Imbuing the tractor with artificial intelligence had definitely been one of the Metacrisis’ better ideas - the vehicle went about its business steadily, working day and night with only the need for a little bit of maintenance now and then. It ploughed, it sowed, it watered, and hopefully in time it would reap, assuming that the grains that Doc had found in the barn were suitable for this climate.
So they had a rice field. And a wheat field. And a corn field. The rice was struggling a little with the lack of rain, and Doc was rigging the tractor to help with digging tunnels to the river to irrigate the field, when something went ping under the hood.
Some instinct made him dive aside a second before the tractor roared to life. It spun, headlights flashing for a moment as though it was staring at him, before turning abruptly and racing out of the garage.
Doc took off after it as the tractor careened out, spinning in a manner that he could only describe as angry. And given that it had gone after the Doctor before, words like ‘attack tractor’ kept floating (unhelpfully) to mind.
He attempted to leap on top of the vehicle, but it spun and nearly ran him over, before taking off in the opposite direction.
“Someone distract that thing while I disable it!” he yelled, hoping that there was anyone still hanging around who was available to help.
Rory had only just arrived, wherever here was, and was standing in a field that looked suspiciously like a farm. ‘Well, can’t just stand here’ he thought to himself as he began to head in the direction of the buildings, hoping there might be someone there who could help him or at the very least point him back toward home.
Rory was currently cursing the doctor for this, he had to have something to do with it all but as his anger at the alien fizzled out, he began to think about Amy and wondering if she would notice that he was missing. He pulled out his mobile to check for service and cursed himself as he found that no, he was indeed stranded. He sighed despondent and picked up the pace of his walking, the need to find other people more overwhelming then ever.
He heard a shout as he neared what he assumed was a barn, an extremely run down ramshackle one but one nonetheless. He heard an angry roar and dove out of the way just narrowly avoiding being hit by a tractor.
Once he stood and dusted the straw and dirt off his clothes he saw a tall skinny bloke running toward him and shouting so he jumped into action and picked up the nearest thing he could find and took off after and just managed to try climbing into the seat of the tractor, nearly being thrown off before he managed to get himself situated, even as the tractor continued to try throwing him.
“Might want to hurry up and do whatever you need to mate. Not sure how long this thing is going to let me stay on” he looked at the controls, trying to figure out how to either steer the thing or turn it off.

Working on the farm was very ideal to Castiel. He was able to be around nature and create things, not destroy them. He could definitely learn to love it here, if it weren’t for the fact that this was not their home.
Castiel was deep in the corn when he heard the sounds of a tractor. The Doctor must have gotten it started or something.
Castiel came out of the field to congratulate the man on his hard work, when his eyes were met with a very odd sight.
The tractor seemed to be posessed!
Castiel ran in front of the machine, waving his arms and tossing rocks at it, gaining its attention.
Now it was coming after him!
Castiel ran for the fence of the farm, hoping to hop over to find a safe haven somewhere beyond it, but the tractor mowed through the wooded barrier with ease and continued chasing Castiel.
“Doc, what did you do to it!?” He shouted back at the man.
Farmer duty. Honestly, not exactly her preferred designation, but all things considered, she thought it was probably her best bet. Could be worse. Could be hunting. Still, she’d like to think there was a better position for her. Someplace her particular strengths could be better used.
Executive Boss of the planet. Yeah. That would be good.
And that sentiment only rang truer for her when she took in her surroundings. One man flailing atop a tractor that seemed (and very likely did, if she were being honest) to have a mind of its own. Whilst another yelled at Mister Pointy who appeared to be trying to disarm the vehicle.
And this was the group she wasn’t fit to lead?
Sighing deeply, Clara made her way into the midst of the action -- appearing more annoyed than frightened. She’d fought worse. And honestly. It’s not like she could actually die. Or get hurt. She thought, anyway. Whatever. She had to test her theory sometime.
“All right, everyone calm down,” she said with her best Doctor voice. Intense? Check. Nervous? Sure. The assumption she’s going to win? Always. “Doc, you put in a fail safe, yeah? Big, red button probably. Anyone seen it?”
