soo… its no surprise that i haven’t been here. basically my muse for jesus has kind of been nonexistent. and more of a harder muse for me to write. however, i did recently make a lily evans from the harry potter books. and i’ve been spending my time there. so if you’d like to follow me there i would be forever grateful because i love the people that I’ve met here?? also !! if anyone wants to make an hp blog, the fandom is kinda small but growing, and basically i would die of happiness. more so if you made a marauder, like james, sirius, or moony. and if you did want to make them i would totally help in anyway. but yeah. so…. i love you all. and maybe i’ll be back?? but for now you can find me on lily.

alright so i surpassed 300 followers awhile ago, and i just want to put this out there to tell everyone how much i appreciate them?? when i first made paul i was so nervous tbh. this was a new fandom and i’m really just an awkward turtle. i always like to put the utmost into my characters, and i want to be able to do justice no matter the character. so the fact that people think I'm doing an okay job is just so amazing. and also the welcome that I've had made me feel instantly comfortable here. i just want to thank you all for putting up with my nonsense and being so kind and welcoming. i appreciate each and every one of you. <3

daryl has always been the kind of person to have his guard up against everything; any hand reached out to him was immediately assumed to mean harm before kindness and with his stay at sanctuary that habit was in overdrive. he’d been scared —- a wounded and starving animal shoved in a box and the treatment within those walls had done too many things to his heart and mind. paul had seen pieces of him that he wasn’t willing to share. the broken ones. the ones that needed to be thrown out and yet they always found their way back whenever dixon thought he was doing alright.

people move around them but dixon doesn’t see them; blues turned and trained on paul. a hunter. daryl only ever saw what he was stalking — what he was intending to obtain and in paul there was information and so much more. the man was his shot at redemption. everything that had happened with dwight was supposed to be his last try at bringing people in, at trusting others and yet he’d spent the day with rick chasing paul down and somehow got talked into bringing him back to patch him up. he’d told rick he didn’t care, told him that he wasn’t going to stay.

but paul proved to be so much more than just trouble.

dwight had betrayed him in more ways than one. finding him, helping him and sherry —- it was one of the biggest mistakes of his life. caring about others. when had that started, exactly? when did he start sticking his neck out for people he didn’t know well? was it because of grimes and the others? because they had lost so much when the prison crumbled and the life he knew was taken away from him? was it beth who believed there was good people as long as you looked? no. it was long before that.

it was nights staying up and combing the woods for a little girl lost at the end of the world. it wasn’t something picked up from other people. dixon had it in him because his heart was too damn big,

aaron had called him out on it once but daryl had been quick to shoot him or anyone else down. paul would have been easy to do the same to but there was a wall down between them that daryl was used to using for support in such barking. paul had seen him weak, had seen him at his lowest. and he’d saved him. returned the favor rather than make daryl regret it every time he blinked.

it was something that daryl was still trying to process. this guy —- this man who joked about having a holy nickname; firecrackers in a trashcan or part of his path to peace? acceptance? understanding? he doesn’t know. daryl wants to scream in the middle of the hilltop, wants to demand paul tell him what it was he really wanted, what he intended because lord knew he couldn’t handle another person taking from him like others had – but he stares, stuck at the information that he’d risked his life simply because it seemed like it was the proper thing to do.

“y'just let him go? to that place ——- on his own??” he’s too frustrated about too many things and all of it vents out through his voice, adds a harshness that shouldn’t be there. daryl isn’t stupid; he knows damn well that carl had a lot more to do to the trip to sanctuary than just paul. he knew carl. the kid would have been past done with waiting around, just like he had been when the two of them had guns aimed at the governor. he’d stopped the young grimes from pulling the trigger back then, resulting in the deaths of so many. the separation. the heartbreak. dominoes. but maybe, still, for the better. carl had no business being at sanctuary and while negan played up being a good host daryl’s heart had been in his throat the entire time. a few weeks ago he would have exploded, would have barked good and loud, maybe even thrown a punch over how someone had stupidly risked someone he cared for’s life but under the hot sun the fight seems to exhale right out of him. his head drops in time with his shoulders as if speaking those few angry words had been a marathon.

he’s too tired. he’s too tired in ways that sleep will not fix.

“shoulda stayed put. both'a ya.”

the sun beat down on the pair, unforgiving. curious onlookers began to take notice of the lingering bodies in the georgia heat. it only proved that the people within paul’s community truly did not understand the world around them, or they simply didn’t want to. he makes eye contact with a few. faces he’s known since being here, wordlessly indicating that this wasn’t a spectacle. they immediately shrunk back. a few still lingered, too subtle for paul to care. but the feigned work was noticeable. like a moth to the f l a m e, they were still drawn. and so was he, perhaps. drawn to the situation at hand.

so easily could he walk away, let daryl succumb to whatever shadows followed. paul almost wished he would walk away. wouldn’t bother with it at all. after all, the bowman wasn’t his problem. but, that wasn’t the way paul was wired. he always held a kindness, a need, to help people. it was the will of his soul. of his being. he wanted what was best for the greater good. and even if sometimes it may seem warped or tattered, he reverted back to kindness.

as much as he wanted to take on the world a l o n e. and if the hands of death took him then so be it. but – BUT he always reverted back to it. emotions ran amuck. and attachments would be formed. for someone who cared so deeply who found a desire to fight alongside – he couldn’t afford the reckless nature that surfaced more often than not.

he cared. that was his problem. he cared too much. for what — that question circulated his mind like a storm.

perhaps that was why he still stood there, now. the other finally turning, his gaze unwavering && unrelenting – but still gentle. despite the harshness that slips through the bowman’s tone. paul does his utmost to reel himself in and keep his own emotions in check.

‘carl went to the sanctuary, because he couldn’t sit around any longer.’ he understand the younger boy’s actions, would he have done the same. probably. he himself was tired of the saviors looming over their heads. he had his own agenda being on that truck. maybe he could have done more to keep carl from going in guns firing. but then again, he too had an agenda.

‘frankly – i couldn’t either. do what you will with that. but i took a chance.’ he states firmly, tone remaining low. ‘you think i should have left you there?’
