I think The Loyal Pin and future Freenbecky projects will suffer from the fact that newer gl fans weren't around for their beginning. I'll elaborate. Gap the series, though flawed, is a decent show. I enjoyed it and it holds a special place in my heart. The impact of Gap cannot be overstated, it played a major role in why the gl landscape is the way it is and the launched Freenbecky's careers.

That being said, as time passed and the industry grew many phenomenal shows have been produced that are leagues ahead of Gap - including The Loyal Pin, I still think that was Freenbecky at their best- with new pairings that drew in new fans. Those fans weren't there, they dont understand or appreciate the significance of Gap the Series or the impact of Freenbecky. They aren't Freenbecky fans so they dont know the full scope of their achievements and they usually reduce them down to simply being the couple from the first full length gl series.

Many of these fans are kpop stans or ex kpop stans that treat being the fan of a gl pairing like being in an idol fandom. They dont believe there's space for everyone and they resent Freenbecky for being the ones at the top. So they downplay the quality of their shows and ignore their accomplishments. Which hurts the reception of their shows in the general gl fandom and puts alot of people off them as a pairing.
