I’m such a chicken when it comes to Misty tbh

#she’s head canonically autistic and because I’m the author it basically means she IS autistic #Misty #recovery house #mimi speaks #but here’s my issue I’m such a chicken because I DONT have autism so I worry that I’m not going to give her accurate representation #and my bigger fear is that it’ll come off as ‘Misty acts the way she does because she’s autistic’ but like no #her crazy psycho behaviour comes from the fact that she’s a traumatized fairy and also the fact that she’s a FAIRY with fairy instincts #in my head her autism isn’t like a defining part of her personality that affects her in any negative way yk it’s just there 😭#it slightly impacts her social behaviours and connections she has with people *cough* Eli but other than that like #I don’t feel the need to address it #like #do you get what I’m saying #in my head yes she’s autistic but it’s not something I feel the need to explicitly SAY out loud in a oneshot #because that’s not what her story is about #idk I’m rambling does this sound stupid #I just wanna do her justice #idek when I came to this decision #and again #big huge massive fear of not offering good representation #which is why I lowkey consider it a head canon #you can hc Misty as autistic that works because uh yeah I agree with you #once I eventually release more on her LOL #I’m acting like the oneshots in my drafts have been posted yet but alas they haven’t.#so no one knows what I’m talking about #yeah. in summary. #mimi speaks #Hattie #recovery house #Mad Little Hatter #because I don’t wanna sit here and keep saying ‘omfg Hattie effing pees herself’ because like it’s not about the piss…#like she’s so utterly horrified that she does THAT yk. idk how to explain how personal this feels to me #and the horror I felt while writing it just THINKING about people taking it the wrong way instead of as a genuine trauma response #like I want to bring attention to it too I don’t just wanna brush over it for the sake of ‘not making it weird’#it’s such a pivotal turning point for her because not only does Jonah not make a fuss about it #but he also immediately moves to wash HER up instead of the table #and then changes her shirt using a method that preserves her dignity rather than just effing stripping her down 😭#she appreciates that sm in the long run #like #Hattie is definitely a good example of one of those fairies that hates everyone at first and only gaf about Jonah because of his actions #it’s like #she was in a situation as an adult that could have been the most embarrassing terrible traumatic event of her life #and Jonah turns it into a caregiving experience #he never brings it up again unless she does by herself #like omg Hattie my girlie

Misty used to just be a crier. Like non stop tears with that one. But then her storyline became something I promote rather than just something up in my head so I felt the need to give her more of a personality… but high key all she does is cry icl

Early wattpad g/t was definitely something else but I do think it was stunning for introducing me to “borrower caught in glue trap” as well as “giant-human-mixed-sized-schools” and “little one x100” and “tiny sleeping on giant’s chest with hand cupped over them” and “tiny being locked in a drawer with a huff” etc etc etc. because omg those tropes were so overused like they’d be in EVERY SINGLE FIC but wow I was devouring them.

#Jelissa #mimi speaks #recovery house #Shawn and Jelissa #Shawn is a really social person and a lot of the fae are too #but she isn’t because she feels limited by her speech impediment so at first she high key excludes herself from conversations with him #but that doesn’t stop the knot in her chest from forming anytime she sees someone else on his shoulder or asleep on his lap #or curled up in his hands etc #she gets so jelly #but not in a red hot anger kinda way #more like #she’s going to cry any second now and maybe throw up #kinda way

Tiny who has powers but is too inexperienced with them or hasn’t fully “tapped into their potential”. Giant who’s in a really bad fight or put in danger to the point where the tiny is so riled up and frustrated that they aren’t able to do anything to help, their size being the obvious limiting factor.

Giant is pinned by the throat against a wall, or thrashing in someone’s grip, etc, when all of a sudden there’s a massive flash of light, or a zing, a bang, SOMETHING. The tiny is across the room from them, shaking, furious, practically in tears after using every ounce of strength they had to conjure up a spell or zap to help the giant out ☹️

And everyone’s just in pure shock because someone so little just did SO much damage.
