"I will not climb. I'm going to fly!" That's what I wrote in one of my journals when I was in college. It was influenced by #HopefortheFlowers , a book I read during my National Service Training Program (NTSP) class when I was a freshman in Ateneo. It's been 12 years since the first time I read that book which has became one of my favorite. The story of Yellow and Stripe influenced the way I think and decide, most especially when it comes to my career choices. At a young age, I knew that I don't want to climb the "corporate ladder" but instead I'd like to grow my wings and learn how to fly. This 2017, I'm going to spread my wings and let it take me to new heights! I thank God for giving me the courage to take this #TAAP journey and for answering my prayers by sending His angels here on earth to guide me. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for my family, friends, colleagues and everyone who never ceased to shower me with their support. Let's all fly high and fulfill what God had sowed deep in our hearts! Freshly baked with love everyday by #BantayBread, one of the famous #foodstops by tourists and locals because of their delicious yet affordable #breads and #pastries. #Bantay Bread main branch is just a few meters away from the pilgrim site of Our Lady of Charity. As you can hear in the video, she calls me "anak" (my child) and despite our very short bonding, she really treats me like her own child. It reminds me of the new #Philippine Tourism video where a Filipino mother calls a foreign visitor "Anak". "Gusto lang po kitang makamayan!" (I just want to shake hands with you!) This lady told me enthusiastically after she attended my #TAAP speaking engagements at the Philippine Trade Training Center last February 24,2017 as part of #PTTC's 30th Anniversary celebration. She patiently waited while other attendees were around me to talk and to take photos before she excitedly approach me and said "Ma'am, makikipagkamay lang po sana ako,wala akong kasi camera ngayon eh." I was really moved by her gesture so I joked her that is she wants she can also hug me and she did. I hugged her back and told her how thankful I am for her time and effort to listen to my #SSStalk. I quickly looked for my phone and told her that I'll just take our #selfie so she can grab this photo in my account. There were still other people in the room trying to talk to me so I didn't really had enough time to get to know her. She was about to leave the room when I asked for her name but sadly I can't recall it now. =( [I'm terrible in remembering names, I'm very sorry!] To this young lady, thank you very much for approaching me last Friday and for telling me how my insightful experiences and sharing was able to #inspire you. May you reach your highest potential as you build your career! I hope we can meet again someday.
