Part of my display at the show... had lots of fun with the fall colors.
I'm still around! Still making pottery like mad, doing Christmas shows, and getting ready for baby #2.
I got to kick the Christmas Craft show season off with a great show in my town, which I sold a lot of stuff. Now I'm frantically making more stuff for the next show in one week.
Keeping busy! Anyway, I was checking up on my official pottery blog and was reminded of how many great blogs I follow on here, so I thought I'd say hi!
Selling pottery down on the waterfront at my vending spot. It's only the second time this summer that I've been able to get out (with either bad weather, me or the baby being sick, or weddings to go to)... felt great to be selling again!
Selling some mugs in a coffee store this month - first time having my work in a store in a good location!

I’m still trying to decide whether to call this piece a happy mistake or not. This little crawfish was supposed to be red but I accidentally painted him blue. I didn’t realize it until I opened the kiln. So now I’m trying to decide if I want to keep the blue crawfish as an option or not. What do y'all think? There are blue crawfish ya know.
There's blue lobster up north here too... very rare and they'll usually get on TV if someone catches one, then maybe put in a tank in a museum or something (not killed). To me it speaks of the unique and unusual in life.
Ocean-inspired ceramic sculptures by Denise Romecki resemble cresting waves.
Apple blossom serving platter with stamps. $55
Finally got around to updating my pottery blog!
I’m totally obsessed with painting sunsets on my vases.

Had a little craft show today, first one of the season and I got to try out the A-frame shelf that my husband built me for Christmas.
I'm working today and i fired a glaze kiln last night. Have to wait till this evening to get home and open it... it's like having to wait for Christmas!
I'm starting in on the selling season now with a little one day show in my town. I'll be putting last year's work on sale and I'm excited to start making money again! It's such a tiny show though, tables were only $20... hopefully I'll sell a little bit!

Got a glaze load done finally! Really happy with some of the new pieces. These are supposed to be supplying my table at some shows in May, but I've already had a lot of people on FB asking for them, haha, which I guess is a good problem to have? Just need more time now to get into the studio and make a bunch more of this stuff.
Two test mugs with black clay and apple blossoms. I still don't know which one I like more and it's taring me apart inside! On FB the consensus was that the blue one was the way to go... and blue is always more popular for selling, but somehow the red/rust just feels right. Anyway, I think I'll make the round base a white either way to show off the flowers more and the top I'll probably do in the blue.

Had a bit of fun playing around with a different idea for a tea cup and saucer. Trying to keep it rustic yet refined. Haven't made this shape of a handle before either and I really like how it feels.

Working on a new spring/summer line this year! Apple blossoms. I wanted to combine my experience in Japan (ie, cherry blossoms) with the culture in Nova Scotia. We see more apple blossoms in the spring here and to me it’s one of the most vibrant times of year - it feels like everything is waking up and energized.

Woops, forgot to change the blog before I posted! Made these this month...
