the price of pads and tampons is ridiculous. menstruation is a natural occurrence that all women experience. key word, natural. it’s not a choice women have, it’s an event that happens every month for a week. why should we pay so much to control the inevitable? the average price women pay for any form of menstrual products through their lifetime is over $18,000. that’s disgustingly high. whether it be for tampons, pads, birth control or absolutely anything else, the prices are completely disrespectful towards women who can’t afford these products. when going to public bathrooms, toilet paper is free. why? because it’s considered a necessary hygiene product. but do you know what else is necessary? the ability to keep the blood that’s pouring out of a woman’s vagina tame. so shout out to those few public bathrooms that have free tampons and pads. having your period has become a concept of wealth. it’s horrible, really. you need to have money to menstruate, if you don’t, too bad. deal with it. right? fuck you. last time i checked, my physical impediments and emotional outbursts are not a form of your income.
