The lovely @catherinetcjd requested my Aparment Life gearhead chairs as add-ons rather than defaults, so here they are! Unique GUIDs so you can have these and the originals in the game (they take their textures from the in-game files).

(If the preview pics in the catalog look blue/funky at first, try refreshing the thumbnail a few times and the preview image should resolve. I've noticed this happens sometimes with add-ons)
The Apartment Life heavy metal barstool and dining chair are another eyesore set in the game: they look promisingly grungy, but IMO end up too cartoony for good dive bar vibes. So I've made an alternative!
Worn polyester seats that will definitely stick to the back of your sim's legs.
I borrowed the metal frame from Misty-Fluff's Resident Evil 7 chair and then meshed the cushions myself. I stretched and rearranged the texture mapping so the chairs would have some scuff marks and look as lived-in as the originals.
Now the set is a better fit for your gas stations, your laundromats, and your biker bars :D
I'm usually forgiving of TS2's goofy aesthetics, but the Family Fun undersea set has always bothered me to no end. That chair alone is an eldritch object of horror, something that only Cthulhu could love.
So! I made some replacements.
No judgment if you like the originals, but I thought I'd share in case other folks would like less bonkers options.
For the chair, I've defaulted in 4ESF's Dining Chair 2 (with polycount greatly reduced by me). I thought this kept the whimsy of an ocean-themed room, but made it cute enough to be used in other contexts.
Same with the desk (I couldn't look at that ugly unicorn horn/shell thingie anymore). This one is from Simcredible's Beachy office set. I did try to add back in some drawers, but I ended up preferring the cleaner/more streamlined desk.
Next...that bed.
I swapped in the 4t2 Anti-Goblin bed mesh by PlatinumAspiration and shrunk the seashell to be a decoration on the head and the foot of the bedframe. I think it looks cute and on-theme without being so bananas.
And the end table: I dislike the goofy wiggles, so I shaved them down and rebuilt the cabinet to be more of a straightforward shape. Less exciting, but more realistic.
My eventual goal is to default/simplify the two undersea dressers as well, but they're more complicated since they animate.
More defaults to come!

Let me know if you have any issues, and I hope you enjoy :)
The lovely @orquanos asked if I'd be interested in converted the Showtime Hollywood sign as a NH object, and I absolutely was!
I decided to make it light up as well so it better matches the way it looks in TS3 (but you'll need Criquette's Better Nightlife Mod). I edited the mesh a bit to make it more mountain-friendly, so the poles should be long enough to sit on top of relatively mild slopes (if the hill is too steep some of the letters will get eaten).
Just FYI, it has already been converted as on-lot objects here by Haliseazale if you'd prefer a version you can assemble yourself.
I happened upon these amazing meshes years ago after I downloaded a few lots from Cradle of Darkness (I'm not sure which one, but I think it was one of Maryata's) and I've been obsessed with them ever since.
They have these soulless, dead eyes while also being in these flirty poses so they're sexy but also creepy. Sort of Victoria's Secret by way of Silent Hill.
I meant to release these back when I posted the Bella's Secret set, but life got in the way, so here we are now.
Nitty-gritty and link under the cut!
I believe Locarik is a Russian Simmer, but it doesn't seem like they've been active in a long time so I wanted to give these ladies a good scrub by updating them to be less resource intensive & more recolor friendly. GUIDs are unique so if you have the originals they can co-exist.
The original versions had a recolorable head and body, but the underwear was hard-painted on the body so each outfit recolor also included the skin pattern underneath (which made them huge files since skins are 1024x1024 by default).
I remade the meshes into new objects and I joined the head and body into one group (skin) and made a second layer just for clothes (lingerie). My skin file is a little clunky at 2048x1024 and has a lot of negative space, but if you're interested in recoloring the mannequins all you need to do is find your head & body of choice and plop them onto this template in Photoshop or GIMP (face images tend to be 512x512 and skins 1024x1024).
The lingerie subset can now use any Maxis underwear or bathing suits you already have, and your recolors will be a much more manageable file size.
But, a few caveats:
(1) The lingerie mesh is actually a bodysuit that ends at the thighs. Underwear textures with garters, leggings, thigh high socks etc. will get clipped on this mesh. Boyshorts should be okay, anything longer may look funky. I did try to make the lingerie subset extend down the legs to the feet, but the meshing was too chaotic to make it work.
(2) The crawling, sitting, and kneeling models are in pretty contorted poses so the textures get squiggly in some parts (especially bra straps). Your mileage may vary with more complicated or highly detailed textures.
(3) The standing mannequin is the PARENT object, the other three are CHILD meshes. Be sure to recolor the tallest gal in order to change the textures for all.
They'll be in General > Dressers for §299. I included the three recolors you see in the preview pics.

Credits: Locarik, for original creations (I'm sorry I can't find a good link/website for this Simmer! If you can read Russian and know where they live online, please let me know); Eir/Eir-Sims/Eir-Ung for the mannequin skin (I believe they are also permanently offline). SalixTree and Chibi Sylphe at Parsimonious for underwear textures; @gryning for an additional lingerie pattern.
Also wanted to shout out @cityof2morrow for their incredible Bella Brand sets. If you're looking for more lingerie retail objects they have everything you could possibly need!
Never, in the history of ever, have I used these...tech fences? Why the tear-drops? Why stained glass? Why so tall? Why these color combinations?? It's an aesthetic I'm baffled by.
I made a default mesh edit for myself, but I realized some other folks might enjoy this fix too! Details & link below the cut.
I shortened the fences to a sensible handrail height, I cleared away the teardrops, and I added a floor edge hider so you can have clean-looking balconies.
If you put them on the ground the floor edge hider will sink and not be visible beyond a small strip.
This is a mesh-only fix so it'll still use the same textures as the original fence (black, steel, and white). I think this mesh edit makes the fence 1000% more usable for a variety of building styles now that it's not so...zany.
Download!
Edit: if you'd like a non-default version of these fences (that still references the in-game textures) you can find them here. Thanks to @kayleigh-83 for the suggestion!
I've been using the repository technique on my favorite 3t2 windows and doors so I can have more uniform color schemes with my build objects. I love this technique since it shrinks the file sizes and it allows the windows to pickup textures and recolors that you already have in your game. Win-win!
This particular batch is a series of three windows from World Adventures which have already been converted, but I repo'd them to the Bon Voyage Mulberry Window and the WorkOfArt Door. GUIDs are unique so they should not conflict with previous conversions.
The prettiest window IMHO is the King Qing's window which originally had a flower screen in TS3, but looks lovely with the Bon Voyage paper patterns as well. Just note that the BV rice paper patterns look a little too busy, but I think the other three look amazing.
Also look at the window with Yuxi's retextures of the BV door! So gorgeous!
Here's the full set in Maxis colors:
Windows prices match prices in TS3 and diagonals are included.
Enjoy, and let me know if you run into any issues!
I love Trapping's conversion of this headwrap from TS3 Africa Inspiration Collection and I wanted to replace some of the silly K&B towel turbans with more wearable styles.
This replaces the WHITE Towel only!
I used Penelope's textures (available on Plumb Bob Keep here) and one of Lilsisterg's recolors (available here).
It's the alpha-edited version where there's not a speck of hair visible so it should look nice with whatever hair color system you use.
Original ages only, so it's for YF - EF.
Enjoy, and let me know if you run into any issues!
Hello TS2 Simmers, I've been experimenting with defaulting hairs and as much as I love genuinely love and appreciate SimPE I'm losing my mind at the step of clearing out the 3D Referencing File. SimPE doesn't allow you to select multiple lines for deletion so I've been slowly right clicking each one (then selecting delete) and I feel like I must be missing something.
So, other default-ers, is there a better way to empty the 3D ID files? Do you just resign yourself to having carpal tunnel syndrome from clicking each line x2 and then each 3D Ref File x4 lines and then doing that for sometimes up to x13 different 3IDR??? I think that's up to 104 clicks just for this one step in the process D:
Any advice/sympathy/shortcuts would be greatly welcomed!
I have a small gift for you today: produce displays from the Island Paradise, Monte Vista, and Sunlit Tides grocery rabbitholes. Perfect for your farmer's market or neighborhood grocery store :)
Pics and download link under the cut!
First up, the Island Paradise produce stands. I shrank these to fit across two tiles and both the produce and the wooden stand/umbrella are recolorable subsets. I didn't end up repo'ing either of these to each other so you can keep both or delete whichever without missing any textures. The meshes should fit together snugly if you want to tile them together to create one big tented display!
No recolors included, found in Appliances > Misc for §650.
Next, these floor displays which were outside the Sunlit Tides grocery rabbithole. I shrank them down to just one tile, and I've included two produce recolors so you can have either the fruits/veggies combo, all veggies, or all fruit (the wood is also a recolorable subset). Found in Appliances > Misc for §550.
Lastly, these barrels which were hidden inside the grocery rabbithole from Monte Vista. The originals were very blocky so I actually recreated them using a smoother in-game mesh (the barrel of flowers!) and I think they look pretty cute.
Before (pic from Blender):
After:
The larger barrel is the PARENT mesh, the smaller one is the child. Barrel can be recolored, and I included NINE recolors using all of the produce textures included in the original rabbithole (note that I did use an AI upscaler because the original textures were itty-bitty). Found in Appliances > Misc for §75 & §65.
This collection has been languishing in my projects folder for a long time, so I've finally wrapped it up and made it ready for release. Lots of new windows, doors, walls, and architectural deco for you!
Pics and details under the cut!
I really liked the battlement tops on the rabbithole tower, so I chopped them off and made them "rugs" which you can place on your building roofs to give them a nice finished edge. They hang over the walls and descend one floor below. I made a 3x3 version and a 5x5 version (which still has a 3x3 footprint). You'll find them in Build > Architectural Deco for §875.
And because I wanted a centered door for the 5x5 tower, I made two versions of the front door: a 3-tile version (no diagonal, cloned from Leefish's door here) or a 2-tile version (+diagonal) both for §479.
These are NOT repo'd to each other since I wanted you to be able to delete whichever you don't want (or keep both). The doorframe and door are recolorable separates so go bananas if you want to recolor these guys.
Next is an adorable 3-tile bistro window (+diagonal) for §361. The default window pane is clear, but I've included a recolor in case you want the curtain for a cozier dining experience.
This next window came from the bookstore side of the rabbithole, so I'm calling it the "book nook" window. It's one tile but has 3 slots for your window display of choice for §107 (no diagonal).
And here's the nook from the inside:
Next are four different windows: the first two are an open/shut version of the same shuttered window (open version is the PARENT), and the coffin-shaped one was so medieval-looking I decided to make it without a glass pane so it can be used for historic buildings too. All of these are §107 and have diagonal versions.
The last window had shutters attached it originally, but I couldn't decide if I liked them or not, so I pulled them off and instead made them into curtains so you can mix and match to your heart's content. All of these are in Deco > Curtain for §91 and the closed version is the PARENT object.
There's also a little flowerbox which you'll find in Deco > Plants but it's cloned from a curtain so it'll snap onto your window.
The last door is a round, rustic wooden one that was on the back of the rabbithole.
The door cuts into the frame a bit when it swings open but I think it's forgivable
New walls and floors...
Plus a new roof recolor!
Enjoy, and let me know if you run into any issues. This was a big set so it's very possible I missed something when troubleshooting!
I've divided the Showtime criminal hideout rabbithole into three industrial buildings for your neighborhood!
Only the warehouse lights up at night, but you will need the Better Nightlife mod for it to display correctly.
These are highly detailed! Use sparingly if you're on an older computer. The warehouse is the PARENT mesh and the garage and the chemical tank are the child meshes. You'll find them in the Neighborhood Deco > Misc category.
The lovely @cityof2morrow had the brilliant idea to make a Bella Park teen/young adult collection for the lingerie store, so I was inspired to make a few additional pieces. Here they are!
I used the sleepwear from Teen Style Stuff, the tank/undies set from University, and I also grabbed some Base Game teen panties to match the more cutesy color scheme. Details & download link under the cut!
It's 5 new items in total: two new mannequins (matte fabric, not glossy like the others in Bella's Secret), two more hanging displays, and a matte fabric panty mannequin.
I used a lot of Base Game dress fabrics to color the mannequins, you'll probably recognize which ones these swatches belong to :)
The sleepwear mannequin is the GRANDPARENT object: the panty and the underwear mannequins take their fabric colors from it. The hanging objects are repo'd to the matching mannequins. You'll find everything in General > Dresser for §17.
Hello, I'm still alive! I had to take a long break from Simming, but I've finally finished this collection and wanted to release it.
Reintroducing Bella's Secret lingerie store set by RetailSims! Now available in sweet pink or spicy black motifs. Featuring more objects than you'll know what to do with :D
There are four Maxis-match sets in this collection: the K&B lingerie set (3 colors), a new bra mesh using the Freetime sewing machine dress textures (6 colors!), the K&B camisole set (3 colors), and the Basegame slip nighties (4 colors).
For the mannequins and the furniture, I wanted to capture that high-gloss look that a lot of lingerie stores use, and I discovered that the perfect in-game texture was…the grand piano?? So all the display objects are repo'd to that object and come in either glossy black or white (or whatever other recolors you may have). The velvet panels are either pink or red and are recolorable.
The shelving unit is actually three distinct pieces: a panty/bra counter with 15(!) slots you can fill, a double row wall display rack (15 slots), and a single row wall display rack for longer hanging items (8 slots). These live in Surfaces > Shelves for §241.
All of the hanging items can be hung on your Sim's wall for decoration, but they are also aligned to perfectly slot into the wall racks. I personally find it relaxing to fill up the display cabinets, and you can mix and match to your heart's content! You'll find all the clothing in General > Dressers for §18.
I also made some objects to sit on the countertops or in the drawers. Everything is repo'd to a parent object to reduce file sizes, so if you're interested in recoloring the lingerie, check the filenames for the PARENT objects and you'll be able to make your own varieties.
Lastly, I recreated RetailSims's shop sign, but this time in Simlish. I did my best to keep the polycount as low as possible, but be warned it's still high poly. It spans 6 tiles and is EXTREMELY shiny. Comes in black or white! Found in Deco > Wall for §800
I highly recommend you get RetailSims's original wallpapers (archive link to the dead site is here). All original idea credit goes to RetailSims, I just fell in love with their set years ago and wanted to refresh it to match the game's original aesthetics.
Download
I may need to disappear offline for another lengthy break, but I'll stick around for a few days after I post this to check for any problems, so let me know if anything isn't working your game. Enjoy!
TS2 question/opinions needed: shiftable wall objects that can fit into slots?
I've been working on revamping RetailSims' lingerie store set, and I had the idea for a wall rack with vertical slots that can be filled up with hanging clothing. So in the pic below (taken from the RS website), imagine that the poles are blank, single-tile "shelves" and you can pop on multiple hangers and use M to shift where they sit.
But, the problem is that if I recreate these hanging corsets by cloning them from wall deco, they won't respond correctly to being placed on an object with slots. So, should I clone a non-wall object and then try to fiddle with the BHAV to make it shiftable?
Do you have any thoughts or input on making something slottable but also shiftable? Let me know, I'd love to hear from you!
Also, here's a sneak peek of what I've got so far: I'm working pretty much exclusively from in-game textures :D
Bella's Secret 2023 coming soon! (if I can figure this out...)
EDIT: Please redownload! I goofed up something on one of the menswear racks and it was causing crashes. I fixed it and updated the link.
---
I've made some add-on clutter for your clothing stores!
I pulled apart the community clothing racks and made some hanging wall racks that are linked to the in-game objects. These files are itty-bitty since they don't have any textures to them and they'll pick up any recolors or defaults you might already have in your game.
I fiddled with the meshes and UV mapping a bit to improve the look of the clothing, but be warned that because these are base game textures, the items can look a bit crunchy up close. Still, I think they make great decor for commercial lots!
From the value menswear rack, I've pulled two t-shirt displays and some hanging jeans (the preview pic is from this angle so you can see that each display has multiple shirts or pants behind it--this is true for all the racks, but it's harder to see in the other pics). These live in General > Dresser for §65:
From the expensive menswear rack, I've pulled three long-sleeved and two short-sleeved shirt displays and another pair of hanging pants. These live in General > Dresser for §85:
From the expensive dresses rack, I've pulled out five dresses of varying sizes (two are long gowns, two are mid-length, and one is a short athletic dress). These are in General > Dresser for §95:
I didn't like anything that I pulled off the value dresses rack, so that's the one rack I didn't touch.
Enjoy!
DOWNLOAD FIXED VERSION
I'm also including a very random fix/edit: it's always bugged me how blurry the shoe boxes look on the Apartment Life clothing racks, so I've made a default replacement mesh that will have cleaner looking boxes with actual lids.
Note that this will replace the boxes for both the male and female racks.
