Owari no Seraph chapter 71 “The Black Demon’s 3 (people)”
Or what I refer to as, “a chapter in 4 parts”. Mainly 4 parts of dialogue. Lots of dialogue.
Whole chapter to be put up momentarily as spoilers didn’t come out this month.
The very first page of this chapter only raised a big question in my head (after having a huge heart jump, of course, thank you Kagami-sensei, Yamamoto-sensei);
Did Yuu lose his ability to sense anything? His emotionless, almost uncaring face even when Mika directly did it to him… no matter how much he is used to it, he should at least feel something, right? Is it because of the demon possession/seraph inside him, Yuu lost his ability in feeling pain or anything? Does he finally… become inhuman?
Hmm personally, I thought Yuu is just so used to it he doesn’t react much anymore.
He does have a little blush in another panel afterwards.
But maybe the drugs are making him more resistent to pain.
No, it’s not only that- after that right before JIDA soldiers attacked them, Yuu realized it even before Mika - that means his sense of other being/sound/enemies became sharper even from a vampire? It’s… Shocking

Yeah, it seems the seraph training coupled with the demon possession affect his casual form to the point that his senses are even sharper than Mika’s now.
I’d say they’re on equal footing now.
Which is alarming for both of them, since they’re losing their humanity.
I really wonder how this will play out.
Yuu seems so chill about everything and brushes off Mika’s concerns.
Something’s gonna happen soon.
Hm…Yuu did say he thinks his senses have become sharper since getting possessed by his demon.
I personally think he really just got used to it, or maybe Mika doesn’t like it when he’s starring? Which is understandable.
@no-signs-no-lights I think that “soon” might be already in the next chapter since they’re with Kureto and Shikama Doji now. Definitely no good news if you ask me…

As long as we’re not getting a: “Shikama Doji possesses Yuu and Shinoa and makes them act all lovey-dovey with each other which then results in a wild sex scene” I’m open for everything.

Hey, don’t worry, you don’t bother me at all! Given that their dialogue isn’t that long, I’ll just type down a translation for you :D
Ferid: “What do you think, Crowley-kun? They seem to have lots of fun, right? Ah, and so full of life they are. I can’t help but want to drink every single one of them to death!”
Ferid: “…Why are you looking at me like that? Wouldn’t you want to drink?”

Crowley, looking at the knife: “He just left it here… isn’t it something important? … I wonder what kind of world is in store for us, anyway? And will we get to gather these knives together?”
How to bond with Mika (ch. 69)
Mika: “Yuu-chan! Don’t you want to come inside?”
Yuu: “Hm, not yet~”
Mika: “Are you familiar with the proverb ‘Morons and smoke love high places’?” (It means that morons, just like smoke that rises in the air, know no limits and enjoy to stand out)
Yuu: “Nope. But since you just joined me right now, doesn’t that mean you’re also one?”
Mika: “Hm… guess I can’t deny that… and why do I even have to accompany you all on your way to Tokyo without my consent, I still wonder…”
Yuu: “Haha! Hey, your comrades have increased lately.”
Mika: “No, they haven’t?”
Yuu: “But yeah, and they will become more, look! The better the world gets, the more people can be seen again.”
Mika: “Ah, that’s none of my business, isn’t it.. neither of us are human anymore.” (you are smiling, though, you caring angel; you can’t fool us)

Mika: “WHAT!?”
Shinoa: “You called for us, Mika-san?”
Mika: “I didn’t?”
Mitsuba: “That he’s someone to enjoy such childish things… He really associates with Yuu.”
Mika: “As I said, I didn’t ca-”
Kimizuki: “It’s pretty cramped here. Move together a bit.”
Mika: “Hey, there’s no need to crowd me!?”
Yuu: “Mika, Mika.”
Mika: “What?”
Yuu: “Your friends have increased!”
Mika: “God, shut up!”
Can we talk about Yuu being the most amazing boyfriend ever? He learned how important friends are and now he passes that lesson on to Mika. He looks so happy to see that Mika is not alone. Gosh I am in tears.
I still like how much potential they have to complement each other and make up “a whole” together. They share enough similarities and differences, which, I think, is important to teach each other things while maintaining a deep bond you can only have with someone who, in spite of different points of view, truly understands you - that made me fall in love with the ship in the first place.
Mika was the first to show Yuu the meaning of family, and now Yuu expresses his gratitude for it by reminding Mika of what he’d been taught by him once. I’m known for my dissatisfaction with the story’s development still here for Mika tho lol, but this scene as a proof of how much Yuu wishes for Mika to make friends again was pretty cute and I agree with you! :)
