Wonderflex crown for Dark Pit
Feathered wings for Dark Pit commission. Green garden sticks, wire mesh, plastic mesh, Wonderflex, 4 different types of feathers.
Chise Hatori commission is complete.
I decided to scrap the other Chise dress (I made the armholes incorrectly.) I have remade the dress with a bridal satin stretch.
I’m back on my rigorous exercise regime. It’s Spring Training and I have to get in shape. I have a new cycling computer with a cadence sensor. I’m really tired lately, but I can tell I’m getting stronger & faster.
Shopping for fabric for my next big project.
Sewed on sleeves & trying to figure out the elastic + skirting.
Since there is no pattern for this… Chise’s nightgown is mostly me trying to figure out how to make this look like the references & keep the seams neat.
I gathered fabric then sewed it to another piece of fabric. Then I added elastic to the bottom. The placement of the front darts were adjusted a few times too.
I’ll make the back and add the skirting next.
The Mika Takeuchi corset & skirt my mom picked out with me have a steampunk feel to them. I don’t know how to coord stuff yet. But I bet I can sew/make stuff to match it better.. And get some proper shoes/socks.
Dark Pit’s sword bow is complete. After all the paint & glue have dried… Final weigh in is 10.4oz, 54 inches tall.
I’ve been gathering materials for the wings.
Merging patterns 2582 & 2852. Then I had to make even further pattern mods by hand drawing a few of the lines. I cut the fabric out. I've gotta mock pin this up & make sure everything fits properly.
Dark Pit’s bow-sword is 13oz. I’ll add a few more ounces when I glue everything down & paint the handle.
Went to the Lakers vs Grizzlies basketball game last night.
- paint: black gesso + textile medium, gold acrylic + textile medium, Testors blue metallic, thin layer of silver + textile medium. Textile medium makes acrylic slightly shiny and seals it. - Eva foam: cut with a box cutter and trimmed with scissors. - Wood glue: dries matte, sandable, paintable, dries clear. - Wonderflex: I picked off the mesh screen on the back to get rid of the rigidity & freeform it. It becomes really floppy so you have to be careful not to let it touch itself or it sticks to each other.
Sanded down the prop, sealed up gaps with wood filler & base located the details.
