sh recovery is HARD and i feel like people whoāve never struggled with sh donāt get that at all. they think that when youāve been clean for a while, it means that you donāt think about it. itās an addiction!! i literally think about it every day and just because iām better at not giving in doesnāt mean i donātĀ need support.
recovery means fighting off relapses no-one else sees
I know SEVERAL afab nonbinary people who, as soon as they came out as nonbinary - immediately began dressing in ridiculous hyper-femme outfits they never would have worn before.Ā A lot of people see this and say shit likeĀ āTheyfabā or say they are only nonbinary for attention.Ā After all, look how femme they are.
But to me, this makes perfect sense.Ā When you are forced into the category ofĀ āwomanā against your will, femininity is a chore.Ā Itās a job that you have.Ā As soon as you say no, Iām not a woman, suddenly femininity isnāt your job anymore.Ā Itās not a requirement.Ā Itās just a fun hobby you can get into.Ā Or a little treat sometimes.
This can also apply to trans men! Its the same concept. Going from afab to a femboy is completely valid and understandable. Being afab makes you feel like you have to dress feminine. (For most of us)
But then you get rid of the norm and suddenly your free to do whatever the hell you want.
rich: *is encouraging me to buy a super cute skirt online*
me: 'but i can't be a cute boy in a skirt :('
him: 'yeah you can. that's called a femboy, darling.'
me: 'but i'm afab?'
him: 'if you wanna be an adorable femboy then you absolutely can. a femboy is a state of mind that anyone can achieve if they so will it, regardless of agab.'
*me, nodding along like he's a wise sage giving me advice*
Trans men and transmascs make the world a better place.

(this is the flag)
a gender i coined (unless it already exists and i don't know) for male/masc aligned people who identify as femboys :3
(this flag is transhet inclusive)
