Out of all of the companion introductions, my favorite has got to be Solas.

I mean, come on.

This rando bald elf grabs your hand and helps you close a rift, has the audacity to give you all the credit for something that was indirectly his fault and then he looks cute as fuck while essentially being a lying liar who lies.

And then he steals your heart.

the first time I played the game, I met him and gasped and immediately turned the game off and restarted because I had originally made a Qunari. I KNEW I had to make an elf and romance him. Love at first sight.

Varric is the most character of all time and I can’t get over him

For a while his only friends were bisexuals. He’s famous. He’s a wanted criminal. He once organised an underground expedition/treasure hunt. He writes porn. His best friend went to magic hell. His other best friend has one arm. He works for a powerful religious organisation. He runs a spy network. He’s mayor of his hometown. He’s killed dragons. He refuses to cover his chest. He won’t sleep with you. He can turn invisible. His brother lost his mind. He’s four feet tall. He’s confused by chocolate. He was kidnapped by the church police.

so Solas' dagger was made from the red lyrium idol in 2? but was somehow cleansed and turned into a dagger? and Varric just recognized it after well over a decade? Okay...

why! didn't! they! bring! merrill! back! (flashbacks to the devs saying we shouldn't want any old characters back because they'd like kill them off or something YIKES)
