I need all of these annoying scam bots gone from tumblr
Ahh the left text is the first message I got from someone when I just installed Tumblr. My monkey brain actually fell for it but then the dude texting me says "you need to go on Discord and contact this person" and I'm like "damn do I have to?"
My ass was too lazy to even download Discord on my phone. My laziness saved me from getting scammed.

...or affectionate:
➵ Ruffled ➵ Nuzzled ➵ Kissed ➵ Linked arms with ➵ Nestled against ➵ Curled around ➵ Leaned into ➵ Rested a hand on ➵ Laced fingers with ➵ Pulled close
...or romantic:

I love writing quickly—especially when I’m in the flow—but there is one thing that completely snaps me out of it.
It’s when you’re searching for that one specific word. Then you sit in front of your computer and wonder what that word is. You ask Google, despairing because you can't even think of a good description for the word.
Until you use a different word, even if it doesn't sound as good, and then you get annoyed because you sit there for minutes and are thrown out of the flow.
I actually have a solution for this!!
The modern writer hack: tk
Two letters almost never found together in English, that can be easily ctrl+f searched out and solved later.
Whenever you hit a snag in the flow, just throw in a tkword, tkphrase, tkplace, tkperson... you get it. Search it later. Research it later. Power through now, and don't lose the rhythm you're in!
(This is not my original idea, but I have unfortunately forgotten the many authors I have heard use this trick. If I can think of who I know does this later, I'll add a comment to the below. 😊)
Swoopy bangs (or just bangs in general) look good until they keep trying to get into your eyes every. single. fucking. time and blocking your vision.
I don’t wanna get involved in the drama I just wanna know 103% of the information on what happened
Mentally making a cup of tea and giving a gentle forehead kiss to every struggling writer on my dash right now.
Your story matters, your ideas are good, and someone out there is going to fall in love with your world.
I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
Don't forget sometimes you tap x on an ad and it turns out to be a fake x and it sends you to another website because the real x only appears five seconds later
it’s a canon event.

On the plus side my cat whom I thought went missing came back and meowed at my face when I woke up as if greeting me
Life is good
If you think what you're writing is above your skill level, do it anyway. You might surprise yourself in what you are able to do, and even if you don't, the experience is worth it. Write, and write, and write some more. You can always re-write it when your skill increases. But your skill level will never increase if you don't challenge yourself and above all else-- write.
Your dialogue is stiff because everyone is being too honest
Great dialogue can come from radical emotional honesty. But in most real conversations, people
dodge questions
answer indirectly
lie (badly)
change the subject
crack jokes to avoid serious answers
lie (convincingly)
say half of what they mean
tell the truth but get so anxious/angry/defensive others now think they're lying
If your dialogue feels unnatural, it might be because everyone is saying exactly what they think, or articulating their thoughts too well. Try letting characters hide things instead.
Subtext is where tension lives.
Cool Ways to Show a Character Is Traumatized (Without Saying "Traumatized"):
• They memorize where every exit is in a room
• They check their phone repeatedly after sending a message, worried they said the wrong thing
• They freeze when asked a simple question, like they’re calculating the safest answer • They over-explain tiny mistakes before anyone reacts • They clean up messes that aren’t theirs without being asked • They listen for footsteps in hallways before relaxing • They downplay their own pain with humor or sarcasm
• They check locks more than once before bed • They leave shoes near the door, ready to leave quickly
• They wake up instantly at small sounds while others sleep through them
• They carry painkillers, snacks, or water everywhere “just in case.”
• They don’t like closed doors.
• They test people subtly to see if they'll leave
• They sit near walls or corners, rarely the center of a room.
• Loud noises don’t scare them anymore, they just go very still
• They apologize automatically, even when nothing went wrong
• Compliments make them visibly uncomfortable.
• They keep important things within arm’s reach at all times
• They watch people’s hands more than their faces
• They flinch at movements that aren’t threatening
• When someone raises their voice, they go quiet instead of arguing back • They assume blame first, even when it makes no sense • They’re surprised when someone keeps their promise • They brace themselves before asking a favor
