Has anyone written crossover fanfiction with Fullmetal Alchemist and The Inheritance Cycle? I think the magic systems would work together really well. Like the whole energy system from the Inheritance Cycle would fit perfectly with the concept of Equivalent Exchange

Alright, here's a little teaser for my Lunar Chronicles + Firefly crossover fic because @gavfleetout said it sounds cool (and of course, for anyone else interested. They're both scifi dystopia so I'd imagine there's some cross over in fandoms... If you like the Lunar Chronicles, you'll probably like Firefly). Fun fact this is actually the first fic I ever started writing, seems only fitting it'll be the first I post. Whoops I don't think the intro's s'posed to be this long, fic teaser under the cut. Imagine it edited like a movie trailer, it's the best lines from several scenes
"Rampion, where are we?" Thorne asked.
"Cannot compute. Outside of charted range." The mechanical voice chirped.
"How are we gonna get home if we don't know where we are?" Kaylee asked timidly.
"I don't know, meimei." Mal sighed, "Right now you should make sure our engine's in top shape for our trip back, y'hear?"
Kaylee nodded and tried to be optimistic as she headed for the engine room.
"Is there any way I can help?" Book asked.
"Pray that aliens exist, and that they're friendly." Mal responded.
"We're receiving a distress signal, Captain." Wash said, interrupting the beginnings of an argument.
"All the way out here?"
"Must be those aliens you 'ere talkin' 'bout." Jayne muttered.
"Put it through." The capitan ordered.
"I can find them, they're that way." She pointed. "I can faintly sense their bioelectricity."
"I forgot you could do that." Thorne mumbled.
"They must be really close, because the amount of metal in a ship is usually enough to block the signal." Cinder frowned, "Maybe it's because there's nothing else around."
"How's that thing air tight?" Jacin asked, "Looks like it'd implode if you sneezed too hard."
"He said something very impolite about your mother in ancient Chinese."
"He's probably right." Cinder mumbled.
"River, get back here!" Hissed a young man's voice from the hallway, "They'll see you!"
"It's fine, Simon." Said a teenage girl, walking towards them "They won't hurt us."
Everyone watched in apprehension as the girl, River, walked around inspecting all of them, pausing next to Iko.
"You're different." She said, "Quiet."
"I'm sorry about my sister," Simon said, "She can be a bit... Odd."
"That's alright," Scarlet said, looking at Winter. "We have plenty of practice with 'odd'."
"I'm not crazy anymore, Scarlet-friend." Winter said cheerily.
"Oh great, there's two of 'em." Jayne grumbled.
Cinder noted how the others from Serenity were watching River with as much apprehension as the Rampion crew.
"So, tell us more about your troubles." Shepherd Book said, "How'd you fine folks end up out here?"
"Well, we where on our way to Lunaâ" Cinder started.
"Wait wait waitâ" Wash held up his hands to pause the conversation, "Luna as in Earth's moon?"
"Yes?" Cinder asked, what else would she beâ
"You're from Earth That Was?"
"I'm pretty sure Earth still is." said Thorne.
"Not aliens." Grunted Jayne
"You're... not from Earth or Luna?" Cinder said slowly.
My theory about the other 3 dragons in TotK is that they literally ate the Triforce
Wait so if basically only children and Link can see the dragons, does that mean like nobody saw that whole sky battle?
Like I'm imagining Josha or whatever her name is at Lookout Landing just being like "hey Purah, what's that?" And Purah just can't see the entire dragon battle her best friends are currently having above her
Finally finished Tears of the Kingdom. The way the health bar just kept going was incredible. Also he kicked me? Then he started freaking dodging. Like wym the demon king just parried. That's my job. Also the hearts completely disappearing was a nice touch. Wish the sages were more helpful tho
Next up someone is going to claim that the Narnia series isn't kids books.
Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.
I want you to understand this. I NEED you to understand this. My mother read me the hobbit as bedtime story, and I started pushing myself to read before pre-school so I could in fact read the hobbit for myself instead of having to wait for bedtime.
I didn't do so right away but jesus wept I PUSHED myself to learn to read SPECIFICALLY so I could read The Hobbit! It is, in fact, a children's story! And children only see page count as 'there is a lot of this fun story to read!'
Like... come on man, 310 pages isn't even what I would've considered a particularly long book as a kid.
I don't understand why they're freaked out by book length. A kid can read one 300-page book or six 50-page books and it's the same amount of reading. Scholastic's bread and butter has traditionally been long, LONG series of relatively short children's books; it's known that bookworm kids like to read a lot. Nobody blinks an eye at a kid reading all sixty-ish Animorphs books or a bookshelf's worth of Goosebumps or The Babysitter's Club. But if the pages are stuck together into thicker books then suddenly that's difficult for a kid? 300 pages isn't even all that big for children's fantasy.
Ok so I may have posted about this before but:
Space travel in the Lunar Chronicles universe. They're obviously very advanced, space ships are common enough that Thorne could steal one. There's enough space traffic that just by Cress hiding the signals, many spaceships to and from the moon go entirely unnoticed. They colonized the freaking moon. Atmosphere domes, food production, lumber and mining, equivalent gravity. And most importantly, the ships all have artificial gravity, showing to me that they are generally used for long periods of time (like trips to another planet).
So, my question is: are there people on Mars? (I'm guessing there would be, but it'd be a scientific population like Antarctica or the ISS irl). They clearly have the technology for it. Are there people on other planets? Venus, Mercury, moons of Jupiter and Saturn? How far into space have they gone? Because clearly the average joe (or a cadet in the military) has access to space travel technology capable of long term orbit and no question of the damage from reentry. They can easily go to the moon, but can they go farther?
I think space tourism would definitely be a thing, they have the right setup for it (at least when the moon isn't evil).
Have humans left the solar system in this future? It seems possible that they could. Have they found life on other planets?
I know they didn't colonize other planets after how Luna turned out, but do you think after Cinder fixed it there'd be another go? Lol, unintended side effect of the Lunar revolution: new boom in space travel
And what frustrates me the most is I know Marissa Meyer didn't think about it as much as I did. My special interest is space I'm sorry
(I'm thinking about this again because I'm writing a fic that's a crossover between the Lunar Chronicles and Firefly (which takes place in another solar system) the lore is surprisingly compatible, I just need to know more about the extent of space exploration in TLC. Let me know if y'all want me to post part of my wip)
