Pairing: Bakugo Katsuki x Reader
Bakugou wasnât avoiding you.
He just⊠wasnât looking for you either.
You told yourself that maybe you were imagining the distance. That maybe he was just busy. He was gunning for the top spot in the rankings again. Not like that ever changed.
thinking about post time skip haikyuu is so funny to be bc the people who know other people is crazy like what must normal people in that universe think
like why does youtuber streamer and owner of bouncing ball co kozume kenma aka kodzuken know the libero of this russian team and this half russian model and this comedian / chef and also a bunch of div 1&2 pro volleyball players and his childhood bsf works for the jva
some kid comes to class one day and his teacher knows half the japanese national team ????? THIS RANDOM COP IN MIYAGI IS A SENPAI TO HINATA SHOYO AND KAGEYAMA TOBIO iâm in tears actually this is so funny how have i never considered this
yachi taking time off for the olympics and her colleagues are like oh omg what are you watching? you could come and watch at this bar with us! and sheâs like actually my super famous besties got me tickets to go see the games IN PERSON and thatâs how they learn sheâs besties with hinata and kageyama bc she also posts a selfie w them and yamaguchi and tsukishima
new fans are so confused on how and why hinata knows so many people??? why is he on good terms with the japanese guy who plays for that one polish team? why is he posting selfies with san juanâs star setter???? why is san juanâs star setter married to THE JAPANESE TEAMS ATHLETIC TRAINER??? WHAT IS HAPPENING
everyone and everything is connected
The best part about this is that they'll have this INSANE interconnected web of relationships people cannot decipher and then they ask Famous Volleyballer Kageyama Tobio who his mentors were back in the day because, hell, this guy knows everyone! Young Tobio must have been learning from the best, connections to Oikawa, Atsumu, Ushijima... And then completely deadpanned he remembers a promise he made years ago and goes "ah, my high school Senpai Sugawara taught me everything" and the entire world goes ??!??!? WHO?!??!!!?! And find this nobody-teacher in a Sendai suburb. Like.

Rage-baiting reader who LOVES fucking with her pro-hero boyfriend.
Randomly texting him âHowâs patrol?â
Like always, he answers with calling you because he canât text with his big ass gloves. Its all according to plan.
âIt fucking sucks.â
He sounds tired and definitely pissed off. You donât blame him, a night shift in the streets full of the recklessness of the weekend will do that to any hero.
âSucks as in boring or sucks as in chaos?â
âSucks as in low grade idiots that canât even live up to being villains are up and down the fucking city.â
Well, you were in the city. Nothing too unusual yet but you know that if you were to tell him heâd loose his mind. So you did tell him.
âI think youâre just unlucky because itâs pretty calm on my walk.â
Theres a pause on the line. If you didnât know any better, youâd think that he hung up.
âWhat the fuck are you doing walking around the streets at midnight?â
âI had to run to the corner store because I was craving some of those cheap ice creams!â
âYouâre at the one across the street?â
âNo. The one on the-â
He almost smashed his phone in his bare hands.
âYouâre at the one by that shady bar?! I told you not to walk alone at night and especially not there!â
âYeah! The other corner store was out of stock. I had absolutely no choice.â
The store was fully stocked on the ice cream. You just wanted to take a risky walk to piss off your boyfriend. Not the best idea but his reaction felt worth it.
âGo back into the fucking corner store and wait. Iâm coming to get you.â
âMmm⊠no.â
You couldnât hold back your laughter at his frustrated attempts at forming words. He was trying so hard not to yell at you.
âIâll see you tonight, though. Love you!â
He was walking menacingly by your side five minutes later.

Thinking about reader and fiancĂ©e!Bakugo prepping for their wedding when the important question of âwhoâs walking you down the aisle?â comes up during a planning consultation.
âIâm still figuring it out,â you say to the planner nonchalantly. She nods, notating the response before continuing through the meeting per usual. Later that night, Bakugo decides to carefully bring the topic back up.
âI know itâs not easy, but do you wanna talk about earlier?â He asks gently, taking your hand in his. âMight wanna figure it out before the big day sneaks up on us.â
You know heâs rightâŠbut who the hell takes that place?
âI donât know who to ask,â you whisper, somewhat talking to yourself rather than to him. âI donât have any siblings and Iâm not close with any other family members like that. I could ask Eiji or Izuku, but theyâre already apart of our day in a big way. I donât want them to feel pressured.â
âWhy not?â Bakugo questions, moving his free hand to your shoulder. âThose idiots love you, peach. âCourse theyâd say yes if ya asked.â
âI know. Butââ
âItâs not the same, I get it.â
Thereâs a brief silence before Bakugoâs eyes light up, an idea blossoming in his mind. âWhat about my dad?â
You give him a blank stare. âHuh?â
He tilts his head with a smile. âHe loves ya like a daughter already, sweetheart.â
The thought lingers for a moment before the emotions catch up, a lump forming in your throat. Ever since you and Bakugo started dating, his family has been nothing but warm and welcoming to you. Mitsuki joked constantly that you were the daughter she wished she had for years, and Masaru struck up conversation with you at every dinner, his interest in you never feeling forced or fake.
Fidgeting a bit, you finally gather yourself enough to speak. âWould it be weird if I asked your mom instead?â
Bakugo laughs, but not at you, more-so in agreement. âNot at all. Think you can handle her? âCause she will be a mess.â
That makes you giggle, the invisible pressure lifting from your shoulders and a sense of calm washing over you.
âIf I can handle you, Mitsuki is nothing.â
Hiii! Can u do this? Reader is extremely beautiful and smart, she has girls and boys attention and her boyfriend Katsuki HATES it but at the same time heâs proud đ
Katsuki had never been the type to mince his feelings. When he was annoyed, everyone within a ten-mile radius would know it. And right now, he was brimming with frustration as he stood by your side, arms crossed tightly over his chest, his sharp eyes watching every person who dared glance in your direction.
You were radiant today â not that you ever werenât. Your beauty was effortless, drawing in attention like a magnet no matter where you went. Your hair glistened in the sunlight, your skin glowing with a healthy vibrance that made you stand out. It wasnât just your looks either; you were sharp, witty, always quick with a comeback and smarter than half the people Katsuki knew. It was no wonder both girls and guys couldn't stop staring at you, hanging on your every word, hoping to get just a sliver of your attention.
And it pissed him off.
âCanât they find something better to do than gawk at you like idiots?â he grumbled, his voice low but seething as the two of you walked through the bustling streets. His hand rested possessively on your lower back, subtly reminding anyone who got too close that you werenât available.
You chuckled softly, shaking your head at his typical grumpiness. âTheyâre just being nice, Katsuki. Itâs no big deal.â
âNo big deal, my ass,â he shot back, his crimson eyes flicking over to a group of guys who had been blatantly staring at you for the past few minutes. His jaw clenched, and you could practically see the gears turning in his head as he fought the urge to start something.
He hated the attention you got, hated how people looked at you like they had a chance, how they flocked to you every time you entered a room. But at the same time, he was proud â so damn proud â to be the one you had chosen. Out of all the people who practically worshiped you, he was the one you came home to, the one you laughed with, argued with, and shared all your vulnerabilities with. That part of him basked in the envy radiating from everyone else.
But right now, his possessive side was winning out.
You were at the cafĂ© now, a spot you both liked to visit, but it wasnât helping his mood today. The girl at the counter, one of the regulars, was giving you that same starstruck look she always did, practically falling over herself as she complimented you while taking your order.
âWow, youâre looking amazing today! Oh, and I love how youâre always so put together,â she gushed, her eyes sparkling as if she couldnât believe she was talking to you.
Katsukiâs grip on the chair tightened as he tried to hold back a snarky comment. He shot her a glare so intense, it was a miracle she didnât burst into flames on the spot.
âAnd what the hell do you think she looked like yesterday, huh?â he muttered under his breath, though loud enough for you to catch it. You elbowed him gently, suppressing a laugh as you sat down.
âKatsuki, stop,â you teased, giving him a look that was both amused and affectionate.
âStop what?â he replied, feigning ignorance, though his sharp eyes darted around the cafĂ©, daring anyone to stare a second too long. He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms with a huff. âIf people didnât act like idiots every time they saw you, I wouldnât have to.â
The truth was, Katsuki had always been protective. It wasnât because he doubted you â no, he trusted you more than anyone. But he didnât trust other people. It frustrated him to no end that everyone around you seemed to take your kindness as an invitation, not understanding that you were already taken. And yet, despite all the grumbling and huffing, you could tell there was a part of him that thrived off of it.
He was possessive, but also proud as hell.
You sipped your drink and caught his eye, a knowing smile tugging at your lips. âYou like it, donât you?â
âLike what?â he snapped, the usual edge in his voice softening slightly as he met your gaze.
âYou like that everyoneâs jealous,â you replied, eyes gleaming with amusement. âYou like that people wish they were in your shoes.â
Katsukiâs expression faltered for a moment, caught off guard by your bluntness. His lips pressed into a tight line, and he looked away, a faint pink tinge coloring the tips of his ears.
âShut up,â he muttered, but you could tell he wasnât really angry. In fact, if you listened closely, you could almost hear the pride in his voice, the subtle satisfaction that he tried to keep hidden beneath his rough exterior.
You leaned in closer, your voice dropping to a teasing whisper. âIâm serious, Katsuki. You hate it, but at the same time, you love that Iâm yours, donât you?â
He finally turned to face you again, his gaze smoldering with a mix of annoyance and something else, something deeper. His hand reached out, his fingers brushing against your cheek before he cupped your face, pulling you just a little closer.
âYou bet your ass I do,â he growled, his voice low and possessive. âYouâre mine. Doesnât matter how many people look at you or try to talk to you. At the end of the day, you come home with me.â
Your heart fluttered at the intensity in his words, but you couldnât resist poking at him a little more. âSo⊠you donât mind when they stare?â
He scoffed, his thumb gently grazing your cheek as he leaned in even closer. âIâll always mind, but if they wanna waste their time dreaming, let âem. Theyâll never have what Iâve got.â
That earned him a genuine laugh from you, and the sound was like music to his ears. He hated sharing you with the world, but moments like these reminded him why it didnât matter. He had you â the real you â and no one else ever would.
As the two of you sat there, Katsukiâs possessiveness simmered under the surface, but it was mixed with that unmistakable pride. He was never going to stop hating the way people fawned over you, but heâd always be proud to be the one you chose.

LEAVE THE WARMEST BED IâVE EVER KNOWN
katsuki bakugou x reader
on a cold winter night, you gain news that your ex boyfriend and pro-hero dynamight has returned from a work trip out of the country. coincidentally, heâs calling your phone right now.
part 1/2
inspired by âtis the damn season
everything you learned about katsuki while he was away was against your will.
following in all mightâs footsteps, and right after one messy, icy breakup, katsuki left to do hero work in the united states. if you wanted to know who he was hanging with, what girls he was supposedly kissing, or who he was replacing you with, you could have asked. seeing his life in footnotes, on instagram stories and through headlines was the kind of cold that fogged up windshield glass.
theres a lingering ache in your heart, put there by the ache in katsukiâs.
your breakup felt inevitable, more than anything. circumstances, timing, stress⊠one second, heâs loving you. the next, heâs telling you he needs to think things through. and right after that, heâs on a plane to los angeles with kirishima.
it was almost nice, not having to see him at the agency or anywhere else. you wouldnât be tempted to call his phone, since the international bill would only break your heart more. you couldnât go to his apartment because itâd be empty- if youâre not counting the phantoms of lost love.
the 2 weeks he was gone felt like an eternity on your end. you blamed the time zones, though you knew they werenât capable of freezing time and making your heart ache more each minute.
and with the first snowfall of the season, katsuki bakugou lands back in his home country.
he thanks the attendants in his private jet, shoving his already warm hand into his pockets as he steps out into the brisk air. its colder than he remembered, as if the world felt the same loneliness he was experiencing.
its 10pm, and the snow is glistening against the moonlight like a mirrorball. the sky is blanketed by clouds, a pink hue washing over katsuki as he steps out of the airport and into the night.
he stares at his contacts for a second. he intends on calling an uber.
but either his thumb slipped, or he missed you too much to care about the cold pricking his fingertips. each could be true.
youâre in the process of turning up your heater when your phone lights up through the dark. fingers peeking out the sleeve of your sweater grasp the device, nearly dropping it to the floor when you see whoâs trying to reach you.
as if on instinct, your thumb hovers over the green button, before ultimately letting it go to voice mail.
after a hot shower to drown out the chill, you find him calling again. this time, you sit on the edge of your bed, finally resigning to pick up.
you donât say anything first, wanting to hear him first. maybe you had to make sure this wasnât some twisted dream.
ââŠhey babe.â katsuki says, his gruff voice lingering with a soreness in his throat that can only come from prolonged exposure to the cold. that, paired witb the familiar nickname despite the circumstances, makes you clutch your phone.
âhey, kats.â you say, shifting on your bed to get comfortable. after all, any emotional night with katsuki bakugo was destined to be long.
âwhen did you land?â you ask, fiddling with your fingers. you hope he doesnât hear the trepidation in your voice.
âan hour ago.â he says, stifling a sniffle like a child would. you almost laugh, knowing him too well. he wasnât the kind of guy you could forget easily.
âi just needed to hear your voice.â he admits, more to himself than to you. crimson eyes watch the way the snowflakes fall to the ground, dancing around in the wind. he remembers how much you love snowflakes. how youâd always try to catch them on your tongue, and how stupid he thought it was. the things heâd give to go back to that.
the uncharacteristic vulnerability in his voice makes your eyes water. it was something about the cold that brought out the aches in people. like holidays that linger like bad perfume, you both could run from the hurt before getting lost in the snow. you escaped into your warm apartment, away from the world, while katsuki escaped into crowds of adoring fans away from home.
whats funny is that both of you remember how the other left.
the cold air pricks at katsukiâs fingers while he waits for a response. he almost thinks the connections gone out, when in truth, your holding back tears.
with a shaky sigh, you speak. âlets⊠call it even, then.â you whisper, but heâs captivated by your words like a firework show. âi wanted to hear you, too.â
the breath of relief katsuki lets out can be seen in the cold, night air.
there was about 100 thrown out letters you wished you could send him. you could vomit words onto paper, send them out into the winter air and let the wind deliver your confessions to him.
and honestly, he wants you to. more than anything, he wants to sleep in with you, pull the blankets over that shield you from the cold just for old time sake. and if you donât want him to stay this time, then he wonât ask you to wait.
if this doesnât work out, heâll go back to LA. heâll let his so called fans write books and stories about him, about his heroism and his nobility without knowing how much his heart hurts on the inside. theyâll wonder about the only soul who knows what that hurt feels like. the only soul who knows all the smiles heâs faking: you.
he hopes that he only breaks his own heart, wanting to spare you from it. if he could, heâd leave you the warmest bed youâve ever known. heâd call you babe for the weekend, and love you warm against the winter chill.
if somewhere, in his heart, katsukiâs love for you despite the breakup remained the same, then it was the same for you, too. if its okay with you, its okay with him. you could call it even. youâre missing his smile, and you want him to hear you out.
you might have to, with what heâs about to say next.
ââŠiâm outside, babe.â
