As I cannot message Nights-at-crystarium or reply to his posts I hope my message can get through.
I would sincerely urge Nights-at-crystarium to seek professional mental health help or do mental health work sheets if professional mental health help is not within his means and ability. I say this as someone that has greatly benefitted from professional therapy and psychiatry.
(International resources will be posted at the bottom of this post.)
Just because Nights-at-crystarium is engaging in harmful and unhealthy behavior does not mean it is okay to send death threats or outwardly wish harm upon them. This is not a defense of hateful behavior. This is a firm reminder for all of us to be our best if we are able.
Expressing anger and other emotions is okay.
Publicly, or via messaging, wishing harm upon Nights-at-crystarium is not okay. Wishing harm upon this person is unhelpful to those harmed by this person's public statements. Threatening and violent messages will not make Nights-at-crystarium treat those he harmed via his public writings think differently.
In some cases threatening messages may be illegal in your and/or his jurisdiction.
Yes, it is illegal to make a criminal threat. Verbal threats may be said to be a joke or an intimidation tactic without the intention of causing bodily harm. If a plaintiff takes legal action in certain jurisdictions it can result in legal charges.
Some Penal Codes specifiy that criminal threats create fear in another person, making them fearful for their safety. Criminal threats may occur verbally, electronically, or in written form; regardless of the medium, the penalties are severe.
What is said in the heat of anger, justified or otherwise, can have horrible consequences.
(I found this out the fun way as an angry child.)
I hope we can ALL make good choices about how we speak/write to each other, especially in easily documented formats.
We should all be mindful of how our words impact others and how what we say can represent us.
