— F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby (via thequotejournals)
“A couple of times in your life, it happens like that. You meet a stranger, and all you know is that you need to know everything about them.”
— Lisa Kleypas; Sugar Daddy
“You’re the only person I’ve ever met who seems to have the faintest conception of what I mean when I say a thing.”
— Virginia Woolf, The Voyage Out
i am going to have a beautiful life with or without you in it
From The Dining Table- Live in Manchester
whoever’s reading this, i pray that you find happiness. not temporary happiness, or “if i pretend and put on a smile & laugh, maybe i’ll be happy” kind of happiness, but long lasting real happiness. the kind of happiness that makes ur face glow & lights up ur soul. you deserve it
I won’t lie, and tell you it’s alright.
Be with someone who is good for your mental health
I’m worth so much more than the ways I’ve been treated
“Lately, there’s been some sense of missing you. Not that I’ll do anything about it. Not that it matters, anymore. But there has been some sort of a craving for you. Or what you used to be, what we used to have. These nights grow lonely before they grow cold. Maybe that’s why I find myself seeking your warmth. I wish we kept contact. It’d be nice to know you’re alright.”
— “But I’m tired of thinking about you” remnant-thoughts
and here you are, continuing on, despite how hard it’s been
“You stop waiting for people to come back; start looking instead for the people who are willing to stay.”
— Spencer Martin Keats // Forgotten words #1 (via theprocast)
people are allowed to leave you. people are allowed to break up with you. people are allowed to love you but not want to be with you. people are allowed to not want to talk to you. people are allowed to put their happiness before yours and do what makes them happy even if it does not include you. people are allowed to move on from you. people are allowed to fall in love with someone else. people are allowed to not want you in their life. people are allowed to do whatever they want to better themselves and become the version of themselves they are trying so hard to love. don’t be bitter towards someone who is only trying to be happy.
If it comes, let it. If it goes, let it.
“1. Time does not heal. Time makes you forget and does a good job of making memories blurry. Take healing into your own hands - don’t wait for someone else to do it. 2. Do not waste your I love you’s. The more you flaunt the word around to people you’ve just met and early lovers, the less it will mean when love really hits. 3. Create a list of things you want to do in life. I’m not talking about going to see the northern lights or visiting Hawaii. The little things that can be easy to accomplish such as: trying caviar, painting your room, and trying that new sushi place. Checking off the little things in life is the best self-esteem boost. 4. Always take the high road. If you’re working with rude people or someone has done wrong to you, do not stoop to their level. What’s goes around will come back around. Trust me. 5. Offer to help. People appreciate someone that genuinely wants to give a helping hand whether it’s setting the table or carrying heavy boxes. 6. Stop being hard on yourself. Who cares if you did not get an A on that test? Does it matter if you embarrassed yourself at lunch the other day? Move on. We’re only human. 7. Read more. 8. Be open minded. People who can not see past their own opinions do not go anywhere in life. 9. Accept your flaws. 10. Invest in yourself. Buy yourself that new art set, or new shoes, or order some good take out. The little things in life are often over looked, but they add up in the best ways.”
