What's your favorite creature from any video game world?
Feed your dashboard by answering my question, blogger.
The dog models from Skyrim. Wolfhounds need more game love and they were a perfect fit for the rugged art style of the game
I’m sorry, WHAT?
Someone kill me before I get older.
Another battle, another victory for the Skulls Sanctus!
With their unholy champion slain, the vile machinations of chaos will plague this planet no more.
And, with the Spaceport secured, local PDF manpower can assume a defensive position as the 5th company pulls out, their Oath’s fulfilled in this campaign.
There is to be no rest, as the heading has already been set for another planet in the Medusa system. Armor will be repaired, new oaths spoken, and war once again commences.
FINALLY!
My task is done!
I built this grand bastard 3 years ago, and since then he has sat in a stage of incompleteness for the whole time. Playing in games, not really inspiring me.
But then the crusade happened.
First game he proved himself, taking the heaviest blows from the strongest Orks my opponent could throw at him. He weathered it all, stood tall, and inspired me.
So I vowed to give Malacar the treatment he deserved. I contacted the guy who made the chapter transfers I was using and asked for a full sheet. He liked my work, and was kind enough to say yes.
Dreds in the future will look better, but he’s the first, he’s special to me, and I made him the best I could.
I love him.
Game two and three are in the bag!
Signals wracked by scrapcode and the fog of war lead to this little mishap of loyalist on loyalist violence.
It was quite the fight, Balvor and Ottavio squad were beaten down, but struck the attackers down in kind for their chapter’s honor (Gladius is actually insane, I’ve been hamstringing myself playing Anvil)
In the end, the (suspected) traitor wolves were struck down to a man before signals cleared up.
Game three was an unfortunate loss.
My opponent won on points, but it was a classic “one more turn and I would table you” so writing a story tied to this one won’t be all that difficult.
As of now, the crusade is carrying 14 crusade points as my XP gain has been wild, so I’m expecting some matchups to give my opponents crusade blessings.
“For the Ancestor of All!”
(Chapter battle cry is a WIP)
For those that don’t get it, Redemptors burn up the Marine like a battery.
So the same shell might of had 5 people use it.
Tech Priest thinking on display.
I think this works…
In the latest codex, they maintain that the redemptor pattern still burns out the pilot. However, they don’t clarify that the brutalis does/doesn’t.
Being that the brutalis is an alteration on the redemptor chassis, one could infer that both burn the pilot out. Or, for some reason, the designers of the redemptor just said “eh, fuck it”.
Or we’re a codex away from burnout being retconned when they stop selling the older models, and dreadnought lore goes back to pre- firstborn/primaris split
First game of the Crusade! Strike Force Balvor vs the vile greenskins!
I’m going to follow this post up a little with some lore blurb text posts, but this is more about the actual game.
Things started a little dubious, as the venerable brother Malacar found himself beset not just by Orks, but by Warboss Dirtmouth and his 10man squad of meganobs.
Malacar was bracketed, but with the aid of Techmarine Arkos (and some unlucky dice on my opponents part) the ceremite strongpoint held!
The start of this crusade has a maximum unit toughness of 10 for balancing purposes to reign in 10th editions vehicle meta. My opponent brought two Deff dread’s, and so far it felt pretty balanced. Probably because my eradicators popped one before it could do anything.
(The grots are not long for this world)
Other notable moments are Captain Blackhand being charged by a Deff Dread, taking NO DAMAGE, punching said Dread to death, and tanking its explosion. Also, the battle of the mechs.
(Arkos about to slaughter the greenskin who would pervert the machine god’s blessing so)
This was the best I’ve played, probably ever. Many an Ork was slain, but Blackhand’s Charge is just beginning!
(LEAD ME TO THE SLAUGHTER!)
Facebook is transvestigating the space marines
Bad day to be Asian.
Finished up my first sternguard veteran, pretty happy with how this guy came out overall ! A little annoyed at the wonky gun barrel drill but oh well, really happy with how the white came out tho
I wasn't sure what the model reveal was going to be, but I wasn't holding out much hope.
And I wasn't disappointed. It's what was expected, more f*****g Space Marines.
Sigh.
FUCK YEA, MORE SPACE MARINES!
Surveying.
Environmental storytelling
Did someone say Horus was commitin’ a Heresy?
Wip, needs more weathering but the baseline concepts are there so I can crank things out and get playing
Sometimes this job isn’t so bad.
Random 40K Thought
OK, I am getting contradictory information.
I am seeing stuff that says that the Space Marines recruit prepubescent boys, cuz they take Geneseed best, but I'm also seeing stuff that they tend to recruit from their respective homeworlds' best warriors, and also there's the whole thing with the Lion's mentor-turned-lieutenant-turned-betrayer Luther/
So which is it?
Prepubescent boys and being the best aspiring warriors of a clan in the 40K verse are not separate, and can be both true at once.
Luther and some of the other Calabanites(spelling?) being changed when they were was a risky proposition, but happened because original gene alterations and lore demands it.
Yeah, I was apparently misinformed that they recruited from the best warriors, not the the kids with potential, although I'm not clear on how well they're able to gauge that, but eh, I've accepted weirder.
The acceptance we do to throw dice with the homies.
