i’ve been seeing people saying that robin is “just being used to further will’s development this season and that’s not fair to her” and while of course this kind of thing has been an issue in so many pieces of media i don’t feel like this is the case here. or rather like yes obviously they are using robin (the only other canon queer main character so makes sense on that level first of all) to help will but i think this is actually one of my favorite aspects of this season and of her character and actually means a lot in the context of the time period. this story is set against the backdrop of a time where the relationships between lesbians and gay men where so integral to the community and where integral to SAVING LIVES in the AIDS crisis. Lesbians supported gay men through one of the scariest times in queer history and yet it’s still something we rarely talk about. no matter what the intention was behind the robin will relationship i think it’s a good opportunity to acknowledge this. and yes, though i strongly dislike the rovickie relationship i think if it wasn’t happening id be less supportive of the way their “using” robin in some ways if they were gonna have her just help a gay ship while ending up alone herself.

Okay but ronance happening alongside byler at this point would be fabulous all on its own but also so so funny bc can you imagine it from jonathan's pov. He's so fixated on the idea that steve might "win" nancy back and puts his all into that dick-measuring contest and then nancy DOES leave him but instead for her and steve's mutual girlbestfriend that he didn't even regard as in the running. And then he turns around to find his little brother finally landed his own wheeler.
