Independent Roleplaying Blog for Evelynn, The Widowmaker from League of Legends.
It’s been a while. I’ve tried popping back, in and out, from this blog for two years. I decided to come back to the community, but I made a new blog for my Evelynn. It was for the sake of developing her when the update hits, so there wouldn’t be a ton of old headcanons sitting around that didn’t make much sense anymore. “After nearly a year and a half of dormancy, I have enough space to stretch my legs. It was a nice bit of time alone while it lasted. How have my pets changed? What new complexes have grown in my stead?”
The backside of a gloved palm scraped over her forehead, wiping away a metaphorical dust. Her sunken eyelids fluttered over unnatural red sclera which radiated with a newfound energy.
“Where has the time gone?”

To the tune of her elegant voice, the Warden’s calm gaze was never ending as Evelynn deserved that much of him, a friendly ear. He read between those fine lines written by a tongue of elegance, nodded when necessary and only remarked at the end.
“If souls were meant to be alone, there would only be one.” His hollow, twisted voice tried to find a sweeter, endearing tone. “Even us monsters have each other.”
The Warden hummed a somber nursery rhyme, retrieving the returned piece of his link and delicately began fiddling with it through those iron digits. “We can only learn so much from being alone… that’s why I tend to mercilessly rip apart my victims’ sanity by the seams.” He chuckled a bit too heartily for that small addition.
With an excusable cough, Thresh returned to the original track of mind. “Although behavior breeds behavior, Eve–” He began to mindfully carve into the spectral piece, extracting the unnecessary bits as it took a rounder, two-dimensional form.
“Kindness shouldn’t raise expectations, as that is an act that comes from the soul, and unexpected because it isn’t an owed favor. If we want to go out of our own way and do something for someone else, we would because we could, and do because we felt like it.”
Tenderly did his gauntlet reach out for her claws and placed the newly formed pendant in her palm. “It’s kindness. It’s random. It doesn’t raise expectations, because we shouldn’t expect more from something already good.”
The cold shard which now rested in the center of her palm commanded her attention momentarily. The assassin bared her fangs, relishing the rare occasion that she received real thanks for anything in general. Pacing a circle around the Warden, she slides the piece beneath the fabric of her gauntlets.
“If more people truly believed that, it would be much harder to make a living the way I do,” She gives a raspy tut, shuffling a small stone around with the tip of her boot. “It’s only after one is graced with the weight of death that their mind opens to thoughts of true generosity. Paradoxically, we give life more of a meaning.”
Yet life still follows the same rules, wherever it lies along a timeline. Evelynn only serves to play with her food. Her only motive was to avoid boredom in her current state of being. Her eyes brightened, shining red, dawning upon an idea.
“Speaking of ripping and tearing, perhaps you can demonstrate a bit of creativity for me. I’m always in search of new methods.”

I never would have imagined that three years ago, when I came to this community and met him on his previous Thresh blog, that he’d ever even acknowledge me through all of my self-loathing. But he was here. Three years later he visited me and showed me love that I’ve never been subject to. My best friend, my boyfriend. Until next time.}

His animated visage drew an arched brow as that sweet gesture of hers intrigued him. The warden’s gargantuan, steeled talons reached out for the missing piece as he retrieved and observed it in rotations.
“Well, it’s not a missing piece. The puzzles keep changing… just to keep everyone on their toes.” He then tossed the piece into his pocket.
It was like clockwork for the Warden to continuously make changes, improvements to his weapon through sharpening the blade, replacing missing links, and whatever else he saw fit. “However, I’m pretty sure I can find some use for this, my dear.” Thresh would smile back if his lower jaw wasn’t a floating entity.
“That was very sweet of you, Evelynn. You aren’t ever this kind to Mordekaiser or Hecarim,” he harrumphed and laughed.
“My kindness is sparingly brought out for anyone. I spent time, isolating myself, to experiment on how things would change with the current batch of living beings who I’ve interacted with,” Her own company felt fulfilling enough, and it felt soothing to draw out the unwanted emotions she manifested in some when she left them to handle their own issues.
That was one reason to enjoy human company.
“Kindness raises expectations for what I am not usually capable of,” Her tone was cold but it craved something else. It lacked interest. It begged faintly for better companionship.

With one final, heavier step of his boot, his entrance was announced with a dying echo. The Warden stood there before the infamous widow-maker, those languorous chains swaying with what little life they could muster as his stop came to a greeting.
“Evelynn…”
The bladed accents of Evelynn’s harness slid silently against the stones beneath their feet, seeming spectral as she approached the mountainous denizen. Her fangs bared themselves with a wide smile.
“You left this the last time. I imagine it felt like a missing piece to a puzzle,” The link was pressed between the thick plates of her claws, an offering to an ally, a friend even.
Twisting a link of chain between her long fingers, a distinctive claw catches the loop. Her pensive expression was hallmarked by an arched brow.
“It shouldn’t be much longer now.”
“Your pain is my pleasure.”
