch” is a very important theme! To me, everyone can do and be whatever they want! And, in that case, anyone can be a witch, any girl or boy, trans or non-binary person, old, young, Indian, Asian, black people or people from any country, any disabled and sick people, anyone and everyone can be a witch! Because I think this quote sums everything up, “Witches don’t look like anything, Witches are, Witches do.” ✨🌿🌘🔮
Lots of love to all the witches of this world ✧*:・゚🌍

The Fair Folk
The Wild Hunt
When the winter winds blow and the Yule fires are lit, it is best to stay indoors, safely shut away from the dark paths and the wild heaths.
Hot apple cider, magickal woman style. 🍎❤️
Some kitchen witchery for you guys tonight! This is what I use to make hot apple cider. It is my FAVOURITE autumn/winter drink and it’s perfect for any meals you make for Mabon. Super uplifting and comforting! I will list ingredients and their magickal benefits here.
Pure unpasteurized apple cider - you can make this yourself but I just buy it from a local family owned apple orchard that I love supporting.
Whole Allspice - Allspice is associated with the fire element so it is physically warming as well as mentally uplifting and healing.
Cinnamon sticks/ground - Cinnamon is also associated with the fire element. Warming, uplifting, healing, promotes love. It is also known to enhance the male libido (😉)
Nutmeg - Increases clairvoyance, and clear sight. If a beverage with nutmeg is shared between you and another person, it encourages romantic love.
Apples are associated with love, fertility, marriage, and beauty. Oranges are said to bring joy. Coincidentally all of the spices I have in this recipe are great for money and love spells as well! 😊
🍎1L unpasteurized pure apple cider Put in pot, on low heat on the stove 🍎Cut a medium orange into slices and put slices into the cider 🍎If using cinnamon sticks, you can just read put these right into the cider. If using ground, put the cinnamon, nutmeg and whole allspice into a tea bag or infuser and put into cider 🍎Leave on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally and serve!
Not only is this super delicious but it makes your house smell AMAZING!
Enjoy friends, blessings❤️🍎
🍂🍎Blessed Mabon!🍂🍎

A Lesson for Young Witches
If you cannot find representations for a given element, remember…
You are supported by a rigid skeleton made of minerals. You are earth.
Your body is over 70% fluid. You are water.
Your lungs take in and expel breath. You are air.
Your blood is warm and your brain runs on electrical impulses. You are fire.
Your essence, however you describe it, resides within you. You are spirit.
You are composed of gifts from every element, and every element is given marvelous life in you.
Never feel that you are insufficiently magical for lack of icons or accoutrements or accessories.
You are ALWAYS magic. You are ALWAYS enough.
