It had been far too long since he saw his siblings, having been pushed out was not his favorite thing. He had stayed out of his brotherâs fight for so long but with him being out of alcohol and the angels in the darkness not shutting up he had left. Who had known that he would run into Michael first out of all his siblings.
âMichael.â He spoke, his wings twitching a little before they retracted finally into his back. He was not use to having to keep them hidden after always having them out. The one thing that reminded him of home. It just seemed that humans didnât take well to an angel showing off his wings.
Of course, it would be his luck. That is, if he believed in such a thing. No longer was there any luck, any fate. That had disappeared the moment Father did, the moment he had turned his back on his loving and faithful sons. He, simply, did not see. Much like now with himself, dark eyes blinking against the sight of a brother long thought lost. Perhaps he is, perhaps he is just like the rest of his siblings. There is a war, plain and simple. And Michael was on his own. He had prayed he wasn't. But there was no one to answer his call. "Azrael." The name is foreign on a tongue not used to speaking of his others. Eyes trace the movement  as wings retract, an itch in his shoulders where his own want to spread, show himself as the better and warn his brother of the pain to come if he dares to challenge him. He can never be too sure who is with Gabriel, after all.
"Something tells me you had not expected my company."

There was a shifting between them as Alex took a very small step towards active participation, something switched over in his mind, gears turned and an odd sense of purpose took hold. He was far from believing he was anyoneâs savior but there was a war brewing and anything that could weed out allies from enemies, well, he was all for that. Â
He glanced behind himself out of habit, making sure there was no one to overhear him. âWhat do you want me to do - Iâm just supposed to let him keep building an underground following until it becomes and army?â Â
His frustration was obvious as he muttered under his breath, running a hand through his hair. âClaire is engaged to him⌠. if sheâs in any danger.â He swallowed thickly.
âI canât ignore this.âÂ
"There's nothing more you can do."
He wishes there was, but accusations as heavy as being a black acolyte were few in Vega, the reception of said crime unfavorable in any condition. David was a large player in humanity's game, whatever it may be. His son, it seems, is following in his footsteps.
"Claire has her own security, her own haven. The people of Vega are the main priority. If William is indeed an acolyte, there is no proof that he's helping Gabriel. Until then, we can only wait, only watch."
He's watched over Alex long enough to know that what he's about to say won't be taken very...receptively.Â
"And you must not go to visit Claire. As you said, she is engaged to William. She's a variable that we cannot account for if she were to spill some of the information we knew. You'll be putting yourself, Claire, and the entirety of Vega in danger. You're already a target, don't make those around you ones either."

The sight of blood makes the weak weaker. But the strong, the strong feed off it, become stronger still. You are one of the strong, William.
Can you bring me to him?
Michael + Alex Lannon â Season 01 Episode 03
Any trace of snark fell from his expression as he listened to Michael speak the same thing heâd been repeating for three days, and for three days Alex had been trying to ignore the sincerity he heard in it. That flicker of regret, it caught him off guard.
A comment about not needing a protector but a father and a friend was stalled on his tongue, he refrained from mentioning how much he wanted to blame him for Jeepâs death, for everything.Â
"Thereâs something not⌠right with William." If he spoke up now and he was wrong heâd lose his job and be worse off than he was as an orphan, if he lived that is. But if he didnât and his instincts were right?
Carefully he pulled the scrap of burnt fabric from his pocket and handed it to Michael, the image of an eye drawn on it was still visible through the singed discoloration.
"I know I havenât been on this detail long but he keeps really odd hours and sometimes he doesnât come back until after dawn and today I found that in the trash while I was securing his room."Â
"Itâs a piece of an acolyte shroud, I thought. But it could be anything. Iâm probably wrong."Â
Brows rise slightly as the other begins to speak of William, of all people, and hides the relief he feels that they're actually speaking for once. He always keeps his promises, and with Jeep's passing coupled with the ever-growing threat of war, the one standing in front of him has never been more important.
Eyes immediately turn their attention to the fabric Alex retrieves from his pocket. They stay locked on the offered evidence even as hands carefully take the scrap from the other.
"No." He starts, fingers running over the fabric in an attempt to feel the etched design as well as see it. "It is...a possibility. He has caught my eye many times before..."
The piece of clothing is quickly placed inside his pocket, gaze earnest as he looks to Alex once more. "You must make sure William suspects nothing. Do not questions his routine, nor should you report this to anyone else. David will not be pleased to hear of this...accusation."
- You had to be on your own, to struggle and fall, so you could rise. - I needed a father. - Thatâs what Jeep said. You were the most important thing in his life. He loved you more than anything, yet he gave you up because he believed in you.
Shuffle of angels feet
âLucy.â it wasnât like he was asking what she is ,or anything. Besides she didnât know her real name just the one she thought was her real name. It wasnât like she was doing anything wrong yet.
"Lucy." He repeats, slowly as if in a drawl. Steps are taken forward, pace the epitome of leisure. He doesn't know what brought his attention to the girl, but from the looks of things, there was something not right going on.
Eyes narrow slightly as he begins.
"And where would you be going?"
Eve was a tad preoccupied with the apple to really even notice that the guy was still there. She glanced over as she munched on a mouthful, trying not to talk and be rude. Eve was aware her manners were horrible and her attitude was worse, but the guy gave her food so she really should try to be nice.
"Hey," she frowned at him after she swallowed a mouthful "Best and only meal Iâve had in a week." she said pointing to her apple with a grin. She eyed him close, wondering what he did that gave him so many credits and made him so important. She didnât ask, because he was probably just going to leave her here once heâd done his little bit of charity and felt good about himself like the Riccen girl did.
Eve finished her apple rather quickly, regretting it because she was still starving. She smiled at him âThanks again.â she said as she tossed the core into the trashcan that wasnât far away.
Again, he realised he should get going, worry about something other than the inevitable starving population. But her words made him stay, his own voice surprising even himself.
"Do not worry. I'll make sure to keep an eye on you so you never go hungry again."
It's a promise he can make, and one he can keep despite the war that was, no doubt, soon to come. His attention his never focused on the majority of Vega, usually only given to those he cares for. Yet, something inside him is saddened to see one human suffering under the hands of the system. His distaste for it is only calmed due to the outweighing organization it has brought to Vega. To change it would mean the fall of humanity's stronghold.
He smiles again, a small upturning of his lips. She doesn't recognize him, but he will recognize her. "Before I leave, I don't think I ever caught your name."
