probably my most cynical take yet but i think that male supremacy was not originally enabled nor has it been maintained by male physical strength. you know, like, “once upon a time, men were able to dominate women because they have bigger muscles”? the implicit idea is that women are inherently inferior to males, if only physically.
on the contrary, i think males have exploited women’s superiority - our superior humanity - our ability to feel love, respect, empathy, and compassion, and our rationality in observing that violence is rarely a good solution. (those are the traits that men claim separate humans from animals, although they themselves do not possess those traits.)
men are willing to torment and kill anyone, there is no familial or romantic bond or sense of altruism that will stop them from murdering or raping. i mean, they do it for fun! i think women simply care too much for men to fight back against them. i think when it comes down to it, we don’t fear being hurt, we fear hurting our fathers, brothers, and sons; our fellow humans.
