- sc 4 inc (12)
- 3 rounds of sc (12)
- sc 5 inc (14)
- 3 rounds of sc (14)
Make 2. Do not cut the yarn on the second ear. Continue pattern from here.
- ch 23 and connect with a sc to a stitch in the first ear.
- sc in every st on the first ear, then in one side of the chains, around the second ear, and then back across the chains. You should have 74 sts.
- starting in the first st you made after the chains on the first ear, sc in each st. Make sure to sew up any big holes near the ears. (74)
- all scs for 16 rounds (74)
- sc 9, 2 dec, sc 33, 2 dec, sc 24 (70)
- (5 sc, dec) x10 (60)
- (4 sc, dec) x10 (50)
- (3 sc, dec) x10 (40)
- add stuffing from this point on making sure not to put too much in the ears/horns so they are easier to pose.
- (2 sc, dec) x10 (30)
- (1 sc, dec) x10 (20)
- (2 sc, dec) x5 (15)
- (1 sc, dec) x5 (10)
- all dec and you're done :)
Legs and Body:
- mr 6 sc
- sc 6 for 24 more rounds. there should be 25 rounds total. cut the yarn on the first leg. do not cut off yarn from the second leg and continue from there
- ch 12 and connect with a sc to a stitch in the first leg.
- sc in every st on the first leg, then in one side of the chains, around the second leg, and then back across the chains. You should have 36 sts.
- starting in the first st you made after the chains on the first leg, sc in each st. Make sure to sew up any big holes near the legs. (36)
- sc all around for 18 more rows. you should have 20 rows for the body. (36)
- cut the yarn leaving a tail long enough to sew the body to the head. stuff the body. i'm leaving the legs and arms unstuffed so i can pose them easier but feel free to add stuffing and/or wire to them if you want.
Fingers and Arms:
- sc 4 in mr
- all sc in every row for 6 rows (4)
- make 3 fingers and cut the yarn on the first 2. do not cut the yarn on the third one. continue from here
- sc 2 on the finger your yarn is still attached to. then connect the yarn with a sc to another one of the fingers. make a total of 2 sc on that one too. connect the yarn with a sc to the last finger. make a total of 4 sc on that one. sc the remaining 2 sts of the other 2 fingers (12)
- (sc 1, dec) x4 (8)
- (sc 2, dec) x2 (6)
- sc 6 for 20 rows. cut the yarn leaving a long enough tail for sewing the arm to the body. make 2 of these.
Eyes:
- i used a smaller hook for these. 4.25mm. 5mm for everything else. feel free to use whatever you'd like though.
- ch 2. in the first ch, sc 1
- ch 1 and turn at the beginning of every new row. inc in second row (2)
- 2 sc (2)
- 2 inc (4)
- sc 4 for 5 rows (4)
- 2 dec (2)
- 2 sc (2)
- dec (1)
- sc a border around the eye. this is optional i just did it to make the eye shape smoother.
- cut the yarn leaving a long enough tail to sew to the face. make 2 of these.
- use black yarn and make 6 sc in a mr for a pupil. sl st to the first sc you made and cut yarn long enough to sew to the white of the eyes. make 2 of these as well.
Mouth:
- ch 21
- in 2nd ch from hook, sl st 20 (20)
- do not ch 1. in flo, turn and sl st in 2nd sl st from hook, skipping the first one. sl st 16, sl st dec (18)
- do not ch 1. in flo, turn and sl st in 2nd sl st from hook, skipping the first one. sl st 14, sl st dec (16)
- do not ch 1. in flo, turn and sl st in 2nd sl st from hook, skipping the first one. sl st 12, sl st dec (14)
- cut the yarn leaving a tail long enough to sew the mouth to the face
Outfit:
- ch 21. turn and beginning in 2nd ch from hook, sc in all chs. ch 1 and turn at the end of each row. do 22 rows of 20 scs. leave a long enough tail to sew one side together and cut the yarn. make 2 of these.
- sew the sides of these 2 panels together making sure to leave holes for the arms. i used the beginning tail of the yarn to sew the shoulder parts, and the longer yarn for the sides.
i might also crochet some overalls for him sometime in the future and if i do i'll make sure to write down the pattern for those as well :)
he should look something like this at the end:
Thank you Harlan Guthrie for making them such good friends, I owe you my life for that
Arthur Dimmesdale is such a cool character. he hasn't really gone through too much (especially when compared to Hester) but he's still shown as suffering throughout the whole book. he's sickly, he punishes himself (both physically and mentally), and there's an evil guy living with him (who also wants to see him suffer). i just find him really interesting.
hey don't cry. blorbo coughing up blood
Just let me remember you with my own colors

What Mr Lockwood sees when he visits Wuthering Heights
I am having a TIME thinking of my disaster beloved Dmitri Karamazov tonight - like i LOVE that he dreams of "the babe" and wanting to help the poor and calls it a good dream - i LOVE that he so earnestly begs Andrey the troika-driver to forgive him "for everything" - i LOVE "god and devil are at war, and their battlefield is the heart of a man" - i LOVE how often and how emphatically he tells Alyosha he loves him - i LOVE "the hymn of the underground" and his heartfelt desire of spreading hope and joy and the love of God to his fellow-prisoners and i love that he's thinking about that while his own fate is in the balance - i LOVE that the narration notes (as if we didn't know him well enough by then) that he really really was not capable of being as "calculating" as the prosecutor was insinuating - i LOVE that he remembered the random German doctor who bought him a pound of nuts as a kid with so much gratitude - i LOVE that he wanted to make sure all the singers and dancers and servants got their share of snacks and drinks at his last wild revel - i LOVE that he was so fussed about apologizing to everyone he was slightly rude or impatient or threatening to (which, given his temper, was a lot of people) - i LOVE "in a thousand agonies, I exist! I see the sun, and if I don't see the sun, I know it's there - and there is a whole world in that, in knowing that the sun is there" - i LOVE that he thinks the world of Ivan despite Ivan's disdain - i LOVE that he was determined to "give way" and let Grushenka be happy with her officer and befriend him if that would actually make her happy - i LOVE how his love for Grushenka (always passionate and admiring) grows to something really noble and kind and self-abnegating - i LOVE that he was so moved by someone's simple gesture of putting a pillow under his head - i LOVE how much of his plot is simply trying to redeem his honor - i LOVE how he takes the police's interrogation in friendly good-faith and isn't like, concerned about incriminating himself because he's just speaking the truth and these guys are just doing their jobs - i LOVE him randomly quoting poetry while making his confessions to Alyosha - i LOVE his goodwill and sincerity in his introduction with Zossima - i LOVE him talking to Alyosha about the fierce passion and lust for life of the Karamazovs, and the 'ladder' they climb to new heights (or depths) - i even love seeing his struggles with himself, as he thinks with disgust and regret of the damage he's caused and what he can do to put a stop to it . . . I just don't know if I've ever encountered a character who more dramatically compassed the Struggle of like - having our impulses and our temptations and our sins, having our pride, wanting our way, yet having our thirst for righteousness and honor, our subsequent self-loathing, our love for life and love for people and passion and humor and warmth and gratitude and generosity - all our human contradictions! Who is doing it like him?? T-T We Stan a Human Disaster
one of the things that makes crime and punishment so fascinating is that it’s about such a horrible thing and what comes after it but also there is just so much love all the time. raskolnikov is going out of his mind after committing murder but can’t stop thinking about how his sister is going to marry someone she doesn’t respect so their family can stay afloat financially. dunya is trying to take care of her horribly anxious mother and support her family through a humiliating marriage but she still finds time to make sure rodya is okay because something is wrong and she knows it. she knows him. pulcheria is so worried and over the top and she’s annoying her kids and she knows it but she gets everything organized so she can go see her son who she hoped could go be someone in petersburg and he isn’t and she doesn’t care about that anymore. she just wants to see him and hold him and tell him she loves him. razumikhin doesn’t really know what’s going on with his weird avoidant friend and maybe he doesn’t know how to heat up the soup he’s bringing to him but he is by raskolnikov’s side at every second and will make sure his family is ok in petersburg when rodya can’t. a thousand horrible things have happened to sonya and all she has ever known is people who will take advantage of her but she just keeps pouring out love
