Nere as a character was great; funny, enjoyable, slightly important for quests but not too important that you couldn't just kill him off, and likeable. In fact, you have a chance to save him from the Absolute, just like you can Minthara! Except, instead of in Minthara's case, he just runs off and dies to Balthazar. I think Nere would be great as a companion (and possibly preferable to Minthara), especially if you're playing as a Drow.
I also think it'd be neat to be able to romance him, like you can the other companions (minus Minsc and Jahiera). So, please sign (I think Larian said that if fans like something enough, they'll try and add it to the game, like how they added Minthara as a companion without having to slaughter the Grove!!!)

The annoying chore eventually became more āenjoyableā the moment he came across Tavās clothing, gently moving his hands across the leather closing his eyes imagining his fingers glazing over Tav, how theyād react; would they shy away from his touch or lean into it. Feeling the blood rushing to his lower region as he feels his own arousal.
His eyes snap open when he realizes what heās doing, feeling up a literal piece of armor. He moves his hand to his face in frustration with himself, as he cupped his hand over his face his eyes widened as he inhaled. Taking in the smell of Tav, as well as a mix of other smells but Tavās stood out.

Looking around seeing is any prying eyes might witness what he was about to do, than he pressed the leather against his nose. A fine mix of the leather and Tavās sweat filled his nose, hitting a certain part of his brain that made his lower stomach flutter.
He took another deep inhale as he pressed it against his nose, wishing to smell more of it. His free hand moved to his crotch, slightly palming at the tent in his pants; letting out heavy breaths in between deep inhales as he continued to rub his clothed bulge.
