whenever the conversation about difficulty and accessibility in games come up i want to slam my head into a wall because noone thats speaking has anything more than a surface level understanding of what "difficulty" even is
your game should have accessibility options, but if your only accessibility options are "turn off central game mechanics" then you have made shit accessibility options.
you know what accessibility option doesnt completely fucking butcher your game while allowing almost everyone to play it? an option that is not available in 99.99% of all games ever made? easy:
bonus points: if you put a game speed slider in your game you can also allow Absolute Fucking Freaks to turn it higher than 100%
Purple Frog (Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis), female, family Nasikabatrachidae, endemic to the Western Ghats of India
Adult frog described in 2003. The juvenile frog was described in 1917. (Though, of course, the adult frog was known by local people).
This frog spends most of its life underground, and emerges to mate during monsoon rains.
Unlike many burrowing frogs, which emerge to feed above ground, this species feeds on termites underground (as well as feeding above).
Females are more purplish, and males are more brownish (and much smaller).

my favorite comprehensible math fact is that 1 + 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 + 1/32... all the way on, forever, equals exactly 2. and i love it because it sounds totally mystical and then you see the proof for it and its just like a little drawing that makes you go, oh, right, duh. like all you need is a square that you have decided has an area of 2, and then you just start coloring in.
i see what you're referring to, but that "never get that final block in place" thing is what infinity is for. the infinity is kind of for the moment when you do the final thing in a never ending pattern. its the last number. there is no last number. its there. you can see it. you cannot get there. but what if you did? then you'd be at two. you are at two. you measure the corners of your house. its a little bigger on the inside than the out. hm.
uh oh.
we dont talk about the ramanujan sum in this house. that is an incomprehensible math fact and the way that it repeatedly pops up in high level physics is proof that there is something wrong with our high level physics, or something wrong with the idea of addition itself. it scares me. genuinely.

people really believe this? that's obviously a human archer

Thanks @quandocoeli a good post
@blumineck is this like specific training that horseback archers are given for this kind of thing?

already can't pretend to care about the male loneliness epidemic because it isn't real but listening to the way men actually talk about their friends/what they think friendship entails makes me care even less sorry
read an AITA earlier today about a guy who would walk his female friend home to her dorm very often UNTIL she rejected his romantic advances*, then when she asks him to walk her home bc she's drunk and feels unsafe he says no. Men in the comments were clamoring to insist he "didn't owe her anything" and that she was a deceptive harpy who wanted to use her #femaleprivilege to get "special treatment"
and idkkkkkkk that could never be me sorry!! wym you don't care about your friends safety and are willing to mildly inconvenience yourself to ensure they are okay? no compassion or care for the people in your life but its an "epidemic" when you don't have friends? lol
#my favorite thing about every invented problem men have that is dire and world ending #is that it's none of their responsibility to fix it #'if men can't talk about their feelings are you making an effort to do that and check in with your friends?' #'no I'm acting exactly the same but now when I'm called out on being a dick I have an excuse that says it isn't my fault :)' #and now men being bad friends is women's job to fix not theirs lmao
⬆️ i've only ever seen the "male loneliness epidemic" used as a means to scold women. never as an encouragement for men to be better friends to each other
#also as far as i can tell the social penalty for men being good friends to people#is being perceived as feminine and/or gay#which.#if you're going to let your repulsion for women and gay men stop you from having friends#that seems like a you problem!
after much deliberation I have completed a simple task that took me less than 10 minutes, and I'm happy to report that this time it only cost me about 3 days of dread

If I ever see any of you in public, the code is “I like your shoelaces”

World Heritage Post
the poster that this incredible illustration is based on is extremely striking. but while searching for it, I also found earlier posters for conveying this message along with a corresponding one for summer, and I fucking love them. absolutely lovely graphic design work. (both are from 1924, artist is Austin Cooper)
the one I was looking for originally also has a summer variant. (artist is Frederick Charles Herrick: 'it is warmer below' is from 1927, 'it is cooler below' is 1926)
I also like Edward McKnight Kauffer’s London Underground posters, the 1923 Natural History Museum one is such cool piece of visual art
I think if we all start posting nipples at once they won't be able to stop all of us. and by they I don't just mean tumblr staff I'm referring to the entire world. I think the nipple is a very destigmatizable body part and I expect/demand it to be a normal thing within my lifetime. the fear of nipples is so weird and archaic, it's a body part dude
local matchmaker losing it over yet another unrealistic demand from the clientele 🤣🤣
Translation by me. :))
“Even a slightly increased possibility of summoning rain is still an ability to summon rain” is such a good point
therapist: and what do we say when we feel like this?
me: no live organism can continue to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality

Mutation March 2022 - day 31: Horse
This challenge always ends with the same prompt, and also sees some of my best/worst concepts.
Octopus horse!
A cursed knight chess piece.
The warehouse marehouse had too many legs, had to clear it out somehow.
And I was not satisfied with just one cephalopod horse--here is a second one!
@elodieunderglass terrible things with legs for you
The last one is fabulous - never seen a design like that before!
“Grace! Why Eridian drawing on your words of encouragement, question?”
I’d never shown Rocky the cards and drawings that were sent with me before. “Eridian drawing?” I look at the symbol he’s pointing his texture gun at. “What do you mean?”
“Is simple way to draw Eridian. Like simple human next to it.” The simple human in question is a stick figure. And — rotationally symmetric, five equal limbs — yeah, I can see it. The Eridian stick figure equivalent. “Not possible for humans to know we meet,” Rocky says.
“They didn’t,” I say. “On Earth, that’s how we draw a star.”
