I'm so happy to be back in action my fellow STATIC fanatics!!
Most of my comittments have wrapped up, with a few more finishing in the coming week... which means I can finally get back to recording STATIC chapters <3
Given how long @mak3morn's chapter word-counts have become (a blessing!!), I think from this point forward I'll be releasing the audio readings in 1 hour segments, rather than waiting until I have the entirety of the chapter recorded and edited. I'd like to hear what you all have to think about this, but I can't lie, recording 2 hours of audio to whittle down to 1 via editing vs recording 6 hours of audio to whittle down to 3 feels like a much more achievable task, and lets me get the content out to you quicker!
All that to say:
I'll have the first hour of STATIC Chapter 4 out by Saturday June 13th at the latest.
Lastly, I'd like to give a massive, resounding shoutout to @mak3morn for their continued work on this amazing story. I'm so grateful to have gotten to know you personally since embarking on this ambitious venture, and am beyond honored to have become one of the Beta editors for the fic. Truly a dream come true to collaborate with someone so skilled (and fun and kind to boot!!) <3
If you haven't yet read this incredible murdermedia tale you can find it here, and if you'd like to give it a listen via my voice, you can find chapters 1-3 here!
Staring
I hope he found another frog who likes him.

Run, don’t walk folks ♥️
Had a blast beta-ing this chapter, Mak cooked up a feast as usual 🔥
Tune your dials, ladies and gentlemen, and adjust those rabbit ears!
From the earliest telegraph clicks of 1847 to the golden age of television in 1955, we’ve assembled some of the most spectacular transmissions ever to grace the ether…
So settle in with your best gal or fella, pour yourself something from the liquor cabinet (we won’t tell), and let the phonograph spin. These are the hits that survived the noise, the melodies so good, not even bad reception could kill ’em.
Broadcasting now from your local frequency… This is STATIC, coming in loud and clear!
📻 And now, a word from the studio… 📻
We’d like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the incomparable @sophialore for lending her expertise to this broadcasting endeavor.
Thanks a million, doll. Couldn’t have done it without you.

I’ve been having the best time recording a podfic of @mak3morn ‘s incredible murdermedia AU fic STATIC.
I wanted people to be able to enjoy the immaculate writing while multitasking if they were short on time!
I hope that folks who give it a try, whether by reading or listening enjoy it as much as I do ♥️
golden rule, motherfucker.

Chapter 3: Soley Leve by Rustycookies
a little nuts about this fic right now
So I loved this same fic so much I decided to bite the bullet and record my first ever Podfic. I hope this story delights others as much as it delighted both myself and @ventrantvens

📻what a creep

i'm obsessed with him 🥵💘
Today is the happiest day of my life , radiostatic is REAL ✊✊
Back in 2020 I’d been in the process of drawing a six character lineup (that I sadly never completed 😅) and today’s fun episodes reminded me of my human Alastor design in it!
Really fun to see how close so many fan designs ended up being to his final look ☺️ What did you think of the final reveal?
I didn’t have ‘toxic het-ship gets you drawing again’ on my 2025 bingo card but alas, there’s something about the rage, grief and wish-fulfillment (on Lute’s end) that’s compelling to sketch.

5 Tiny Writing Tips That Aren’t Talked About Enough (but work for me)
These are some lowkey underrated tips I’ve seen floating around writing communities — the kind that don’t get flashy attention but seriously changed how I write.
1. Put “he/she/they” at the start of the sentence less often.
Try switching up your sentence rhythm. Instead of
“She walked to the window,”
try
“The window creaked open under her touch.”
Keeps it fresh and stops the paragraph from sounding like a checklist.
2. Don’t describe everything — describe what matters.
Instead of listing every detail in a room, pick 2–3 objects that say something.
“A half-drunk mug of tea and a knife on the table”
sets a way stronger tone than
“There was a wooden table, two chairs, and a shelf.”
3. Use beats instead of dialogue tags sometimes.
Instead of:
"I'm fine," she said.
Try:
"I'm fine." She wiped her hands on her skirt.
It helps shows emotion, and movement.
4. Write your first draft like no one will ever read it.
No pressure. No perfection. Just vibes. The point of draft one is to exist. Let it be messy and weird — future you will thank you for at least something to edit.
5. When stuck, ask: “What’s the most fun thing that could happen next?”
Not logical. Not realistic. FUN. It doesn’t have to stay — but chasing excitement can blast through writer’s block and give you ideas you actually want to write.
What’s a tip that unexpectedly helped with your writing? Let me know!! 🍒
