Triathlon Training: Day 0
Training starts tomorrow! I am so pumped! I'm so excited to push myself to do something hard. I desire to know more about the depth of my strength and fortitude. 10 weeks from now, well see where I am at! Here we go!
Asylum: Day 30 Pushing Through
Well...Today I am 1/3 of the way done with Asylum. Today was good. Had a great stretch with relief, I feel great! Tomorrow is the first Game Day! It's gonna be intense, but it's going to be good. Alright, I have to confess that I miss the eating plan that I had with Insanity. I miss the regular pattern that I was in. I miss the exuberance I had. I want to feel the thrill again. So it's time to step it up and make changes. 1. 11 cups of water per day 2. Meal plans *1 week in advance 3. Stick to meal plans 4. 7/8 hours of sleep per night 5. 2/3 days of workout at the Y *(cycle, walk, run, strength training). My goal is to still lose weight by the end of school. Still have 9 weeks, so I could potentially be down to 158 by the end of the year! That would be great and amazing! Let's do it! There's nothing that can't be done! I desire to be an athlete, so therefore I need to have the mindset of one. Focus, control, and perseverance. It all starts with the mind. I will not lean on my own understanding, but rather trust in The Lord for his grace and strength daily.
Asylum Week 2 day 2
Vertical Plyo: good but hard! I ate way too much before bed last night so this morning I wasn't feeling it! But I pushed play and kept on going! Crazy to think that this Sunday will be the half way mark! :) gotta keep moving ahead!
11 weeks and counting!
Here's to 11 weeks of fitness! I feel stronger, faster, and more apt to face life's challenges. It's been hard, but I'm starting to see results and get compliments....which is a huge encouragement! Although I have yet to reach my goal, I feel more ready than I ever had! Had a little bit of a breakdown today (cupcake, pb popcorn, bacon) but tomorrow is a new day :) as long as I keep my head on straight and stay focused! Looking forward to tomorrow! A note about asylum: Wayyy harder than insanity. Required so much more mental strength, but it's good. I'm staying challenged! If I really want to be an athlete I have to train hard! Eat well! And keep my chin up!
Kale with Caramelized Onions
With only a few ingredients, this recipe can be made very quickly. Kale is great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I like to serve sautéed kale over cooked quinoa with two fried pastured eggs for breakfast. I usually add a whole, diced avocado to the meal too which is helpful for making rich breast milk. Serve this recipe as part of a balanced dinner. It goes well with beans and rice or grilled fish. Our children love this recipe, especially when I add chopped mushrooms! This recipe is also suitable for all phases of the Elimination Diet.

Insanity Asylum: Day 5
Insanity!!!!
Plyometric: it was good but super beasty! A lot of jumping! But I hope to get stronger each day. I’m learning to love Asylum. It’s different,but I’m grateful that it’s not circuit based. Every exercise set is new! I can feel the change already! Gotta enjoy my rest day tomorrow!

Insanity Asylum: Day 3
Back to Core
Whew! It actually felt really good! It was slower paced, so that was a perk! The agility stuff is so crazyyyy. I do feel really sore, but I feel really healthy. I'm realizing that every decision counts. I have to be in it to win it. Everything is going towards the triathalon. Everything! I do not want to fall "off" the wagon. I am committed to doing my very best. When I run across that finish line, I want to be able to say that I did my very best! I want to be able to say that I gave my ALL! I desire to give everything I can, to invest every moment, to work past fears, to push myself even harder, to dig deeper everyday. My overweight days are soon to be over! There I said it! :D Alright, getting off my soapbox now...and going to the gym -solofidefit
Insanity: Day 2
STRENGTH Whew! I definitely felt it! It was super beastmode today. But I made it through! Most intense 50 minutes of my day! I'm excited to continue to push myself to the max, knowing that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength! I'm excited about the results in 28 more days! :D
Insanity Asylum: Day 1
Fit test....so hard Speed and Agility What the...... All I gotta say is that Asylum is on a whole new level. Gone are the predictable breaks. Gone are the circuits. Gone are the long stretch breaks. Gone are the "Rest when needed" It is a whole new game. It is challenging: mentally, physically, emotionally. So far it's not as much high heart racing as Insanity, but it is about strength and endurance. It is about pushing yourself to the Max and then some more. Whew! I'm excited though! 4 weeks is not bad, it will go by fast! Im ready to eat healthy, get stronger, and push myself further! No giving up! (plus I want a t-shirt). Not gonna be a statistic for the negative, but for the positive. I will finish Asylum 1! I will! I will! by the grace of God!
(Sept 8th - Mar 8th) Fifty pounds gone, just like that. Working out is amazing, but you have to change your diet. Trust me, this weight wasn’t lost doing the elliptical every day, it was lost by cutting out all the foods I had learned to love. Try cutting out gluten, diary, and processed foods for a month of your life and you will never want to go back.
