her music was never aimed at children and was never marketed for children since she dropped her singular acts of we’re being real. she is a 26 year old woman whose music is targeted towards people her age. if children are listening to her music and going to her concerts, it’s a parenting issue, not hers.

you know i never quite understood why ppl complain about leon “being in everything” as a reason why he shouldn’t be in re9. and like, i think it’s a shame that grace is being overlooked for a rumor that we have no confirmation about, but you can just say you don’t want him in the game because the focus should be given to our already confirmed protagonist. in all honesty, i do think having a main character who doesn’t have experience with these monsters and is just a normal person being thrown into the thick of it, is a much more compelling main story for a horror game than if leon, or any of the legacy characters, were to be the main protagonist, but i digress.

the whole “he’s in too many games” thing is so weird to me because not counting remakes, he’s literally only been in 3 canon games. resident evil 2, resident evil 4, resident evil 6, and four, technically, if we count dark side chronicles. even jill, despite how dirty she’s been done by capcom in recent years, has more game appearances than he does. it’s just kinda crazy to me because i rarely see these same complaints leveled at chris, despite him having nearly 10 canon game appearances (not counting remakes). i’ve even seen ppl say he should be in re9 because of his connection to raccoon city. the next person after him with the most isn’t even leon, its jill, and there’s a gap between her and chris. like chris is the real problem if we’re gonna complain about characters having too many appearances.

the only reason it feels like there’s an overexposure is bc 1) the remakes of 2 and 4 being released in the last 6 years, and 2) he’s been in all 4 of the canon cgi movies and had infinite darkness, but it’s not far fetched to say a lot of ppl aren’t tuning into those unless they’re really into the lore of the game, and know they exist and are canon, which is probably like maybe half of the player base if we’re being generous. and all his appearances combined still don’t beat out chris’ appearances combined.

i understand that it can be annoying to see people constantly talk about him possibly being in the game, rather than actually talking about the game itself or the character we already know will be the protagonist, and it’s frustrating that people already seem to be hating on grace because she’s not this perfect, fearless character, but i fear a lot of you who want other legacy characters in the game would be doing the same thing if the rumor was about your favorite character. sometimes characters are popular for a reason, and you can think that he doesn’t make a good fit for a more horror focused game without making shit up and complaining about stuff that factually just isn’t true ?? and having these double standards depending on which character you like more.

everyone once in a while an old newsies post starts getting interactions again and i reread all my thoughts i had on the movie and it reminds me how much i love it

you know i really promised myself i wouldn’t get too into this because miraculous ladybug is literally a children’s show but i keep seeing shit on twitter and i can’t help it. the way some people treat adrien as some kind of thing devoid of feelings or choice when he is a person with autonomy and emotions is so fucking weird. like some of you have no ability to accept the fact that marinette might be wrong about something and try to make excuse after excuse about why she HAS to keep secrets from him.

and like, i fully understand why she doesn’t tell adrien about his dad. i know she made a promise to gabriel, who was definitely using her vulnerability to his advantage, and that she’s probably scared of what would happen if the truth came out, but she is also very wrong for not allowing adrien the choice of whether he wants to know the truth. this is not her secret to keep. she does not get to decide what he should know about his own family. that choice is his and only his, not even his dead father’s. he should not still have the opportunity to control his son’s life from behind the grave.

and ppl keep saying oh it could cause chat blanc she can’t tell him, but her lying to him about it and him eventually finding out could also cause chat blanc. the reveal of his father being hawkmoth was sprung onto adrien in a moment of battle, but that wasn’t the root cause of chat blanc. it was revelation of his mother, and gabriel’s true intentions with the two miraculous and marinette’s warning that the wish will have a price if made. all of this was thrust upon him with no warning, and no time for him to process what was happening, and that could very well happen again if this information is sprung on him in a similar way.

there is nothing that suggests if marinette asked him if he wanted to know the truth, and warning him what knowing the truth would entail, would lead to chat blanc. the two situations are so different from each other that we cannot assume that the same events would occur. but i can’t imagine that when adrien eventually finds out marinette was lying to him all this time about the truth, it will lead to anything good either. especially if it’s someone who isn’t marinette who tells him.

the truth can hurt, and will hurt no matter what, but the best way to prevent anything bad from happening, is to allow him to choose if he wants to know the truth. and he might not! and that’s okay, too, but it would be his decision and that’s what this all comes down to. because there may not be any good outcome to this situation, but the best outcome is the one where adrien is given the choice to decide if he wants to know or not.

and marinette being wrong for keeping that secret does not make her a bad person. she has a lot of empathy and knows that the truth will hurt adrien. she’s doing what she thinks is in his best interest, but it will only hurt her relationship with him and possibly with her friends down the line if she continues to withhold it. what she thinks might be for the best, may not always be what actually is. it is not her burden alone to bear, and it’s not up to her to decide what is best for adrien. he is a person, and has the ability to make that decision for himself if he so chooses.
