This one took FOREVER to find, but I did it!

From a piece I did in 2018 as a practice in exploding moments. BaBasically,sically taking a fast-paced moment and slowing it down into parts to work on detail and observation. I will be doing this again soon actually because it's one of my favourite things to do!

It all began with a hello. I was hooked from that moment, and every second since then has led to this moment. All 47,335,389 seconds and counting lead to this very moment where I sliced the throat of the man who bullied my Marissa for almost 12 years of her life. The first slice wasn’t enough, though. So each stab after was to punctuate and make sure he knew how much it hurt. She’d told me once that it felt like being stabbed when his foul words would fling at her. Now he knew that feeling. I could see the essence fly from his skin onto mine, into my hair and onto my clothes. I felt as his breathing slowed to a stop and the light drained from his eyes. I felt his body go limp and heard the sick sound of metal entering soft flesh.

me: but you know what I really want to hear about? how did he file his taxes? did he have to pay muggle property tax because he lived in a muggle neighborhood or does it fall under wizarding jurisdiction if the property owner is a wizard? by all indications he effectively grew up in a muggle household. does he have a muggle paper trail? how much intergovernmental cooperation is there? could he have claimed muggle unemployment benefits while working at Hogwarts?

can you imagine? Severus Snape, avoids going to Azkaban for war crimes, ends up in muggle prison for tax fraud

Is Snape nice? No. Is he an absolute comedy icon with a flair for dramatic timing? Yes! I mean he literally stood there waiting and being insulted multiple times just to reveal himself at the perfect moment. We stan.

21 year old Severus Snape waking up to an eleven year old slytherin quietly calling his name from the doorway outside his personal quarters. He throws on a robe and stumbles to the door, bleary eyed and thoroughly exhausted.

“Yes?” He manages to get out, praying to every higher power that he won’t need to actually contribute energy into a human conversation at this ungodly hour.

“…Sir…I—I frew up”

Severus Snape knew a lot of Curses

"Snape knew more curses when he arrived at school than half the kids in seventh year..."

Profanity. He means profanity, not spells, because Snape grew up in a magic-hostile home. Severus Snape learned to cuss like a sailor from his alcoholic father. At eleven he could assert dominance by swearing a blue streak so powerful people assumed he could back it up, but it was a bluff and various people figured that out before he acquired the bite to match his bark.

Adult Professor Severus Snape didn't swear much in '91 - '98 because he was a school teacher for about a decade by then and once lost an entire pay cheque to the swear jar in the staff room.
