“i hope this isn’t odd, but i felt like writing to you. i just wanted to let you know how much i appreciate you. i hope that you are content as much as you can be in these situations; i simply hope that you are happy. i know it might be hard to reach out but please, let me know if you need something. i would truly go to the ends of the earth for you. i was plagued with the question today of, if it came down to it, which would you choose: family or friends? i immediately thought of my parents, my grandparents, and my cousin, as they are the only people in my family that i am close to. but i also thought of friends—you and censored. and even though the question was hypothetical, it troubled me; i couldn’t possibly choose between the people that filled my heart the most. but upon further thought, i came to the realization that i would pick family; because my friends are my family, and i love them as though they were. i love you as i love my mother and father. i love you as i love the rain or poetry. i love you, and i hope you truly understand that.“
