Among young teenagers, you probably have two main groups. Kids that know that the future sure knows how to step on the accelerator, that spend time doing homework, and making friends. And then thereâs the kind of youth that you hear old people about oh so often, those âpunksâ that canât be bothered to take anything seriously, and especially not their lives, or the people surrounding them. Brady, however, belonged to the latter category. Having grown up in the big city, Brady easily found himself losing interest in education, hard work, and the so called âgood pathâ, and quickly found himself fitting in into the underground life at the young age of twelve, his parents not putting much thought into it, as they came from such life as well, and believed it to be innocent, if not a way to learn how to stand on both your feet. After all, he was the oldest of three siblings, and a little bit of spine wouldnât hurt.Â
But it was around that dozen years of age that something in his life changed, and changed drastically. His father was caught selling XTC behind his wifeâs back, âcausing Mr. Zanderâs fate to be in the hands of the court, while the Mrs, though soon to be Ms, left him, taking their three children under her wing. And so, for safetyâs sake, and for a better childhood for the kids, she decided that moving to a small town would be the best decision. But unfortunately, her oldest son didnât take it as easily as his two sisters. Having to flow into a new school after a really stressful time, in a âstuck upâ small town, it didnât leave him with too many social contacts but the wrong ones. And really, Brady liked it that way. There was something about the outing of his anger in the reckless things they did, that drew him in.Â
Things went on this way, and Brady found himself getting deeper and deeper into trouble, yet without wanting to do much about it other than staying at home watching TV, procrastinating his way through the years. That was, until his mother died in a successful suicide attempt, unable to take and handle the stress that had been pressing on her from the day she met her former husband, till they day she swallowed countless sleeping pills. And if the leaving of his father hadnât done enough, the loss of his mother stroke the final blow, leaving the irresponsible youngster to take care of two even younger siblings.Â
This was when Brady finally stood up, and started doing more with his life than spending days wasting it. Feeling like this was their only chance, their only way to honor the loss of a parent, was to pick up where she had left off. With as less experience as motivation, Brady had found himself various illegal jobs he wasnât officially allowed to do at his age, only to get him fired weeks later. It broke him, torn him right to the point where he was about to pick school back up for the sake of those he was responsible for, but it seemed he was too late.Â
Social services had shown up on their doorstep, having noticed their home situation; A lost cause fifteen year old, taking too much on his plate by trying to take care of two younger siblings. Needless to say, his sisters were taken from him, causing a burst of aggressive rage from the protective teenager, who clearly didnât want to be taken from the only family he had left. Social services took this as a bad sign, using this fit as a reason to forbid him to see them, and to take him to counseling before placing him in a foster home.Â
This was when the Mansion stepped in. Brady still has no idea how they managed to snatch him out of the stateâs hands and supervision, but they did, giving him a new life with a fresh page to start on.Â
Though freaked out at first, Brady quickly found himself falling back into his lazy mannerisms, shutting himself away from everyone in this environment in the process. He was left with nothing but materialism, paradise. Except he was alone. It drained him from any spark of motivation he had to get up and do something, sometimes ending up spending more energy on avoiding activities than said activity would actually take. He didnât want to participate in the lessons he was obligated to follow, on torture, sex, destroying people inside and out. And despite this being his own choice, a choice that didnât matter, he still feels like the black sheep of the Mansion, the odd one out. After all, he is recently the oldest one to still be an apprentice, and never had passed on the subjects they had to complete. Like all those years ago, he still feels like a failure, but of course, this isnât something he shares. He much rather screws around, spends days in his room, stays away from soberness in any way from time to time, and sees sex as something that needs to come from both ends.Â
