You know what I really loved about the spuffy relationship arc in s7? They literally went from having a purely sexual relationship in s6 to having a purely emotional relationship in s7. I loved the intimacy parallel scene in "Touched" where everyone (Xander and Anya, faith and Robin, willow and Kennedy) were having sex, and we have the scene where Buffy asks Spike to just hold her. They just lie there, Spike holding buffy while she tries to go to sleep. THAT is true intimacy and that is why I believed her when she said that she loved him in the last episode. Because she finally let her guard down and let him hold her. That scene was so well planned and it is also why Buffy's reaction to Spike's death pissed me off.
